At least you are loyal..
and_mikkelsen21 February 2024
While this episode was not heavy on plot, progression and excitement, it did add more layers to the Clones and what It means to be a clone doing the empire!

One of the themes of this episode, was loyalty! Loyalty is big thing for the clones, as you fight beside you're brothers, who counts on you! This episode made us remember that the thing the clones lost after order 66, were loyalty! Following orders were more important! Now you are loyal to the empire.. not your brothers!

The end was a nice way to wrap up the episode, as it is now about finding your own path, as individuals.. not as mindless drones!

Star Wars' lore is unbeatable!

Warning: Spoilers
Having experienced an excellent season premiere I directly continued with episode two. While the first one focused on Omega, this one gives us Hunter and Wrecker.

Coming from the devastating loss of Tech in the season two finale and the capture of Omega the Batch is reduced to Hunter and Wrecker. This alone is heartbreaking.

The two of course have one goal only: finding and rescuing Omega and they will risk everything to achieve it.

Their search leads them to an old abandoned laboratory of the empire. And that is the point where the franchise shows of its muscles. Deep in the laboratory a dangerous beast has settled in, created by the empire, an experiment that has gone out of control.

Ladies and gentlemen the sarlacc has returned!

If you need prove why Star Wars is the last remaining franchise that delivers quality year per years even while struggeling under the iron fist of Disney, than this show is the way to go. Star Wars' rich lore is untouched by any other franchise and this epiaode profits from this.

Two episodes in and this season has already surpassed everything the other studios put out over the last 6 months. If this continues on this level we will witness history.

The Suspense continues to build

After a satisfying in-depth episode about Omega, we go back to the Batch, but only part of it. They wouldn't be who they are if they weren't doing all the good to find and rescue Omega.

Hunter's paternal role is beautifully evoked in his painful sidelong glance at Omega's doll (a nice visual parallel to the previous episode), and it stokes our desire to see them reunited. But it is the tests they face that defines heroes.

The episode rolls out the monster-of-the-week plot to structure this step in their search for Omega's whereabouts. We know, as fans, that Hunter and Wrecker are more than capable of facing this one, but it's still enjoyable to watch them fight to complete their mission and get one step closer to Omega.

It also sets a baseline of stakes for the season, as we know that the tests that lie ahead of them will be even tougher. It wouldn't be satisfying if it were too easy, and here they come away with only a meager clue.

Add to this some decent new clone characters, an appearance by a beloved droid, an exciting guest star vocal talent, some of the coolest non-John Williams soundtrack work yet in the series, and impressive animation. The season is off to a strong start.

Much better than the premiere

Warning: Spoilers
While it's getting a little tired to turn a corner in Bad Batch and every time hear "I'm a clone like you" or "you're a clone like me", this episode does a decent job of contrasting the loyalty of the outcasts to each other versus the clones who were considered normal now coping with that outcast status and learning the importance of community within it.

Paired with a decent emotional tug with the clones observing the living space of Omega and such, it makes for a good episode with a somewhat entertaining action adventure. This isn't Filoni's greatest material, but it's enough to be a pretty good watch. 6/10.

Loyalties

Warning: Spoilers
I thought this episode was actually pretty good.

Sad seeing Hunter and Wrecker being essentially the only two remaining Bad Batch members (for the time being anyway). I wasn't at all expecting young Clone cadets. That added a semi-interesting view of how slimy the Empire continues to be with a program and group of people they no longer wish to be responsible for.

I also wasn't expecting a Sarlac pit! Does this mean The Empire created those? Or am I overthinking this... It kind of seems like it, given where the episode takes place and the circumstances.

I had fu with this one. I wouldn't quite call it filler either, seeing as the main goal brings our team closer to finding Omega (and probably Crosshair), and I thought everything tied up in a safe but satisfying way.

Good episode.

Warning: Spoilers
You might call this episode a half filler, but The new species who took prisoner the alien pyke were mysterious.

This episode had a similar tone with Mandalorian monster stories. But it kept it hidden till the last point.

Nala se & Omega's character were well developed. They did say that Nala se species were ruthless but it looks like she's quite calculating & empethetic towards Omega . Omega talking to Crosshair gives hope in my heart

The filler story had great writing. Short , shown . No constant talking or annoying jokes. Straight to the point things . Its the last season, m not crying..

I was teary eyed when Hunter just said choose your own path to young clones . The line fits well beyond words.

Great throwback to Andor 's One way out .

Ironic!

Ahh, A genetically enhanced sarlacc if i am not wrong.

Nice touch.

Revealing it in the end. Who would care? Hah ...

Not a bad episode, but one that still shows that the show's weakest link is still the Bad Batch itself (or at least what's left of it; being Wrecker and Hunter)

Warning: Spoilers
I would hesitate to call this a bad episode however it's definitely a weak one. Whilst not being filler it's still another monster fighting side quest episode with little character building, at least little character building for the main characters. I found that the whole plot with the kids was pretty cliche (not that being cliche is inherently bad or anything) and was quite predictable (which also isn't inherently bad but this episode didn't have much going for it). I get that episodes like this are sort of necessary for the plot of this season however I feel like it could've been done in a far more meaningful way, I didn't get attached to these kids and Hunter and especially Wrecker still leave a bit to be desired in terms of character. All this being said I do think that the whole Sarlacc thing was pretty cool.

Overall just a pretty mid episode.

More filler

Warning: Spoilers
This episode can be summed up as Hunter and Wrecker get intel to where Omega could be, she's not at the old and destroyed imperial lab, they met some clone cadets that survived the empire bombing the old lab, they find a console that still works to extract intel to find out where the new lab could be. That's it. That's the episode. Simply thrilling.

The entire episode is them going through the old lab with one of the three clone cadets to find the console while the other two stay behind in their cave hideout. And of course the entire time they have to deal with hostile monsters that don't actually harm anyone because injuries would be too graphic for this show! During this, the other two clone cadets want to steal Hunter and Wrecker's ship so they can escape the planet. They find the ship and break into it by rewiring the lock. And just like that, we now have a second time in this show where literal children break into the bad batch's ship and steal it. Do they seriously not have any security systems to prevent people from breaking into their ship, especially after the last time it was stolen? Are you serious? But it's ok because the other clone cadets just steal the ship so they can fly to Hunter, Wrecker, and the other cadet to save them from a vine monster. You could skip this episode and miss nothing.
