"The Moonlight Man" is an American horror short film that was released on Youtube shortly before Halloween last year, so it has its 1st anniversary these days. It is among the most known effort by Danny Donahue with way over a million people having seen it so far. It also is a really brief movie at under 3 minutes and the one playing the monster in here was for example also the one in charge of the soundtrack, always a crucial area in horror films. Really short horror films have been up and coming in the last years (see Sandberg's stuff) and this is among the bigger successes. Actually, they made a second film already following this original here. Donahue mostly hit the right notes by using successful formulas like an attractive lead actress on her own, the right mix of seen and unseen danger and little items that make a solid impact in the overall story like the car keys. It's a good atmospheric watch, not only around Halloween and it's not a problem it doesn't really offer much of a story. You cannot really expect that at 150 seconds runtime. Also I personally always like it to see the bad guys win in (horror) films. Realistic feel-good endings have become a bit of a rarity. Okay I am drifting away. Bottom line: I give this one a thumbs-up overall. Go check it out.

When the moon hits your eye...

'The Moonlight Man (2016)' is a short horror film in which a woman comes under attack by a bizarre creature as she goes to get into her car at night. It's a solid effort, with a decent sense of escalating tension and a relatively horrifying conclusion. It's a tad slow for what it is, but it typically works rather well. It's an entertaining experience. 6/10.

Spooky Atmosphere, Simple Story

This short film has some great, spooky atmosphere in it. The setting works really well. The lead actress does a great job of portraying peril and anxiety. I really like the look of the monster as well. The director made a great choice to keep it in the shadows and minimize its screen time. It is a lot scarier that way.

This story has been done before, but it is an effective horror short film.

old tricks

The use of old tricks of genre. it is the lead virtue of this film. who gives a pretty young woman, a car and a character who is familiar for each horror fan. but it is enough for a concentred film , not surprising but nice. and so simple than it becomes real good for a large public.

Insanely good, big man with big shank equals very scary and intimidating figure and I am now scared of walking alone in the moonlight with no man. Thank you for this movie and this awesome experience.
