I thought CATS is the worst musical film of all time. But lo and behold, here comes Ako Si Ninoy taking what is rightfully theirs! Waste of money, waste of time.

School projects are way better to watch than watching this film. The actors in this film can't act either. How did they get chosen to lead this movie? The director of this film needs to enroll in a directing class or find a new job. He is not built for directing.

If I were you, use your 2 hours wisely with your family instead of watching this trashy film. Or if you will forced to watch, bring a barf bag inside the cinema.

I want to rate this 0 but IMDB does not allow me to give 0. That is how bad this movie is.

A Waste of Money and 2 Hours of your Life

It looked like a random guy with a phone passed by this mediocre stage play, took video clips, and passed it off as a movie. The director was confused between film and theater because too many scenes used green screens.

Ako Si Ninoy has failed to deliver a meaningful message to the audience. Although the movie keeps saying that Ninoy is a hero, it does not show it, leaving the viewers confused about why he is a hero. The film did not dramatize Ninoy's alleged brilliance, intelligence, pivotal speeches, and the things he did with the people that made him popular. Instead, it relied on narrations and scenes that had no impact. Using Buwan was anachronistic and jarring, and JK Labaho as Ninoy crying-singing to a light bulb was cringe-worthy. The movie's attempt to show how Ninoy returned home was disappointing, as the dialogue made him appear narcissistic and megalomaniacal. The characterization of Ninoy that the viewers will take home is that he is an elitist. The film juxtaposed Ninoy from a family of hacienderos and privilege with the story of a poor family. The movie had no presentation of Ferdinand Marcos Sr, who is the hero's foil, and therefore, it did not deliver any message. The film's biggest problem is that it does not have a villain, which is necessary to understand why Ninoy is a hero. In conclusion, Ako Si Ninoy is not a Ninoy movie because it failed to show the Ninoy that people know from watching historical clips and reading historical books. Therefore, it is not recommended for people who want to learn about Ninoy Aquino's life. Save your money and time. Avoid watching this movie at all costs.

Much worse than the last one

Again, the story is well straight forward but there are LOTS OF UNRELATED THINGS that I saw, like GALON OF DRINKING WATER (since it is a history, usage of galon of drinking water was still NOT available or NOT COMMON), receptionist using a SMART PHONE... Really? Smart phone at year 1986?

Plot was given, and what is new? Still character development was below and actor/actress selection is NOT GOOD, VERY BAD to be honest.

Director didn't know what he is directing or creating. I am not a director but atleast as a normal viewer, we can say which is a good movie and the not so good one, but this movie... Man it sucks!

I watches the movie and it was just like 3 of us in the cinema... (I think they are couple, and they don't even pay attention to the movie at all).

ANOTHER WASTE OF MONEY FOR ME :(

Great movie!

I love this movie. I know many pro marcos will criticize this but what are they criticizing? A work by their fellow Filipinos that shows a true event that is forced to be reversed by the Marcos payments. They are the people whose ultimate souls are sold only to destroy others in exchange for money. I know that in the end they will also understand this and the truth that they must accept. This show is very meaningful and you will discover a lot about a brave President who stood up for the Philippines. Ako si Ninoy Very Good movie for me. The actors in the movie are very good and the director is very good. Ninoy Aquino A real Hero of the Philippines.

Don't waste you money, better buy Jollibee than to watch this movie

As of now, the movie is being slowly withdrawn from a few cinemas. It has been certified as a flop. It would be ironic if the director were to receive an award for this movie, similar to what happened in Katips. In contrast, the rival movie gained over 700 million and achieved the third position for "Bestselling Movie of All Time," yet did not receive any awards.

Even some certified supporters of the director gave negative reviews about the movie. Several vloggers went to watch the movie to confirm that the cinemas were indeed empty.

I feel sympathy for the director, but it seems like karma has caught up with them due to the minority group promoting cancel culture because of different political views. They fail to realize that their numbers are less than half of their opponents.

A Good Movie as an Intro for NINOY'S LIFE

This movie is the best. It doesn't try to impress you. It shows a story of a man who faces challenges of an entire political system against him and his family. Kudos to Director, Vince Tañada and all the cast. The acting skills of the actors are interesting although there were moments were the scene felt flat. The sound and lughting design were on point on most of the scene. That scene between Senator Ninoy and Futue President Cory hit me big time.

If the Marcos fanboys don't like the film then they must be delusional to not see this as how a modern political martyr has sacrificed himself. Overall, it's a good introduction to how Ninoy lived his life under and fought against the Marcos dictatorship.

Good for Kids, the innocent and unlearned and uninspired and everyone in between

The movie might be best seen as a stage play but the attempt is surely commendable.

One will get similar feeling for stage plays converted to movie where one would at times sense that the power of live viewing wasn't as it was on the film, nonetheless, the message has gotten across too so kudos for that effort.

As to those that say this film is lacking the crucial presence of a villain, they may have missed the whole point of the film. As the entertainment piece attempts to inculcate in the viewers that we can all be a Ninoy, a hero, the villain can be anything (not anyone) for each of us; martial law suppression for Ninoy, parenthood for Noel and Ivy, capitalism for Ivy's mom, Quentin and colleagues, being away from motherland for Kuya Bodgie's character, fame for the young actor, the media obligation of exposing truth for the reporter, empathy for the poor for the doctor and passion for education for the teacher. We battle our own struggles and we, because of them, can also be heroes, a Ninoy no less.

My nephews enjoyed it. And the viewing gave us, their responsible influences, the opportunity to enlighten them and for that alone, this attempt of putting the stage to the silver screen deserves a 10.

This may not be a Steven Spielberg movie but this is a movie for all Filipinos and if Filipinoes indeed are worth dying for, the film gets from me a 10.
