About time we saw some traction on this. We got some new heroes on the block guys and now we know who will be playing the two lead roles.
I reported way back in April that Cloak and Dagger had been greenlit. Look its right here. Well finally we know who our two stars will be. Olivia Holt (Kickin It, The Standoff) will be Tandy Bowen a.k.a. Dagger and Aubrey Joseph (Run All Night, Death Pact) will play Tyrone Johnson a.k.a. Cloak. Executive Producer Joe Pokaski says,
"The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy. When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leapt off the page. We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia masterminds Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton have cemented their status as FX‘s MVPs with a massive new three-year deal at FX Prods for their Rcg Prods. It is said to surpass the trio’s previous $50-million three-year deal with FX, signed in 2011. Like that deal, the new agreement, which will keep the trio at FX until 2017, includes a two-year renewal of Sunny In Philadelphia, which has received 10-episode orders for Season 11 and 12, to not only solidify its status the longest-running live-action comedy series in cable history but also tie My Three Sons for the second-longest-running live-action comedy in television history. Last year, FX flagship comedy series It’s Always Sunny successfully migrated to Fxx, helping to launch the new comedy-focused channel and become its cornerstone program. The upcoming 10th season of Sunny will not launch in the fall as previous ones...

I hear Fxx has given a straight-to-series order to a comedy series starring Tracy Morgan, from Rcg Prods., the production company of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia‘s Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton, and Sunny writer Luvh Rakhe. This is a brand new concept unrelated to Death Pact, the comedy pilot FX recently produced, from writer-creators Rob Long and Tad Safran, which starred Morgan as a formerly lazy, pot-dealing assistant high school coach who returns to his hometown as a decorated war hero. I hear FX approached McElhenney, Day and Howerton about working with Morgan in January, with the discussions resulting into the new series.

Steve Talley is set as one of the leads in Lauren Iungerich’s ABC comedy pilot Damaged Goods. Described as a comedy about the sexual politics that have changed between men and women in this post-feminist era, it revolves around three damaged women and two damaged men who explore the minutiae of love and relationships. Talley, repped by Domain and Framework, will play one of the men, Jason, a lovable ladies man who sabotages his relationships. He’s coming off FX pilot Death Pact and is currently recurring on The Crazy Ones. John Gemberling has been added to Marry Me, NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot from David Caspe, about a young couple, Jake (Marino) and Annie (Wilson), who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks. Gemberling, repped by CAA and Principato-Young, will play Gil, Jake’s best friend, who’s divorced and pines over his ex-girlfriend.

With the best information available at the time of writing, here’s our pick of the year ahead's most promising-sounding Us comedy pilots (many of which are already confirmed as going to series) by that guy who did that thing you liked...

Michael Cera and John Hawkes have joined the cast of Charlie Kaufman's half-hour comedy pilot "How and Why" for FX.
Hawkes plays Goodman Hesselman, host of the "How and Why" show at the center of the comedy. After losing his passion for the show, he is replaced by a younger host and relocates to a different town to start a similar show with significantly less stature.
Cera plays Mendelson, Goodman's new boss at the studio. Kaufman will pen and direct.
Zach Galifianakis has joined the cast of Louis C.K.'s new comedy for FX. Story details for the pilot are being kept under wraps.
C.K. will co-write the project that was created by Galifianakis. Galifianakis will executive produce alongside C.K., Blair Breard, Dave Becky and Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz.
Both shows are part of an order of 12 pilots by FX. Others in the works include the Billy Crystal-led "The Comedian,...

Update, Friday 3 Pm: The pool of Saturday Night Live finalists is expanding. I’ve learned that Erica Ash, who co-stars on SNL alum Tracy Morgan’s FX pilot Death Pact, also is set to test for the NBC late-night show Monday. She joins the other nine women I reported on last night. I’ve found out that they all have been invited to test, though some of them are currently tied to other projects, so it is unclear how many of them would be available. Related: ‘SNL’ To Audition Black Female Cast Hopefuls Monday Previous Exclusive, Thursday Pm: One of these women could follow in the footsteps of Maya Rudolph and become the first black female Saturday Night Livecast member in five years. No one is talking, but I have compiled the names of nine young performers rumored to take the SNL stage on Monday to vie for a featured...

FX has put in development Texts From Bennett, a half-hour comedy from Wilfred director/executive producer Randall Einhorn. This marks Einhorn’s first project under his overall deal with FX Prods. The project is based on the book by Mac Lethal about the peculiar white ghetto sensibility of his cousin Bennett’s texts. It centers on rapper Mac Lethal, who has a problem: his cousin Bennett, a 17-year-old white kid who claims to be 13% black Crip, enjoys a more-than-recreational level of drug use and can’t keep a job. When Bennett and his pill-popping mom lose their house, Mac offers to let them stay with him and his WASPy girlfriend Harper at his lovely suburban Kansas City home. A search is underway for a writer to adapt the book. Einhorn, repped by Wme, Odenkirk Provissiero and Michael Schenkman, most recently directed/exec produced FX’s comedy pilot Death Pact starring Tracy Morgan.
