Never seen him before, but this guy is hilarious!
chirox31 August 2017
Being a Brit I hadn't really heard of Andrew Dice Clay that much, just the odd mention on TV over the years, he wasn't that big a deal in England. However, I really liked his cameo in Entourage when he partnered up with Johnny for Johnny Goes Bananas and when I saw he had a TV show out (I caught it on a cable channel at home in Bangkok) I went out of my way to find more of it. I wasn't disappointed, Dice is a funny funny show, irreverent and self-mocking. It hits all the right notes for me, it's almost like Curb Your Enthusiasm but cooler, Dice's character is brilliant and the supporting characters, particularly his wife and Milkshake, are funny in their own right. Straight off the bat you're into Dice's life as a one-time mega star who's not exactly down on his luck but isn't at the top any more, his connections in Las Vegas are far and wide and the situations he finds himself in are set up to make him the butt of the joke sometimes and the winner on others. I watched the first season in a single sitting and found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions, my wife was wondering what I was watching and she also found it funny. Some great little cameos in season one, Adrien Brody was particularly funny. Give this show a try, you won't regret it, but it's not for those that don't like cussing as Dice is full of expletives.

Funny and pointless

Warning: Spoilers
I very much came in with low expectations but Dice surprised me. The characters in the series are actually funnier than Dice himself. His girlfriend is great and Milkshake is so stupid you just laugh. The manager of the casino is an easy going goof. And the woman owner is the casino is a split image of Dice as a female. Each show has its own plot so you can miss one and not miss a thing. The 2nd episode with Adrien Brody starts out with you scratching your head (as to "why"?) and then leaves you laughing out loud. I was never an ADC fan years ago but he's mellowed some (not a lot but enough to be much more tolerable) and plays himself at 58 yrs old with energy and humility. He still tries to be a tough guy but it almost always backfires on him. Very good watch. Only 25 minutes an episode.

Probably the best "reality based" sitcom I have seen-well written and often hilarious.

Outstanding
zappf14 April 2016
The first two episodes are very funny, full of brilliant moments and dialogue, but truly the third episode is when you get into the show's stride. It eases you into who he is in relationship to others (which is more than just his stand up character) and sets you into place gradually, instead of immediately telling his story and letting the situation be filled in from there. It still has a traditional situation comedy theme to it, but it grows over the course of the season and starts to really play out in terms of interest and laughs.

It has great writing with some of the best social commentary and satire I have seen on TV in years. Dice has a winner with this; even if you are not a fan of his stand up and find him offensive, this show will make you laugh.

Really good show. Dice has a good thing going.
grimlyn10 April 2016
The resurgence of older comedians/entertainers has been doing a lot lately. Louie and Maron among a few. Like Maron, Dice is a fictionalized version of the stage persona.

The jokes are great. Just the right amount of political incorrectness to not be so offensive, but make someone laugh. He's a wise talking, ego driven, mans-man, with attitude. And he portrays it very well.

Having Vegas as the backdrop is perfect. There are many great celebrity cameos too. Natasha Henstridge plays his girlfriend perfectly. The two have this chemistry that really made me think they are an actual couple. And Kevin Corrigan who plays "Shake" does a great best friend role and accentuates Dices ego perfectly.

It's definitely worth a watch.

Wow! Blindsided with this one
Wow! I saw this was coming out and I thought this would be a half- cooked Dice comeback attempt.

Boy was I mistaken! This is so well done. I've watched the entire series over and over and keep finding new jokes.

I'm not sure how this would go with someone who didn't know who Andrew Dice Clay was, but if you are a fan or are at least familiar with his work... stop reading and watch it now!!!

This show is absolutely hilarious!!!! A must watch!!
killerbugsey19 May 2016
After watching the first season multiple times, I have come to the conclusion that Dice is one of the best comedies of this year. Andrew Dice Clay has been out of the scene for some time and I think this is the era he will comeback. Every episode is well thought out and brilliant. If you have the right mindset going into it, you will love it from the start. This show has me laughing constantly the whole episode and I am positive it will grab you too. Watch for the little things Dice does, that is what makes this show great. If you have not seen it yet definitely give this show a go. It would be a shame to not give this show what it truly deserves.

Never would have guess it

I was never a fan of Andrew Dice Clay, but he definitely made me and a lot of other people laugh guiltily back in the 80's. I had no idea what become of him, but I saw him in the Woody Allen movie, "Blue Jasmin"

and he was a decent dramatic actor, and so too in "Vice" his new semi-autobiographical comedy/dramatic series.

This show has some really riotous moments, and in general is funny through and through ... I'm a fan. Good writing, good character, and good acting ... especially Adrian Brody channeling the Dice from the past ... it's hilarious.

friends in high places?

totally dumb show locked in the 80's. He was obnoxious then and worse so now. Who commissioned crap like this? Is this the same network that does house of lies and shameless? Someone called in favors here is my only rationale to give this flash in the pan 'another shot.' Bad acting, plot less other than dice being dice. I suspect like most comedians he is a tortured soul and he puts his pain on full display doing this terrible show. Dice should look elsewhere for meaning as he's not getting it from his career. Perhaps he, Dennis Miller and Gary Busey should get a reality show or get a job at a gym. This is too painful for him and the audience to carry on.

Have you watched this yet? Its fantastic!
javier_garcon-47-65655211 August 2017
I love the cast that Andrew picked out, You people do not know this mans life, He used to do family comedy and was failing but still he was funny, he was actually doing Kids birthday parties as a comedian, Then one day his life changed! Andrew became this man that he knew and talked about when someone said you should be that guy. The rest is history folks! People! Andrew is a genius, He has been constructing this world like a magician, he is an illusionist! This world you see that he created is 100% fake but he actually lives it 100% of the time, Andy Kaufman is the only other comedian that rivals over the Dice man and he died a long time ago, Jim Carey played him in a movie. I am telling you people, watch carefully, Andrew Dice Clay is actually leading you through every story. It is a complete 10! I hope to see you in Boca Raton at the Black Box my birthday month Dice Man.

Just OK
westplainsmom15 April 2016
First of all, I need to say that I have never ever liked ADC. Never. But I thought I would give this a go. The first episode was quite likable. A bit funny at times and Clay wasn't too much of an A-hole. But the second episode? I had to stop watching it half way through. And I REALLY like Adrien Brody. His characters are just people you HAVE to like. But Clay being an jackass 90% of the time just ruins it for me. So this series (which I will quit watching after the first half of the second episode) gets a 2/10 rating from me. The first episode a 6/10, and the second a -4/10. And for the beautiful Natasha Leggero... Her parts are small and very infrequent. She deserves much better than this...

Fresh - Best Comedy Since The Big Bang Theory
angelinmcdonald2 April 2016
Dice is absolute hilarity from start to finish - his unique view of the world around him gets Dice both in and out of ridiculous situations that are mostly of his own making. Dice is a lovable character despite his many faults (brutal honesty being one of them). The show has the feel of one that is at least partially improvised or loosely scripted like Curb Your Enthusiasm yet does not drag. The show is fresh and funny as heck and is the best comedy to come on the air since the Big Bang Theory. Dice is in many ways outlandish, shocking, yet misunderstood (as is the Sheldon character from Big Bang which is what makes him such a compelling character) and the viewer is often left wondering what planet he is from, yet still being able to identify with Dice's wacky sense of right and wrong. Definitely put this show on your watch list.

Funny as hell.

Funny as hell. Period. I don't buy the negative reviews at all. Dice is playing this perfectly. No longer the young stud playing stadiums, he plays the older and less successful Diceman with a ton of humor and self-deprecating dignity. Hoping for a third season.

An underappreciated gem
goettel-881-9043688 February 2023
Dice" is an underappreciated gem of a television series that should not be missed. The show, which first aired in 2016 and ran for two seasons, follows the semi-autobiographical story of comedian Andrew Dice Clay as he tries to revive his fame and career. It is a unique blend of humor, drama, and insight that is elevated by a talented cast of actors and comedians, including several well-known names in supporting and guest roles.

The humor in "Dice" is often crass and politically incorrect, but it is also clever and insightful. The show fearlessly tackles sensitive topics like race, gender, and sexuality, doing so in an entertaining and thought-provoking manner.

In addition to the humor, "Dice" also explores more serious themes such as the struggles of finding one's place in the world and maintaining personal relationships. The show balances these heavier elements with its lighthearted humor, making for a well-rounded viewing experience.

Overall, "Dice" is a must-watch for fans of off-beat comedy and edgy humor. It is a shame that the show is so underrated, as it offers a fresh and entertaining perspective on the world of show business and the challenges of personal life. Don't miss out on this hidden gem of a series.

The negative reviews are made by people who have nothing better to to do than complain about anything that challenges their predictable and boring opinions. Ignore them.

It's gonna suck...... OH!!!
Matthew_Capitano4 May 2016
Dice returns, pot belly and shoe-black hair in tow.

8 out of 9 reviews already posted here are positive which shows me that they have been planted since only people who are bored - like I am right now - would watch the little (unfunny) trailer and write a review.... and none of the reviews would be supportive unless they were written by plant -- or a drunk.

Dice is going through what Arsenio Hall went through a few years ago. Nobody knew what to do with Ars' or how to present him anymore. After his talk show, he stumbled and fizzled (by the way, he's still stumbling and fizzling). Now it's Dice's turn.

Watch if you want, but I bet you have something better to do, don't you?.... yeah, that's what I thought.

Equal Parts Odd and Creepy = Funny
leftbanker-118 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The cameo by Wayne Newton scared the heck out of me and I had to check the credits to make sure it was really him. He's like the poster boy as to why people should never have elective plastic surgery. Adrian Brody investigating Dice for a method acting stunt and his bit about losing and winning a ton at blackjack just to avoid the ATM fee were two off-the-wall bits that I loved. The show is fun but it's impossible to understand how this guy was ever so huge in the first place. He's got about two paragraphs of material in his whole persona. His gal and his side-kick are two great roles that propel the series. Let's have more. Why the f#$k not?

Dice, reloaded...A triple parlay hit on the Yo...If you shoot dice, Ya follow. :)
brooksrob112 September 2017
Just finished the 3 ep of the 2nd season...

This Dice is the best dice!... He's Hilarious, far funnier than his standup act ever was...This is a humble Dice.. A very sharp Dice and he does a role like few are capable of carrying.

Being a 30 something when Dice was at his peak, I am happy he's still keeping us entertained all so many years later...I liked his brief appearances on Entourage hopefully that helped set the groundwork for this series...

The series is great with many cameos and great character actors...But, it helps to have a good long time Dice exposure as a prerequisite..

If you truly liked Dice, If you "Get him" you'll LOVE THIS SERIES...

Amusing and Entertaining
nxfeb1 September 2020
It's unfortunate, for what ever reason(s), DICE wasn't renewed. Obviously, DICE wasn't everyone's cup of tea BUT I found the short lived series to be both enjoyable and entertaining - It had serious legs. IMO it worked and was Showtime's loss for not developing it further. Quality, well produced nitch programming helps draw a more diverse subscription base; something which is seriously lacking from their existing underwhelming lineup - Why would anyone subscribe? Much of what CBS Showtime produces, with the exception of HOMELAND and BILLIONS, as of late, are mediocre, at best.

If you like Diceman you'll love this.
thetthman9 December 2020
Nice mixture of comedy blended with a very self deprecating Clay making up an unmissable combination.

He has a sidekick "Milkshake" who is the perfect straight man to play opposite the hilarious Dice.

Not sure how people who don't know him will get on with it though.

Unknown comedy series. I want more episodes!
louieshowers31 May 2023
Dice gives us a really great hybrid of the "Dice Man" and Andrew. I love how humble and mature Andrew Dice Clay has grown as an actor. He's still edgy and authentic to his character but it's cool how we see his family life side of his personality. The chemistry between him and Natasha is surprisingly super heavy. The cameo appearances are also awesome and the choice of cameo talent was cool. This reminds me of Curb Your Enthusiasm a little bit as far as pacing and writing. It's a different animal though, but REALLY GOOD! I would love this to resume. Like or hate Andrew Dice Clay, he's undeniably talented, funny to a ton of people, and has charisma. I can't believe I never knew about this series. That proves how much The Dice Man is on the naughty list. I'd love some more work from him soon.
