What a ride!
rasmussk-8524431 October 2018
It's been a long time since ive been on such a thrill ride, each episode just makes the show better and better, absolutely striking beautiful cinematography, clever dialogue, and the acting from Salim and Ranthe is nothing but world class, the rest is also acting at a usual high level from a nordic show. But this is the best thriller series, ive seen yet from Denmark.

Great short crime series
binhpham-7615719 November 2018
Good acting and plot carried this for me to the end. Six episodes is just perfect. Anything longer is asking for boredom.

Story is believable and better than most of the other series out there, so I don't complain too much and just sit back and enjoy.

Great beginning... then it fills up with cliche's
garycn-4190121 June 2021
This series had LOADS of potential.. truly.. and started off really well... Then it just drops off and fills up with countless cliche's I suppose to try and attract a wider audience..

The writers really dropped the ball here.. and I think that stem's from perhaps writing material without any true basic understanding of it.. Lots of very far fetch and frankly nonsensical situations transpire after around 3rd episode that by the 5th I felt I had been insulted enough and just removed it from my library at home... and I REALLY like that lead actor.. alot... I just wish they would have had a better grasp on what they were writing about..

First few episodes are great but then it collapses somehow
henrik-808-99480220 July 2019
Couldn't stop watching the first 4 episodes but the last 2 and especially the ending is disappointing. Still worth watching though, as long as one doesn't mind the story getting thinner...

The screenplay scored better than the story
manugw3 December 2018
A simple story, typical the good cop vs the bad ruthless drug traffic dealer, chapters are gripping and intense. Main character a war veteran playing an undercover crook playing in the burrow of the bad guys. The end result a blend of an American action series with a Scandinavian noir. Ok but nothing else

Not too good -- as for a Danish series
BeneCumb15 December 2021
Well, Denmark has its own issues with gangs, but really to such a degree that people are harassed and killed almost in the centre? The army mission related stuff is not novel as well, it has been a topic in several and catchier creations in Denmark... But the thrill in Kriger is somehow maintained and the events-scenes (although lopsided at times) take the viewer to the logical ending - but without any wow! Effect.

It seems to me that the primary goal of this Series was to provide Dar Salim, Danica Curcic and Lars Ranthe to perform protagonist roles (they have been usually cast into supporting roles). Here, Ranthe in the role of a gang leader was most to my liking, he has mostly performed positive/mild characters in other series.

So, Kriger is not a must see, but if you like to know about as much as Nordic crime series as possible, it is definitely not with a warning "Do not watch!" :)

Good, but simple
MAD_PIGE0N13 December 2020
It is an ok show to watch, as it's filmed well, the actors are good, but is straight forward without real tension. Just simple good story that no one tried to take the maximum out of it. The ending is a bit weak as development, but overall positive 6 stars.

Disappointing
JohnM634 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a big fan of Scandinavian thriller an crime series, but every now and then I get disappointed. On the positive: as usual all scenes are well filmed and the dialogues are not to bad. The amount of action is enough and not overdone and the acting is for sure above average. Kriger (Warrior) is disappointing, even if you may be entertained if you're not too critical.

On the downside: the motives and characters are very shallow during this series. Some events and developments are either plain stupid or simply make no sense. The plot is clear from almost the start, so there are hardly any surprises in this very simple scenario.

SPOILERS BELOW Not from this world: a detective 'hires' a former soldier as an undercover to bring some bad guy down. The operation is more or less illegal, but she gets away with it. The guy says yes out of some feeling of guilt, knowing he will not be paid, and is basically on his won. Shallow motive.

They are having a hard time catching the bad guy red handed. However at a certain point the undercover witnesses the bad guy killing someone. You'd say that's enough to get him, but no, not in this case. Stupid.

An about 10 year old kid gets voluntarily in a car with the undercover (he is a friend) and refuses to stay at home. Why? What's the point? A possible hostage? Sure, but this turns out to be a totally pointless development in the plot.

All in all, it's not a total waste of you're time, but the Danish normally perform much better.

Halfdecent crime-drama with annoying flaws
alrik-lanzow14 November 2018
The acting is overall good, as is the setting and camera-work. The story is serviceable and lends itself to some good moments of suspense. Action-sequences are good. My main concern is the atrocious dialogue and lack of character depth - Tom, the main villain is particularly two-dimensional (he's only missing a monocle) . I appreciate that there in all certainty excists coarse language between gangmembers, but the constant "danish f-bombs" wears really thin after 3 episodes - bad writing. Some of the police procedure seems extremely far-fetched or downright inconceivable, again - bad writing. Is every character in this series a raging alcoholic?

I may seem harsh; I want to like this but I can't help but compare it to "Sons of Anarchy", a much lengthier series, yes, but with both a much stronger characterisations and story.

Starts out well but gets silly
robertasmith16 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I would have preferred to watch this with subtitles as the dubbing was not that good. I just thought it entered the farcical and I found it hard to believe that the lead could enter a biker gang so quickly and move up the ranks so quickly. This simply isn't one of Denmark's best shows and I just think it could have been so much better. The lead cop, Louise, is not convincing and wouldn't make the grade as a meter maid. It is well filmed with a good sound score but as a story it just gets silly. The spoiler is that at the end, having rescued her son, Louise parks up round the corner and tells her dim wit offspring to stay in the car while she goes off to save the day without any back up. It's a great pity the series is so flawed.

Weak!
steindolmo1 August 2019
This might be the weakest Danish crime I have ever seen. There are a lot of threads which are not followed up. Some issues are over-explained, but many more are under-explained and hopeless to explain. I will not say more about this, my review would be full og spoilers... Not recommended!

Warrior
Tweekums27 March 2022
This six part Danish crime series is centred on CC, an ex-soldier, and Louise, a police officer whose late husband served under CC in Afghanistan. When the police are looking way to infiltrate a biker gang, The Wolves, that is believed to be involved in the drug trade, Louise suggests CC. He agrees and sets about befriending Mads, a young man on the fringes of the group who is keen to be fully included. Some gang members aren't keen on CC but after he proves useful he is accepted by Tom, the leader. It isn't long before CC learns that the gang is expecting a consignment of heroin from the Italian Mafia. There is also a rival group to worry about. As the story progresses and CC gets deeper involved he must question just how far he is prepared to go to get the job done.

While this isn't the best crime drama to come out of Denmark, it is after all up against some stiff opposition, it is entertaining. Dar Salim impresses as protagonist CC, Danica Curcic is solid as Louise and Lars Ranthe is suitably menacing as Tom; the rest of the cast is solid too. At only six episodes in length things never drag and there are plenty of exciting moments and ramping tension throughout. Towards the end things get a melodramatic, perhaps a little bit too much, but it didn't spoil my overall enjoyment of the series. Overall I wouldn't say this is a must see but it passes the time well so I'd still recommend it to fans of the genre.

These comments are based on watching the series in Danish with English subtitles.

Poor on detail with lazy writing
ponkster17 March 2019
This on the surface was a good dram that builds steadily, but scratch the surface and you see lazy writing. The details are very poor and the military and biker "advisers" deserve a biker gang style beating for their sins. The bikers are all stereotypes with the leader the standard psycho with a scar - any patch wearing bike club member will be foaming at the mouth after the second episode, lets just say a full back patch is not ever handed out like sweeties after a couple of smacks in the mouth - the writers should have just written about a gang if the knew so little about how organised bike clubs work!

Well conceived and acted series
antoniotierno27 October 2022
This series takes place in Denmark and the dialogues are all in Danish. Therefre I don't it's easy to make comments on the quality of the actor's performances. Reading what the actors say and trying to match the subtitles to their faces is decidedly different from experiencing the performances, needless to say. However, the actors seem very talented. I can't say with certainty that the actors delivered good performances, but they did at least seem to be acting well. The characters themselves appeared quite interesting, and the show did seem very well-written. In one particularly emotionally striking scene that shows the series' potential as a drama, the widowed detective's child asks his deceased father's commanding officer if he gave the order that got the boy's father killed. The officer replies only "yes," but the tears in his eyes and pained expression on his face tell an entire story of tragedy and loss.

Just a cliche

Warning: Spoilers
Silly stereotypes about motorcycle clubs and as such not very credible. And even within the few criminal clubs - who would grant membership to a total stranger in a couple of weeks?

It is difficult to write
BobNoOneHundred10 October 2018
It is difficult to write good dialogue and establish credible, interesting characters. To accomplish it, you need both talent and inspiration.

Or else..... the result is fiction where people say things that people don't say, react in ways people don't react, do things people don't do.

Like most of the products from the contemporary Danish factory of drama this one will probably be fairly well received by the audiance and the critics.

The latter, at least, should know better. But in a small country with a very limited movie business maybe sometimes the right hand is a little too engaged and invested in what the left hand is doing?

Formula Garbage!
True_Reviews8 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of this series is ridiculous. In a country like Denmark to allow a civilian to work undercover with the police? Are you kidding? The rest of the movie is formula nonsense. You can see it coming from a mile away. Even the short romance between the two lead characters is sooo predictable it proves to be a crappy made for TV movie. Acting is OK, but who cares. Speed watch this and save yourself a lot of time. And you can skip to the last episode after the 3rd and you will only waste a minimal amount of time, depending on the fast forward option 1x, 2x or 3x you chose.

Expected Better
iGlad23 July 2020
This is drivel stupid plot line the sane Danish actors. The cop woman is not believable. Far too many racial stereotypes for my liking as it gets kind of tired seeing the sane ones each time.

I do hope there isn't a 2nd season.

Don't mention the war!
povme27 November 2018
I quite like the feel of the show, but what 'war' have the protagonists been in. Eurovision? Denmark is neutral since the vikings a thousand years ago.

I don't quite understand something here
silverton-3795917 February 2023
The main character, CC, is a retired company commander who holds himself responsible for the death of one of his men. The wife (Louise) of that soldier who died in combat is a narcotics detective in the Copenhagen police force.

Louise asks CC to become an undercover snitch in a case involving the impending gang war between a native Danish gang and a gang of immigrant middle-easterners. Louise's boss, a weird looking, walleyed scutter named Finn, seems more concerned with protecting the immigrant gang from the native gang than in doing anything to stop the drug dealing that the gangs are going to war over. That's what I don't understand about this whole thing.

I might not continue watching this after the pilot. It seems to be populated with a bunch of unattractive actors and the story is written to tiptoe around the criminal element that exists in Denmark among the immigrants. That makes the story unbelievable.

Slow and boring
tearitdownner15 November 2022
For a Danish thriller, this thing is really slow and really well not very well written the lead cop woman in the story looks just like princess Markel with the same kind of Skislope nose job. This is one of the most boring slow danish shows that I've ever seen when it comes to crime and cops and all that stuff and very unprofessional it would never happen in real life. It's so unrealistic and it's just pointless. Really I mean the whole war thing is a little bit overdramatic dramatic, the filming as usual is good and the scenery is good music is as usual with danish elite guy. I've seen him another films in his better there than here. He's kind of like a wooden soldier.
