A good conclusion to the series
Tweekums21 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
As the final episode begins Susan finds herself in the company of the killer; a man called Crowley who was believed killed in the war. She manages to get away from him but it soon becomes apparent that he knows where she lives. She goes to see his former boss and learns that he previously worked in psychological warfare; designing images to disturb German soldiers… initially these were just rather saucy suggestions about what their wives were up to while they were fighting but after he survived the bombing they took a much darker tone. Knowing who they are looking for they look at where it all started; trapped in the rubble with a dead girl; a girl who will lead the four Bletchley Park girls to the killer… which will of course put them in more danger than they have been in before.

This was a good conclusion to the series; the regular cast continued to put in fine performances as did Steven Robertson who was suitably disturbing as Crowley. The final confrontation with Crowley was a touch melodramatic but that is something that goes with the genre; I can't imagine many viewers would expect a serial killer to come quietly. There was no indication as to whether there would be another series but the way it ended certainly left the option open should ITV want to commission further series and on the strength of this I'd be pleased if they do.

While these women were greatly valued as code breakers during the 2nd world war, they are no longer valued members of the british society they live in ... every man they encounter treats them with disrespect don't take them seriously ... what i found alarming was their arguments were clear, concise and very logical yet no one listened because they were after all just mere housewives .. these women solved a series of planned or pre-mediated murders that no one else could do ... they should have been put in charge of scotland yard

Absorbing, gripping and thrilling, a successful conclusion.

Cracking a Killer's code rounds off with a thrilling episode. What I always loved about this show was it dared to be different, it told a very different kind of story, the characters were certainly different, nothing run of the mill about any of them, and the format was definitely original.

There are no loud mouthed cops, no career individuals, just a group of four putting their heads together, using logic and intelligence to trap a sadistic killer.

Part three is edge of the seat viewing, Susan enters into some truly dark places, as her life suddenly goes from the safe and mundane to scary and life threatening. The unfolding of the story is rather excellent, I loved the way the quartet had to keep digging and seeking the truth, but this was all about the dramatic ending, which was skilfully played out.

Plaudits once again to Anna Maxwell Martin, but special mention to Steven Robertson (Crowley) who was incredibly good, very sinister.

I loved it. 9/10

Very disturbing and unusual

Warning: Spoilers
A serial killer goes after women and kills them in a horrible way.

The Bletchley Circle is 4 women that worked together during the war and broke codes. Their job was a secret and they cannot tell their husbands. They stay together after the war and become investigators in murder mysteries.

The women are investigating and trying to find out where this serial killer is, they believe he is still alive.

At times it is hard to understand their speech sometime they talk very fast. There is no humor in this series just suspense terror.

In this episode Susan goes to a house where she knows the serial killer has lured her to go. She does not tell the other women. Doing this does not make sense. She knows he kills women in detestable ways and she still goes alone. She also puts her husband and children at risk because the guy knows she is looking for him and he is like a stalker.

The ending is a surprise and after this episode the creators tell more about this series. It is a different type of murder mystery series.

Very Entertaining Although the Characters Are Reckless
Hitchcoc14 July 2017
The burden that trumps everything in this series is the secrecy of what the women did in the war. They were sworn to secrecy. The only place they can speak truthfully is with peers. Otherwise it would be treasonous. In the third and final episode we are introduced to the madman, psychotic killer. Susan gets into places no one else has managed. Her actions prove dangerous to her group and deadly to one of the men who aids them. I used the term reckless because Susan has ventured into places alone which make her actions really scary. She is no hero in her regular life (not in the sense of facing death) and so when she acts it's often without much thought for herself (but it should be). All in all, I was really pleased with this little series and will watch the second one to see how it goes. The characters are unique and real and have some real adversaries who put spice into the show.
