I am in. SHOCK.

When I watched this movie, my expectations were... lets just say, what can you expect from a cast full of down syndrome people? Well, i was sure BLOWN out of the water when I saw the delightful acting, the cinamatic shots, and the intrepid directing. I give this film a solid 10/10, anyone who knows someone with down syndrome MUST watch. When i feel my sevre depression, I watch this film and it saves me from jumping out a 3rd story window. This film has saved my life, and may save yours.

Upon watching, I began to question the definition of normality, why should a chromosome seperate you from the rest of society? Arguably, i believe everyone is different. Im not a doctor but upon watching this film i was able to diagnose myself with down syndrome. While watching, I felt an extra chromosome come into my life. I am schizophrenic by the way, but its ok because i felt very empowered upon watching the film. God save us all, God bless.

Not Sure Who This is For

The film follows a boy born into a future world where everyone else has Down Syndrome. The message, as you might guess, is about acceptance and trying to provoke thinking among non-disabled people about what it is like to function in a society where you area the odd one out.

I have worked with children and adults with disabilities in a professional capacity for the last 15 years. I am all about art that promotes acceptance and challenges people to think about how someone else experiences the world. But my problem with this film is that I'm not sure who it's for. The message is a bit simplistic (and has some weird plot issues) for an adult audience, and yet certain elements (like prostitutes soliciting or a slightly bloody post-birth shot) make it something that doesn't feel like it's for children.

Just from a storytelling point of view, I also struggled with the basic concept of the plot. This future just doesn't feel real at all. You're telling me that people who can't tie their own shoes are operating sophisticated equipment, delivering babies, performing surgery, building elaborate buildings, etc? I was never able to get past this element and really embrace the story.

I think that this film was well-intentioned, and I really enjoyed seeing so many actors with Down Syndrome. There were some fun moments (like their diagnosis that the child is "missing" a chromosome). I love the message, but don't think it was delivered well.

noble intentions
Kirpianuscus11 April 2020
The first scenes are very offensive . Because, not ignoring the noble intentions, the subject is too delicate and the manner to use it in this case / too simplistic. The Down szndrome persons are real special for so manz reasons. And that is the big problem about this short film. To make a film about acceptance is not easz and in this case, against the humour / the lost chromosome/ , against obvious good intentions, something remains wrong. So, noble intentions, few nice moments. And, unfortunatelz, no more.

The Destruction of Life
mrdonleone14 April 2022
Nowadays it's easy to make a city movie. If you look at what comes out of our movie schools in Belgium it is easy to understand and that lowlife mentality is breeding the down going of the future of humankind. This short film definitely helped to this destruction of God with all its low manners and such. It's a Belgian movie that is definitely true and it's can be seen as well by the lack of quality. The end result is something that you wouldn't wish to send to your grandmother-in-law while she's lying on a deathbed.
