The writing needs to be revised
hgag-978082 December 2023
I'm on episode 2, but the writing is frustrating. Through out the whole episode, I'm screaming " go to the POLICE", it's almost like turkey is a jungle with the rich being first class citizens. The police are constantly breaking the law, doing things they will get sued for in real life and people are comically evil, and extremely annoying.

A missing child at the age of 5 and no one recognised him? Maybe his parents couldn't recognise an older him, but his grandpa? No way these old men can smell DNA Also, Every time the doctor mother tries to do something selfless, the whole family cries and tells her she's too invested in her " lost" son. Which has nothing to do with anything. It's very annoying.

The lack of chemistry between the cast members is also hurting the series.

Has its flaws, but DAMN...
peya-623327 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
My first ever review, so bear with me.

We all watch movies and series for our own reasons, according to our taste, depending on momentary feelings. Sometimes we need a comedy, other times drama, or some good sci-fi to blow our mind etc., and our opinion is greatly shaped by the expectations we have towards the piece we watch.

I read all the bad reviews, skipped most of the good ones, and started to watch the series without hesitation, because those ppl, who wrote the bad reviews, have totally different expectations, and a clearly distinct way of thinking from mine.

So, let's get on with it.

PROs: Firstly, my admiration goes to the brains behind all those butterfly effects. I love how they build them up, until the 'tornado' hits - again and again... How little moments and small decisions mount up to such huge events, however unrealistic they may be... I just love those brains.

(Oh, how I laughed at the twist of fate, that it was actually Alaz, who found his brother - even though Yaman takes the credit, he wasn't the butterfly causing that tornado.)

Secondly, my many thanks goes to the epic couple: they burn the lenses out of the cameras. The way they act and interact... hardly any 'hmm'.

Bertan Asllani (the Cheeky Golden Lion) and Rojbin Erden (the Lionhearted Innocent Goddess) act so naturally around each other most of the time, sometimes only their eyes speak, but DAMN, those looks could fill books. I've seen some epic couples, these two might even belong to the legendary kind.

They got a really good story, the way their relationship develops is quite unique. (Huge thanks to the writers for this, too. Mad story, but loving bad boys is part of our programming.) And her voice... and his voice... and their voices together... pure harmony.

Many - if not all - root for these two crazy (I mean, really CRAZY) kids to finally just be happy together.

Btw, when I say goddess, I mean Nemesis.

Oh, and he's marvelous at delivering the cheeky bad boy act, just WOW. Not to mention the gazillion percent eye-candy factor ;)

I accidentally bumped into this series, but I'm really happy I found it. I discovered such great actors and actresses, I'll watch out for their new works.

E.g. The above two amazeballs, than, Dolunay Soysert (Mama Bear) and Tayanc Ayaydin (Papa Bear). I just adore them, they have such sweet, good, kindhearted characters, their acting skills are great, their experience is obvious, and I especially love their funny scenes. (Oh, Mama Bear, the umbrella, the gun, the door... :D:D:D)

CONs: The 'Pfff, lol...' moments, when even I think, they are too much, they can't be this stupid/naive/idiotic, yet they are :S Not too many, but there are some. The pros outweigh the cons till now, but ep31, Mama Bear... (facepalm) I truly hoped, she was playing a long con, she couldn't be that gullible by now, yet... :(

Halit Özgür Sari (Mr. Judgy) and Simay Barlas, the main couple... Mr. Judgy is a great actor, too, but I'm sorry to say, his character is getting on my nerves. (I know, street kid, had to fend for himself etc.) He fancies himself judge, jury and executioner, without empathy, and that's baaad. There's only black and white, no place for grey. He acts without thinking, many times. His default reaction: protect=kill. He's obsessed with the truth and justice, than turns around and buries a body, because his gf supposedly killed the guy. One of the 'Pfff, lol...' moments for me.

He says the most painful, terrible things to the closest ppl around him, hurting them ruthlessly.

Rüya is not my fav in the series, but I do get her character, how it tears her up learning the truth about her pregnant mother.

Cagla, the Whiny and Cesur, the Troublemaker: the butterflies, that cause(d) many tornadoes. I didn't like these characters from the start, but great actor and actress. I know, no troublemakers=no troubles, still, I can hardly stand those characters by now.

Sebnem the Psychopath and Serhan, the Foul: the worse and the worst. Another great actor-actress duo, but they managed to do their evil thingies for too long.

I discovered Turkish series a few years ago, watched some by now, and I just resonate with them, maybe because our country was under Turkish authority for more than a century, and I see similarities in our way of thinking, but there are some huge differences, too: a) 'Nobody can change!' Oh, I'm so fed up with this line by now, but Turkish use it like a mantra. The perfect excuse for the weak to not even make an effort.

Firstly, every split second, with every decision, action, reaction, thought etc., we change little by little, which mounts up to huge changes over time. Think back 10 years, what were you like than?

Secondly, with enough willpower and determination enormous changes can be achieved. Those life-altering moments, when all goes to hell, moments of enlightenment etc., ppl can change even fundamentally.

But nooo, in Turkey, NOBODY CAN CHANGE!

OK, let's run with it (bearing in mind, that a person's fundamental attributes are set by the end of early childhood): by their way of thinking, Elif is bad, because she was a coward and a thief, Cesur is a hopeless case, according to Yaman's own words, and Alaz is an angel, because he sacrificed his whole childhood for his sisters, looked after them, even tried to take care of his mother.

However, from what we've seen till now, neither of the above is completely true, right?

B) When somebody hurts a member of your family, you just go and kill them. Say what?!... I hate the amount of stupid violence.

C) Some events - that would require some scenes to analyze - are never shown, while other scenes dragging on, who knows why. Turkish love it for some reason.

All in all: When I watch a movie or a series, I don't expect to be educated, or it to be realistic, on the contrary: I hope to be taken away from reality for a little while, and entertained on some levels. Sometimes I admire the actors and actresses, sometimes I love the story, sometimes the plot twists etc., I don't expect everything to be perfect in every possible way, and oh-so-real all the time. If I want reality, I look around, go out, or watch a documentary.

From what I've seen till now, many Turkish actors and actresses learn their skills from the best, or have some unique methods, because the results speak for themselves. The way they can look, how they use their hands, their whole body, they can talk without words. Many Hollywood stars could use some of their knowledge. It's truly admirable, what they can achieve.

Even though I was a perfectionist, if I find some admirable things in the series I watch, than I continue, and can overlook some mistakes - even the best movies of all times have some, I'm pretty sure. However, I draw the line when stories get recycled and/or the characters start to act idiotically, which often happens, when a series drags on for the money.

I mostly enjoyed the story so far, but I'm afraid, because it's a Turkish series. They tend to continue till they run out of money, or the ratings get too low, or whatnot, than end abruptly, without properly finishing the story, or with a quick, horrible ending. (Sry, I'm all for happy endings, girls are programmed to prefer them, except the ones with faulty hard drives.) So, I'm afraid. I watched only finished Turkish series till now, and read reviews beforehand, thus I didn't get a bad surprise in the end, but I just couldn't resist this one.

But now, I'm afraid. The signs of the story dragging on are there: characters acting stupidly or out of character; after some development, characters returning to base settings... I've seen all eps till now, and the last few were somewhat disappointing. I'm also afraid of the cliche-mill, that I can almost make out in the fog surrounding the upcoming storyline. I prefer a nice, well thought out (happy ;) ) ending. Still, I didn't give up hope just yet, and we'll see, I guess.

Cried my eyes out!
sohaib-rubbani29 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely amazing series and script. Pulled at my heart strings so much, can't wait for the rest of the episodes. I'm from the UK and this was my first time watching a Turkish series, and I honestly found it outstanding! I'm not sure why people are giving bad ratings, just trolls. The main character's acting is so good! The different plot lines had me at the edge of my seat. I'm really hoping his biological brother and sister cave in and accept him but what they have done so far is so horrible! I'm not a big fan of his street brother he's really too loud and chaotic I think he's going to spoil things,

Best Turkish Series I've Watched
h_yaseen7 December 2023
I saw a video of this series on tiktok and decided to watch it and ever since I am hooked, every episode has a new plot and there is always something happening in each episode. It starts off showing the main character Yaman living on the streets and making do with what he has, the main plot for the series is For yaman to find his parents as he was kidnapped as a child and left to look after himself. The main characters Halit and Simay portray there character's beautifully and have very good chemistry. Each character in the series has there own story and it shown brilliantly throughout the episodes.

The Wild one
royarsofficial5 October 2023
Seeing an amazing TV show after a break, all the characters are well written and directed. The cast did an amazing job. This is my first Turkish TV show and it turned out to be so amazing. Kudos to the cast and crew behind this show. The best part is this show turns out to be so realistic. Looking forward for the episodes ahead.

The Story is about a boy who was kidnapped and left on the streets when he was young. The story progresses by showing the life and livelihoods of people on the streets.

The lifestyle Differences and the gap between the rich and the poor ,and how children born in rich families take everything for granted is beautifully portrayed in the show.

Overall from my point of view the Show is amazing and is a must watch for Turkish drama lovers.

Extremely well done
chwechter29 September 2023
So far the series is one of the best. Raises the issues os social class in a powerful and realistic way.

Yabani Ali is a great protaganist. You empathize and fall in love with him immediately. His mother also is so gifted in this role as is the entire family including the unwelcoming evil twin siblings, mean and up to no good so far. I hope they mellow a bit bc continuing on that path will soon be too much oa a trope, tiring to watch and unnecessary to tell this often both heartbreaking and uplifting story.

The plot revolving around Yabani's street family is also heartwarming to watch and Im also hoping that part of the plot doesnt deteriorate.

Dragging On + Poor Writing
lemana-2798315 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The series is dragging on really bad. Alaz and his sister are probably some of the worst written characters I've seen. Characters in this show are very stagnant, and they never interpret things like a human being. The main character is still annoying and confrontational, his girlfriend is still annoying and argumentative, his siblings are still awful characters, and his father still gets away with everything. This show should've ended 5 episodes ago; we are still cycling through plots and arcs that should've wrapped up LONG ago. What's the point of having that pointless arc with the lead guy protecting his sister from her dangerous boyfriend if it didn't make her become less delusional or condescending to him?

Don't let me get started on the stories. Instead of preparing to wrap up the existing conflicts, they've just added a new "evil brother" as if we don't already have one awfully written evil brother. Have mercy! Characters in the show never learn or change, and the plot remains aimless as ever. I'm done.

Best turkish drama in years!
laysmaili24 October 2023
When you think you know anything... you don't. Excellently written story, with unexpected turns and a pen that reflects the true contrast of rich x poor and the layers of such complex story. I've not watched a series like this in years. From the insanely talented actors to the incredible script, every episode gets better and more intense. I barely finished episode 7 today and I find myself EAGER for the next one next week.

I have to shoutout the insanely talented HALIT ÖZGÜR SARI, our main lead, for delivering flawless performances every week.

For dizi watchers: Yabani go hand in hand with the legendary turkish mafia drama Içerde. Yeah, it's THAT good.

Recommend 100%
jamudepow23 November 2023
It is a very good series so good that it touches your heart, many new things happen continuously without stopping thinking about the next chapter. I recommend the series 100%.

The acting of the characters is very good, not to mention the settings and landscapes of the heart of Turkey (Istanbul), without a doubt a series to take into account if you like dramas and love stories.

The only problem with Turkish series is that sometimes they lengthen them so much that the story loses its way and I hope that is not the case with this series, which is becoming one of my favorites if it continues on the path so far.

What's wrong with this actresses?
samirmaaa14 October 2023
It's refreshing to see a series where things actually happen in each episode, instead of dragging on with lies and deception even though there was some exaggerated drama...slow motion forced reactions, you could simply let them easily tell their life stories instead of making them fall on the floor screaming like they are infants..However, I have a concern about the main actress's wardrobe choices. She seems to be dressed very provocatively most of the time, which doesn't seem to fit her character's role as a good girl who falls in love with a beggar from the street. An actor's wardrobe is an essential aspect of a movie or series, and it should be consistent with the character's role. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've seen an actress who thinks she is on a fashion show instead of understanding her role, always tons of make-up, you don't see this in Hollywood movies. This particular series is a realistic drama about orphans, but the main actress keeps displaying her breasts and almost showing her backside. It doesn't comply with the rest of the drama.

Good solid series with surprising twists
mosquitocyn27 September 2023
This review is based on the first 3 episodes - only 3 episodes released to-date. The story is very moving and focuses on Ali who was kidnapped and lived in the streets. At his adult age, he discovered his biological family but can he return to live with them? Can all of the family members accept them? Who kidnapped him and why? I'm glad the series so far is pretty fast in pace and I especially like a strong hero and Hali Ozgur Sari is great as Yaman. However much they beat this guy, he comes up stronger and more determined. And the great thing about the plot is that he really wants to find out who kidnapped him and why. I like that part of the plot. I was afraid that once he discovered his new family, the series may move focus on family drama of jealousy, fitting in or not fitting in, etc. I hope our hero's path will be less predictable and an interesting plot will unfold itself as the series continues. The entire cast is good too and especially like to watch Yaman's mother, father, grandfather and also Yaman's "street sister".

Poor Script!!
johnannan-8890123 September 2023
Soo cringe to watch fully, horribly written, I'm so dissapointed cuz I had high hopes for this...The characters are awesome but the script goodness is really awful..Turkey have great actors and actresses but the writers are a no no no!!! Only few series stand out and that's very bad considering how good the characters are in most series. How these kind of series get's high rating makes me think a lot, dont people watch other european series because when u make the comparison there is a big difference and they really need to work on it, you can't have all these fine actors and still produce something as poor as this!!

Heartwarming
suzanmouhajer17 March 2024
It's nice to see a Turkish show that has brought realistic events. Human trafficking, drug use, adultry,, child abuse awareness. The chemistry between the actors is magnificent! It has a mixture of joy, sadness, and heartwarming scenes! Some plots are non believe able but overall I cannot miss any scenes. A masterpiece. The characters are well written and you develop a sincere understanding of each of them. You somehow grow to admire each one for this or her unique performance. I must say this is one of my favorite shows. Cannot wait for the week to arrive. If u love drama love and action this is the show for you.

Flipping brilliant!
orlabrod-909101 November 2023
Not quite sure what the 'awful' reviewer was watching but it certainly wasn't this or they havent watched the really rubbish series that are out there! ! This is a very entertaining series with plenty of drama! Really good cast & you get completely drawn in. I literally can't wait for the next episode to see whats happening next!

It is the usual rich kid/poor kid scenario but the story is very cleverly done.

The backstory of this series is great! Lots of twists & turns. Great acting by the cast. Lots of drama & plenty of dysfunctional families, so typical Turkish TV!! Give it a go you won't regret it!!

Best drama dizi Season 2023-2024
martudurruty18 March 2024
After almost 27 episodes, I can say that this is the best drama dizi out in the market right now. The story is absolutely well written with a heartful acting performance by the whole cast telling a story about a kidnapped kid, Yaman, who lived in the streets until he found his family. Here you will find amazing love stories (personal favourite Aslaz!), painful scenes and amazing actors portraying their characters. You really need to watch this dizi, it amazes me every single weekend with new episodes and hopefully we will get a second season! Thank You Now Turkiye for this amazing story!!!!!!!

beyond awful
mustafasagun19 September 2023
It's an absolute disgrace, it's so bad that I can't even call it a series or a movie. The absurd coincidences are too bad to even be coincidences, the scenario is so simple and bad; The primary school kid would have written a better script. I think the high scores given here are purely to raise the score of this ridiculous structure of the series. The actors are not actors anyway, the TV series is not a TV series, and the script is not a script, but stories made up by someone who is mentally unstable. This and similar productions drag the Turkish TV series industry down so much that I am ashamed of this situation.

Best show in 2024. The storyline is very interesting. I would recommend for sure. The main couple are really cute and have amazing chemistry .The relationship between the mother and son are so cute .And especially the relationship between the son and father are adorable .I wont lie ,you'll definitely cry in this show but it's worth it and sometimes might be happy cries. The main couple are also really attractive and respectful .This show has amazing actors and would definitely hope it continues till season two . In conclusion, people who like a sad show with romance should definitely watch it now.

Only teenagers and uneducated people can enjoy this
abraraljebbeh24 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
First and last time I watch a turkish series, such an unentertaing journey lol,I have never been annoyed by a fictional series before not only I wasted my time I feel like I have lost brain cells after watching this, scenarist treats the viewer like a fool, the show is full of stupid mistakes, silly illogical plots, especially that episode when ruya's father dies like how can police be that stupid believing the two criminals narrative without any proof and releasing them before even listening to Metin's side of the story lol, if they were innocent Serhan wouldn't have run to her house and the grandfather wouldn't have closed their financial accounts and kicked them out of the hospital but Neslihan is obviously the stupidest doctor on the planet, and how could Metin lift the body alone and how did he know the location of Serhan driver's house and managed to open the back of the car isn't it supposed to be locked? Also that scene when Ali is watching a record of his grandfather listening to Serhan and Sebnem conversation behind the door and which he died right after is enough to prove they are actually involved but it seems like everyone in the series is suffering from near term memory loss lol, there are many other mistakes but I am not gonna write it all the review is already very long, some characters are irritating with either zero personality development(Çagla-Neslihan) or illogical development(Alaz-Ece) and she keeps adding uneceessary characters for two episodes then kills them in a silly way,how can anyone enjoy this stupidity is beyond my understanding.

Plus Alaz and Asi are the cheapest and most cringe-worthy couple I have ever seen, she is a mediocre actress and lacks femininity and they act like two teens having fun and experiencing things for the first time, childish storyline and zero chemistry, their relationship is all about violence and lust,no deep human feelings, no class, they don't even have a romantic or mature conversation and there is absolutely nothing appealing about their scenes they are actually painful to watch,no wonder their fans are a bunch of low-iq and emotionally-stunted losers who will flood social media with pathetic comments and attack other actors because the last episode wasn't all about their vulgar queen punching the bad boy all the time lol, what a joke the bar is set too low these days I feel insulted only for being in touch with this retarted fandom but it seems like a lot of turkish serieses have similar fandoms is that true? Hard pass but anyway good for you making so much money though I mean mediocrity sells,it is still a sad thing that our channels are paying money to such a subpar content.
