King Krule’s Space Heavy is out today, June 9th, via Matador Records.
Now a decade out from his debut album as King Krule, Archy Marshall wrote Space Heavy over the past couple of years while traveling back and forth between London and Liverpool, the two cities where he’s been dividing his time. The album is billed as an exploration of “the space between” — or, as a press release explains further, “the space haunted by dreams of love, touching a narrative of lost connection, losing people and situations to the guillotine of the universe.”
Once Marshall wrote the record, he fleshed it out in-studio with producer Dilip Harris, as well as longtime band members saxophonist Ignacio Salvadores, drummer George Bass, bassist James Wilson, and guitarist Jack Towell.
Beginning in July, King Krule will embark on the “Space Heavy Tour,” featuring dates across North America and Europe. Tickets are available here.

What drew you to Summoning Sylvia and the character of Reggie?
Troy Iwata: I actually auditioned for Kevin originally, sent in an audition tape for that and then just got an offer for Reggie so I was like…ok. Any opportunity that offers a refreshing glimpse into queer representation I’m all for. First off I was obsessed with how funny the script was and the blending of genres was enticing as well. I loved that it was a story that took place after the coming-out process, after the self-discovery and acceptance process. Two married couples, both in the upper echelons of middle-aged. Each couple is bored and disinterested in their own way: he’s too nice, she’s too uptight; he’s too caddish, she’s too wanton. In their desperation, these spouses drift into affairs — sexual, emotional, somewhere in between — all of which are allowed to go under the radar until, that is, their kids decide they maybe, kind of, sort of, just might want to marry each other. Then it all blows up in their faces.
This is the ham-fisted, forced premise of Michael Jacobs’ “Maybe I Do” which, despite its A-list cast, can’t escape its shoddy writing and worse filmmaking. The two married couples in question are Sam (William H. Macy) and Monica (Susan Sarandon), the former’s overt, ho-hum sweetness bucking up against the sensual desire of his wayward wife.

If you set out to combine the worst parts of Hallmark holiday movies with the worst parts of frenetic ‘90s rom-coms, you’d probably wind up with something a lot like “About Fate.” The women are nuts, the men are clueless and the production is so cheap you could pass the time spotting every mistake no one bothered to fix.
Maybe a movie that has so little ambition doesn’t deserve such a harsh summation. But we have, for the most part, moved beyond the most enervating chick-flick stereotypes. So it’s more than a little dispiriting to see Margot (Emma Roberts) lose her mind when her boyfriend Kip suggests they get dinner at Bennigan’s.
For reasons that make sense only to screenwriter Tiffany Paulsen — who also wrote the Roberts vehicles “Nancy Drew” and “Holidate” — Margot is fixated on the idea that Kip must be proposing. They’ve only been dating for three months,...

Director Craig Gillespie has set a star-studded cast for his film about the madness surrounding the GameStop stock squeeze called “Dumb Money,” with Seth Rogen, Pete Davidson, Sebastian Stan and Paul Dano all set to lead the cast.
Gillespie is directing and producing the film that Black Bear International will present to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival. Screenwriting duo Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum, who are also working on Gillespie’s upcoming “Chippendales” film, will pen the screenplay.
Based on Ben Mezrich’s book “The Antisocial Network,” “Dumb Money” tells the tale of riches won and lost overnight in the David vs. Goliath GameStop short squeeze that took Wall Street by storm in January 2021. Using the subreddit r/WallStreetBets, a group of private investors and internet trolls banded together to take down one of the biggest hedge funds on Wall Street, a move that threatened to upend the establishment.
