Stolen Huffy (#5.4)

Warning: Spoilers
The episode had some action because of the cops being called to Nero's business. Mainly because Jax and Chibs had to go save the girl who was accused of making the call. so they had a bike chasing scene which was very well done.

And it went on further when Gemma tried to have Tara beat up Carla. I must say I actually really wanted Carla to smash Tara's face. She is really annoying me. Especially in regards of Wendy. I don't really get why any of them are so against Wendy. She has a much more decent way of life than any of them. Would actually be great if she would sue for custody and take Abel away.

And they also had to say good bye to Opie. A pretty emotional scene when they all see him for the last time.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode we say goodbye to Opie. Very emotional and from the moment Jax closes the doors you see his pain transform into anger. Brilliant acting from Charlie Hunnam. Jax also partners up with Nero but Nero has to stay away from Gemma. Great because I like Nero he is a welcoming character.

Best performance: Charlie Hunnam

Time to say Goodbye

Warning: Spoilers
This is a touching episode as the Club says goodbye to Opie. As usual there are a lot of underlying themes and issues. It looks like the Sons may be entering into the prostitution business (partnering with Nero) in an effort to get into less dangerous enterprises. However, this has complications for Gemma's budding relationship with Nero. Everybody is down on Gemma in this episode and even she asks what is happening to her. Ashley Tisdale guest stars in small but well played part. Drea De Matto reprises her role as Wendy and it looks she is going to be a continual problem. There is a cute scene with the club members working out in the gym and an exciting car chase. Clearly the writers and director know how to make a show that appeal to both sexes. The show finishes with Opie being driven away. The hearse door closes shut but not before we see Jackson's look of defiance. Things are going to change for the club now.

One of the better episodes

Warning: Spoilers
While there are still some flaws in the writing, the loss of Opie and his funeral was well done. I also have to give props to the music department. Every single episode has excellent music. The problem though is the Wendy story line. It makes NO SENSE for Tara and Jax to be creating friction and to incite a custody battle. Abel was kidnapped while with them. How come Wendy doesn't know about this? If she does, why isn't it brought up? Also, Jax and Tara would want to AVOID a custody battle because of the kidnapping, not just of Abel, but of Tara. They would lose. This is poorly thought out from the writers and a weak story line. This is why more female writers are needed in writing rooms. The more logical thing to have done story wise would have been Tara being afraid/jealous of the relationship Abel would have with his birth mom, if he would love her more, love Tara less, would it bring Jax and Wendy closer? would it bring Gemma and Wendy closer? This would have played into the unraveling of Tara more than that Clara thing, which was another weak story.

Warning: Spoilers
Last week caused quite an uproar as Kurt Sutter killed off the best character on the show I think because He hot so much negative feedback for not killing off Clay last year. To get out of prison Gemma calls Wendy who out of everyone is the least trust worthy one. The Sons get out and Jax sees his kids for the first time since he left. The guys talk about how Oba let his life go in order to keep the club going. Jax even says the Sons are fearing of Pope as he seems to strong and known to just get rid of. Tara goes to work and Wendy runs into her seeing her child in another woman's hands. Wendy tells it like it is that Tara cannot keep her child away from her forever. The brothel business is not doing well as they all got arrested and the place is messed up. Gemma finds Clay and they talk about the whole arresting business, Clay said he was trying to protect her but I feel it was for him as he didn't want her to be with the hooker, she does not react well and loses it in the bathroom a bit. Jax finds Emma working and just when Nero's guys find her they chase after them to try kill her. Then when the Sons stop guns are pulled out and the whole neighborhood is looking. Even though they come to an agreement Emma still does get bruises. The Sons bring Emma to the club and keep her safe for the time being. The funeral for Obie and his ex shows up as the guys take him out of the car in his Cassite. At the wake Gemma brings Nero which I think is to make her ex Clay jealous. Jax offers Nero the offer to stay away from his mother. Wendy comes to get her cheque back from Gemma but wonders should she stay at the wake for this character. Gemma then gets is another women fight but this time she has the help of Tara who really takes over and shows her strength over Gemma as a Biker wife. Nero then goes because of what Jax did and what he got Tara to do in the fight. Standard episode over all which I feel did not focus enough on Obie especially since that was the big thing last week.

EPISODE GRADE: B (MVP: Katey Sagal)
