2 episodes to go,,,,,,,

Warning: Spoilers
Fear The Walking Dead may have seriosuly just hit an all time low with this episode

The plot and purpose behind this episode is so convoluted, and for the love of all heck, can someone tell Chambliss and Goldberg that the USA is quite a big country, and it would never be something so simple to jump from Atlanta's outskirts all the way up to Virginia (from last episode), and now apparently Madison is heading to Fort Worth which is a big 12+ hour drive from where they are at the moment.

On top of this, we have Fear's good old coincidence plot point where (again, the USA is big country) certain charactrs just find themselves running into eachother when the chances of bumping into each other are so damn unlikely

Also, a gun fight off screen?? Seriously?? This was the most boring and downright stupid episode of possibly all of Fear the Walking Dead I have ever seen.

I'd rather watch Doctor Who's Orphan 55 (those who know, know)

S8.E10 - Boring, Tasteless and Uneventful [5/10]
panagiotis199313 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S8. E10) My Live Reaction / Review for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 10 ''Keeping Her Alive'': Episode 9 was bad and I gave it a rating of 5/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. I hope this episode wont be pure filler like the previous one. I don't think that giving Troy's child back to him would stop him from trying to take over Padre. So still no Alicia? That sucks. Alicia is one of the few good things about the show. If they were smart, Alicia would be in all the remaining episodes. Madison left Victor behind? What the hell? So a random group of people appear and saved Victor from walkers. Perfect, more new characters nobody cares about. So everybody thinks Alicia is dead. At least they could show us how she died. Doing it off screen sucks. Troy's child is so annoying. Overall this episode was boring, tasteless and uneventful. My rating is 5/10.

Instead creating new trends, the showrunners should work slowly with the shades of gray of the morality of the old characters and starting to deal with the closure of arcs
fernandoschiavi5 May 2024
Furious about Strand's abduction of Tracy, Dwight, Sherry and June attempt to return to the girl to her father along with Strand. Wanting to save Tracy from that, Strand escapes with her and brings Tracy to Madison who is continuing her search for Alicia and Tracy agrees to help Madison find Alicia. Wanting to use Tracy to get revenge for Ofelia's death, Daniel accompanies them, throwing Strand out of the truck when he tries to stop them. Strand is rescued by a group of women driving Al's old SWAT van who explain that, after escaping Texas with dozens of survivors who had heard her message, Alicia had traveled around helping survivor groups until her apparent death; having been saved by Alicia, the group has been keeping her alive for other people.

Tracy leads Daniel and Madison into a trapped herd that she claims holds Alicia, but in reality, it's an attempt to get Madison killed by her zombified mother who Tracy claims died because she believed in the same things as Madison and Alicia. Tracy finally tells Madison that Alicia is in a mansion near Fort Worth and Strand talks Madison down from killing Tracy, but she escapes with the knowledge of where PADRE is, convinced that Troy was right about them. Troy attacks Luciana's truck stop, killing most of both groups, but they realize that Troy intends to attack PADRE using an army of the dead like he did with Broke Jaw Ranch. Unwilling to risk anyone else that she cares about, Madison goes after Troy alone in the SWAT van.

The entire episode revolves around Tracy (Antonella Rose), Troy's daughter who disappeared at the end of "Iron Tiger" and was captured by Strand and imprisoned in PADRE in the epilogue of "Sanctuary," to be used as a bargaining chip. Returning to the mysterious island, June, Dwight, Sherry, and Odessa confront Strand in a succession of considerably tired dialogues that result in the girl and her captor being taken as tributes to Troy, under the promise that he will leave PADRE alone. Of course, a series of small and convenient plot twists make everything go wrong, and Strand retrieves the girl - who, thanks to him, now knows the location of the island - to take her to Madison so that the zombified version of Alicia can be located, something that does not happen, as the season's finale seems to want to keep the doubt about her death until the end.

Amidst more twists and turns, Troy faces Luciana's troop off-screen in a battle that ends badly for both sides, and Madison and Daniel lose Tracy - a girl smarter than all the adults there put together - amidst a horde of frozen undead that, as they deduce, will be used as a weapon to attack PADRE (how, I don't know, since there's water in the way...). Strand, in turn, in another twist mixed with deus ex machina, is saved from zombies by the triumphant arrival of Al's armored SWAT truck, now commanded by a group of women who had been saved by Alicia and who now dress like her savior with the aim of perpetuating her ideals.

The presence of this troop that acts under Alicia's name and flag is a really cool idea, but it would have been much better if it had been introduced in the first episode of this season's restart or, better yet, at the beginning of the season as a whole. Perpetuating Alicia through the people who owe their lives to her is, at least conceptually, a much more interesting narrative line than anything presented in the final season so far, and I would like to see more of that, something that seems to be present in Tracy's mother's story, who believed in these ideals. Of course, everything will go down the drain - completely emptying the concept - if Alicia appears alive, which has a good chance of happening in one of those sequences where the mother sacrifices herself for her daughter.

Amidst a huge succession of twists and the complete ignorance of concepts such as distance and passage of time - I know the series has always been like this, but here, this aspect becomes even more evident to the point of being annoying -, I would say that the highlight is Strand. Colman Domingo is a very good actor who only needs a little space to stand out, something he finally gets in "Keeping Her Alive." Of course, the routine of "I'm good, but I'm a villain" or, conversely, "I'm a villain, but I'm good" is nothing new and has already given what it had to give, but he continues to do this layered role very well, which, here, the script by Nazrin Choudhury and Calaya Michelle Stallworth uses and abuses to establish the concept that everyone in this universe, dead or alive, is not completely one thing or another. Not even Ofelia's memory is kept intact throughout the episode when Tracy reminds us that she tried to poison Troy's camp.

In other words, instead of inventing new trends, the showrunners only need to revert to the heart of the series to create good episodes, working slowly with the shades of gray of the morality of the old characters and starting to deal with the closure of arcs, as they rehearse here with Alicia's legacy. Hopefully, the qualitative seesaw will end, and the final two episodes will be well used to bring the original cast to a conclusion as satisfactory as it is closed, without inventing to leave loose ends to be resolved in more future spin-offs.

End our suffering.
elias-3401313 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Usually I'm lenient with Fear. I know the show has been really poor for the past five seasons but for some reason this episode just annoyed me the most.

Why are walkers able to just sneak up on people and grab them from behind but completely forget how to bite people. The cliche of a walker being on top of someone only to get saved at the last second is boring and old.

Child actors don't work in the walking dead. (The exception being Judith) so why does Fear keep on using them. They're terrible. We've had characters since season 1 that have barely any screen time anymore. Instead we have 8 year olds that have no purpose in the show. Tracy is able to jump off a boat and escape several walkers while being tied up then she's able to walkie Troy.

Thank god there's only 2 episodes left because this episode genuinely made me hate the show.

Y'all are too harsh, this is some solid tv
crispycriscuolo14 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Walking Dead has definitely become a franchise that will receive hate upon any new release (to varying degrees) regardless of quality. Tales of TWD never stood a chance, even though it was again pretty solid. Even when TWD made a comeback and gave us one of the best seasons in season 9, people were hesitant to praise it. People wrote off FTWD when it first premiered even though it provided us with 3 seasons of solid tv when TWD was going downhill. Now, FTWD is following up on what had mostly been set up in the characters and relationships from seasons 1-3 and doing a surprisingly great job at it, and not enough people are actually giving it a chance. Again, it's not perfect, but I'm happy that it exists now and I'm not gonna waste my energy tearing it down.

As for the episode: it's nice that it feels like a direct followup to the previous episode, following Dwight & co vs Strand & co and setting up an interesting conflict. It all really feels like it's being made to be enjoyed and entertaining, even if it ends up being a little over the top. The OG show has its fair share of these moments, from the dam explosion to the border facility to the episode covering a blood-soaked Nick. It feels like a great throwback to the show's roots.

I just realized people only liked the Iron Dragon because they killed Charlie and that's hilarious.

The hating is cringier than the show itself
roberthys-4758215 November 2023
Very underrated episode don't known why the cringe hate this sick fandom will suck everything AMC will stick in their throats with the original TWD gang ex:Dead City and Daryl Dixon like they are flawless shows, for the episode Strand is being Strand,Madison is being Madison, the legacy gang is always good i think nobody liked Troy's kid but the acting is good, only 2 episodes left and if they keep focusing on Fear legacy gang it can be the best ending of the entire TWD universe not that it's hard because The Walking Dead,New Frontier,Tales of TWD,Dead City and Daryl Dixon final episodes and most of the seasons was beyond terrible except for this sick and fanatic fandom.

I cant wait for this unbelievably horrific show to end
tomslade-2493812 November 2023
Well, what is there to say that hasnt already been said for the past 5 years when these muppets took over, everything about the show is just awful. I dont think they have any concept of how people actually talk, the way characters are trying to keep promises after 7 years is just ridiculous. Are they actually going to show how Troys gf died? No, no their not.

I honestly dont know why i still watch this show, i literally hate it. Probably just for anything major that might happen in twdu in general.

Its so disgusting what Ian and Andrew have done to this show. This show used to be incredible in the first 3 seasons, everything that came after is simply diabolical.

This Episode begins with Victor, Dwight, June, Sherru and Frank, they have returned to PADRE territory. Strand captured Troy's daughter Tracy. Tracy jumped into the water. Madison and Daniel pushed Victor out of the car, they are leaving without him. Victor got rescued by Ada and Sara, they were friends of Alicia. Luciana and Troy their groups are pointing guns on each other. Tracy runs away. Hildy died. Hildy turned into a walker. Victor killed Hildy. Madison leaves. Solid Episode of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8, this Season is not exciting. So far it is not bad and not good, it is just medium!

Amongst the most non sensical episodes in this show
hsoarc19 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So a 8 yo kid can simply jump out a boat, a mile away from the coast and with hands cuffed, swim to a forest where 10 walkers magically appear, she trips and isn't bitten? This show is like Scary Movie but without witty and sarcasm, it's just a parody of the own concept of TWD.

Madison seems to have only 2 brain cells left either, going after a dead Alicia and killing Troy is the only concern here, even if it puts everything else in jeopardy. Just like Charlie last episode, her only good memories were Alicia and Nick, all her life revolved around killing Nick and atoning for her crime to the Clarks. How can this show still go on and be funded is beyond words to me.

Warning: Spoilers
I swear if I heard that line again, in any way, i'm gonna throw my phone against the wall. It's like the writers don't have anything else to say! Repetitiveness in literature can be used correctly if it brings impact, but in this case it just brings annoyance.

Speaking of which, the writing for this whole episode is nothing but full of fillers and bullcrap plot development. Like there are a few memorable highlights, but they are just fan service. And then there's Strand who is just another dumbed down Tyrion Lannister. Luciana is not getting more screen time here, and Troy's daughter REALLY needs to die because of how insufferable she is.

Good acting though, but the writing sucks. Wish AMC could just fire those two Dumb and Dumber wannabe and get Dave Erickson back.

Warning: Spoilers
I know that people don't like this show, but I do. And this episode is really good and I enjoyed it. Their use of Troy's daughter to their advantage was so unique because they don't do things like this on twd. And it was shocking when they lined up Tracy so they could kill her, like tf it was crazy. Please don't hate on me, but I really enjoyed this episode. I liked the fact they killed lots of zombies and I liked how Tracy messes up our group all the time because its like yeah it's annoying, but it makes sense for this girl to mess our group about. But I'm like, enjoying all of this episode and the whole second half.

I can almost see rock bottom.

Warning: Spoilers
When Madison returned to the show I hoped it might get better, maybe even end on a high note - and for the briefest of moments it actually did. But if this episode is any indication, Fear will continue to disappoint over the final two episodes.

Here are just some of the absurd ideas, scenes, contrivances, and ridiculous coincidences in this episode...

Tracy dives into the water and somehow swims to shore while her hands are tied and she's wearing clothes and a jacket - this would be an astonishingly difficult swim for a child of her size and age even if her hands weren't tied.

Tracy just happens to be wearing the necklace that Strand gave to Alicia (and, if memory serves, Daniel gave to Strand). Gee. I can't wait to see the reveal as to why that is.

Only moments after being abandoned by Madison, Victor just happens to run into the MRAP - speaking of which, how on earth is that thing still functioning after 15+ years into the zombie apocalypse? It takes a *LOT* of maintenance to keep one of those things operational, fueled up, and fully loaded. Anyway, it's being driven by a handful of women who started an Alicia Clark cult. Uh... ok...? Also these women all look like they just picked up their clothes brand new off the shelves at Apocalypse R Us. Not to mention their perfectly styled hairdos. Did they stop at the Salon to get a perm and mani-pedi before fueling up the MRAP to go looking for Strand? I NEED ANSWERS!!

Sherry's *WHITE* jacket is spotless even though it was completely covered in blood and gore just one episode ago.

Madison spends her time rocking out to Motley Crue in the woods while slaughtering zombies with her sledge hammer. I'm sure this scene was meant to be "badass" but it was just ridiculous. First of all - where on earth is she finding batteries to power that tape player? Secondly, swinging a sledge around that much would completely exhaust her and would probably damage her back after a while. That she's using a sledge hammer as her primary weapon - instead of an improvised weapon of necessity - really just speaks to her extreme stupidity as there are countless better options that would allow her to fend off many more zombies without using up all of her energy. Michonne really needs to introduce Madison to a sword. Or even just a knife.

Also the main characters all distrust and betray each other, switching allegiances multiple times in this episode - this has been a running theme with this show since the earliest seasons but jeez oh man it feels like it's happening much more frequently in these final episodes.

A production error but the maps they're using are all modern maps - not from 15+ years ago. You can literally see the year the map was printed (2020) on one of them.

I could go on and on but meh. At this point if you're still watching this show it's either because you've got the same morbid curiosity I do or, for reasons probably best left unsaid, you actually like this garbage.

Two episodes to go. As much as I hate this show I will be sad when it ends.

Weak
DNMill2221 November 2023
I can't believe this show has fallen this much. I used to enjoy this show, but I truly can't stand it. I'm only watching to see the conclusion. And we are so close. This used to be such a cool show to watch, but now it's painful.

The dialogue is ridiculous, the plot is just stupid.

Also, it's like their first day during the apocalypse, I mean are they just giving up on killing walkers?

I used to like Madison, but this season that character makes poor decision after poor decision. Her obsession with finding her dead kids just makes no sense and the conflict with Troy is just so weak.

It's like this show just needs to be put out of its misery.

Well I see using AI to write episodes
ChrisCottell16 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's the only way I can see this garbage has been written.

Kid jumps off boat and swims to shore with hands bound, Strand finds her, they walk round the corner and finds Madison, they immediately find a car and gun, they scan the radio and get exposition on three groups,....

And on and on.

CharGPT: "Fear the Walking Dead" reaches its gripping conclusion as survivors face escalating dangers, from relentless undead hordes to the intricate challenges posed by other human factions. Amid intense battles and heart-wrenching goodbyes, characters evolve, forming alliances and confronting the harsh realities of a post-apocalyptic existence. The series finale leaves viewers on the edge of their seats, offering a poignant glimpse into the resilience of the human spirit amidst the ruins of civilization.

There, we can all stop watching now.

Accidentally watched this, wish I hadn't. It makes absolutely no sense
Rob-O-Cop17 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I saw that nick was coming back and I though that might be worth a watch. But it's not till the absolutely last ep, definitely not this hornets nest of bad writing.

What an utter mess. I watched series 8 ep 1 and saw it was going to be terrible, so haven't come back to it since, and wished I hadn't. This was so unwatchable, just pure garbage.

What do the actors thing they're delivering?

It's just jumping through holes on a mini golf course when you're not really into playing that game. It's nonsensical. So utterly embarrassing for everyone involved. It is the walking dead in nature, in that it has lost all sense of reason and purpose and needs to be put down.

We won't have to fear much longer.
fountasalexander19 November 2023
Can I just say, with only 2 episodes left of this series, its been an INSANE journey.

Unfortunately the majority of this show has been absolutely disappointing, the Andrew & Ian Era.

However, they brought back Madison Clark.

They brought back FearTWD.

This episode was filling me with joy as I saw my OG fear favourites on screen all interacting with each-other, fighting, feuding.

Its just like, If someone told me 2 years ago, around the time when season 6 & 7 was still on air, that they managed to bring back Madison Clark and also Troy Otto for the last season of FearTWD, Id tell them, we can only dream of that.

Somehow Fear made dreams come true.

A reason Ive always loved Fear is because of the characters.

The writing is STILL so illogical, but god, I just dont care, the characters make up for it, honestly they do.

With 2 more episodes to go, I wanted to say its been a pleasure, its been exhausting, but were almost at the end everyone.
