Jane Krakowski shines as always!
schirchiglia6 May 2023
This season is so much cuter in my opinion than the first. The musical numbers are filled with hilarious renditions of the originals. Jane Krakowski looks amazing and has so much talent. She does a courtroom number, Bells and Whistles that is based off of Chicago's Billy Flynn's (Richard Gere) razzle dazzle that is so darling, complete with trapeze tricks done by Jane herself. I'm also loving the Hair musical numbers with the flower hippie people. Cecily, Keegan and an amazing talented cast is worth the watch. Yes people there are many musical numbers as it is a musical. My gosh, relax and enjoy it, we need more musical shows like this to escape life for a bit;)

Jammed Packed with Broadway references
garrettchandlerd13 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Your enjoyment of this episode or the show as a whole is going to largely depend on your enjoyment of Broadway. The first season was delightful, I found the subplot with Aaron Tveit and the references to Carousel particularly funny, but this season deals with probably my favorite era of musicals, and this episode jam packs references to Hair, Godspell, Grease, Chicago, Chorus Line, Company, Annie, Jesus Christ Superstar, and probably most importantly Sweeney Todd. Alan Cumming and Kirstin Chenoweth as the Sweeney and Lovett stand ins and Patrick Page as the Judge Turpin are providing most of the laughs, especially Patrick Page whipping himself as a reference to the Judge's cut number from Sweeney. I think any theatre fan can call who The Butcher's wife is gonna be and that she is still alive (I'LL DRINK TO THAT). I can absolutely see how this show is just not gonna be it for anyone who hates musicals, but also it's perfectly okay to just not review it and move along, this show has a niche audience and I'm one of them and loving it.

2nd Season spectacular!

I enjoyed Season I but Schmigcago is 10 times better than Season I! Cast, music and dance numbers are so much fun, loved, loved, loved each and every episode this season! THANK YOU! Please consider another Season.

I would like to know more about the cast and especially who did the opening number on the last episode of Season 2, simply fantastic!

Cecile's singing was better season 2, and each time Alan Cummins is in his Sweeney Todd, costume it cracks me up. Again entire cast needs to take a bow for a job well done. I will watch random episodes just because the musical numbers are so wonderful!

Would people who don't like musicals quite complaining about this show. For heaven's sake. It would be like reviewing Ford vs. Ferarri and saying there are too many cars. The incredible lyrics, the choreography to match the shows they are parodying, on and on, are amazing. Here we have the Jane Krakowski getting Josh out of prison in a startling wonderful production number. Then we have the homage to "Hair." And a lot of reveal about events of the past where Alan Cumming is the Sweeney Todd and Kristen Chenoweth does her Miss Hannagan from Annie bit. This is such a gift, using the talents of some of the most remarkable people from the American stage.

3 minutes of story told in 30 minutes
Laqshayaroraofficial12 April 2023
This episode was really irritating at times because there were too many songs. I know it's a musical show, but there should be a limit to the number of songs, or the songs should be more entertaining. Almost every dialogue shouldn't be turned into a song. They're making a 30-minute episode with only 3 minutes of story, which is becoming really frustrating and even torturous at times. I hope this is the last season because I can't watch this madness again. The lead actors, Dove Cameron and Bobbie character are nice.

Also, this "one episode a week" thing is bad for the show because even after a week, we are seeing so few stories with too many songs, which can be really irritating at times. I am glad that only six episodes are in this season because they do not have enough story.
