Thanks to How to Get Away With Murder‘s fall finale, here are four more letters we can add to ABC’s #Tgit lineup: O. M. F. G.
It was made clear, as early as September’s season premiere, that something bad would go down in the lives of Annalise Keating and everyone close to her. But even though this show has gone to some dark places before — Sam Keating getting bludgeoned with a Lady Justice trophy! Asher running over Emily Sinclair! Red Dead Redemption 2 will have microtransactions, and while some gamers may be currently cursing Rockstar to the high heavens for making it so, it isn't hard to see why. The news was confirmed in a recent investor call following the announcement that microtransactions had accounted for 42% of Take Two's net bookings in the last financial quarter.
That's right, just a little under half of what Take-Two made last quarter came from gamers reaching into their wallet to pay for incremental upgrades to their in-game experience. Given that knowledge, one can imagine the immense pressure brought on by executives and developers, in general, to want to continue that trend at Take-Two going forward, and possibly forever according to this quote:
“We aim to have recurrent consumer spending opportunities for every title that we put out at this company. It may not always be an online model, it probably won’t...

On May 22, 2002, Felicity ended its four-year run on the now-defunct WB network, a channel hailed for its knack for breeding nuanced teen dramas in the late ‘90s and early aughts. The one-hour series, which debuted four years earlier in the fall of 1998, was an introspective and melancholic take on the trials and tribulations of Felicity Porter (Keri Russell), a wide-eyed, curly-haired California girl who impulsively follows her crush, sensitive jock Ben Covington (Scott Speedman), to the hustle and bustle of New York City for college.
Coincidentally premiering the same year as Sex and the City, another female-driven coming-of-age story set in Manhattan, and fielding welcomed comparisons to Ally McBeal, a popular dramedy at the time, Felicity shied away from the glitz and glamour of living in the big city -- instead focusing on the often uncomfortable and agonizing journey of being a young woman searching for her place and purpose in the world.

A heartbreaking sacrifice was made on Friday’s episode of The Originals — and not just the mountain of precious beignets that went completely uneaten. (Not even breakfast is immune to the power of The Hollow, apparently.)
IcymiLast Week’s Originals Recap: Old Friends, Older Frenemies
Once Klaus and Co. caught wind of Elijah’s kidnapping, it was all hands on deck to rescue him, even if it meant forging a temporary alliance with Vincent and Marcel. The problem with that plan, of course, is that — while stopping The Hollow from materializing remained the collective goal — everybody involved had their own stipulations.

The ‘Donnie Darko’ director imparts important Hollywood lessons.Richard Kelly on the set of ‘Southland Tales’
It only takes one movie to make you a notable filmmaker, as we’ve seen with Richard Kelly. His 2001 debut feature, Donnie Darko, is a “mainstream cult classic,” if the oxymoron may be allowed. Initially a flop, the sci-fi teen movie is now popular enough to warrant a new 4K restoration and re-release in honor of its 15th anniversary last year.
He has made two other features, neither of them so successful, and hasn’t directed anything in eight years. But that one movie is enough to make him an expert on the good and bad of Hollywood, and fortunately he hasn’t become a curmudgeon sitting on the wayside, so we can still look to his lessons learned and the six tips collected below as positive guidance.

Feral forest children with pitchforks for hands. NYC visitors on foreign country turf. Choreographed dance numbers to Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good.” These are the supposed horrors of Glenn Douglas Packard’s Pitchfork, a new-age slasher film with a barnyard twist. The intent is to create a new breed of slasher icon worth fearing – this “Pitchfork” fellow – but the result is, without argument, an expected January release that silently comes and goes. What starts with a traveling band of “super-woke” city stereotypes ends with the impact of a size 72 font *shrug* emoji, lost amidst stale dialogue, misguided “emotionality” and a base-value representation of “horror.” It’s the kind of genre brand that kills people and assumes it’s enough, while supplemental material is nothing but throwaway repetition.

“The pleasure lies not in discovering the truth, but in searching for it.”
Both a quote from Leo Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina” and the first piece of evidence discovered by “Search Party’s” lead investigator, the above quotation poetically encapsulates TBS’ new comedy-mystery hybrid. From executive producer Michael Showalter and creators Sarah Violet-Bliss and Charles Rogers, the 10-episode, half-hour series follows four members of the millennial generation who become infatuated with finding a missing woman. Led by Dory (Alia Shawkat), the group’s connection to the inexplicably absent Chantal is tenuous to say the least, yet one after another, their lives become intertwined with the distanced acquaintance during their quest to find her.

When Peter Brouwer learned that he would need a liver transplant, he didn't think he'd find a donor in the hockey mom he had sat next to at his 9-year-old son Braedon's games for the past three years. Nearly six years ago, the Grimsby, Canada, father-of-two was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis (Psc), a rare disease that affects the body's bile ducts and can eventually lead to serious liver damage. Last February, Peter and his wife Melissa were told that he would need to look into getting on a liver transplant list after his bile ducts had hardened and scarred...

Though 2015 brought an absurd bounty of great television, not to mention the proclamation that we had entered the era of #PeakTV, there’s absolutely no reason to think that 2016 will let up. At all. In the first few months of the year alone, there are a whole host of great returning series gearing back up, as well as a wide variety of new ones. There are so many, in fact, that it took some difficulty to narrow them down to under 30. But here we are.
So please note that this is by no means a comprehensive list – for those so inclined, by all means, get excited for Legends of Tomorrow, American Crime Story, The Magicians, Lucifer, and, sure, why not, Fuller House. The list below are just a few that seemed, for one reason or another, to be especially noteworthy. (In at least one instance, “noteworthy” is not necessarily a compliment.

Hollywood's booziest night is here. And even if your Golden Globe Awards invite got lost in the mail, that's no reason you can partake in the festivities alongside your favorite celebs. Play along with People's Golden Globes drinking game (responsibly! That is a must) - everyone wins. Take one sip every time ...• The camera pans to Amy Schumer in the audience• An acceptance speech gets cut off• Someone makes a Donald Trump joke• A curse word is bleeped out Take two sips every time ...• Ricky Gervais laughs at one of his own jokes• Or he makes a joke about The Office.

Just when you thought 2015 couldn’t get any better, an anonymous source close to Rockstar has revealed to WhatCulture that the working title for Red Dead Redemption 2 is in fact ‘Red Dead 3’. This is assumedly to get away from having to come up with words to tag on the end of each instalment, following Revolver and Redemption for the first two games.
The news comes after former employee Daniel Ross responded to a question during an Ama session asking what the company’s next project was, with “Really? Dumbass. Really? Two” – a rather blatant hint.
Take Two’s chief Strauss Zelnick also noted Red Dead was a ‘permanent franchise’, and by simply calling the series ‘Red Dead’, it allows Rockstar to set up for any number of sequels. It’s also worth noting that this title came from the character of Red in the first game anyway.

Take two thesps from the previous Sundance film festival who both broke out big and then pair them up for your directorial debut. This is the chance that was afforded to Wayne Roberts. Grand Jury Sundance winning Me and Earl and the Dying Girl‘s Olivia Cooke and Next section winning James White‘s Christopher Abbott were enlisted for Katie Says Goodbye back in March for the New Mexico production. Included on the Blacklist’s weekly top read scripts and described as a blend of coming-of-ager, a modern Western and the first part of a possible trilogy, this appears to visit some dark matter and tonally could be the antithesis of The Girlfriend Experience.
Gist: Katie (Cooke), a kindhearted seventeen-year-old turns to prostitution to overcome poverty and fulfill her dream of a new life in San Francisco.

Initially slated for a worldwide release in November, Take Two and developer Firaxis have announced that strategy sequel Xcom 2 won’t hit PC platforms until February 5, 2016.
Taking to its official blog, Firaxis levelled with fans about the postponement, revealing that the creative team is setting out to create “a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown,” and such a commitment now requires more time than originally anticipated.
“We’ve set a high bar for the sequel and the entire team has been working hard to make sure we deliver a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown,” reads message from the development team. “We just need a little more time to make it the best possible game. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we move towards February,” it said. “Good luck, Commander!”

Lionsgate (company behind The Hunger Games) has announced that they are making a live action adaptation of Borderlands.
The heads of Lionsgate released a statement stating they are going to make a feature film based off the game Borderlands. The note that the adventure is due to them expanding their interest in adapting established franchises, and with over 25 million copies sold you can bet Borderlands has done just that.
As for other details we will have to wait as it is too soon. The studio does promise to "stay true to the series," but we have no casting information or writers/directors lined up just yet.
"The Borderlands games don't pull any punches, and we'll make the movie with the same in-your-face attitude that has made the series a blockbuster mega-franchise," Lionsgate noted.
Avid Arad and his son will be producing the film.

How do you say "awards-bait" in French? Take two of the hottest young stars in France, team them up with a rising star director, and then give them a period topic with obvious shades of hot button current events. The recipe is called Les Anarchistes (or The Anarchists). All things considered, the film lives up to its billing - but that includes trading what might have been a tightly wound plot for a very French sense of character. Starring A Prophet's Tahar Rahim as Jean and Blue is the Warmest Color's Adele Exarchopoulos as Judith, Elie Wajeman's film is set in 1899 Paris. Jean is a regular issue policeman who gets plucked from the ranks for special assignment because of his sharp intellect and lack...
