You hear Haddish say “she ready” a lot, in interviews, in her upcoming Showtime stand-up special — Haddish’s production company is even called She Ready Productions. When she says it, don’t think of it as a catchphrase. Really, it’s a mantra.
“Me and my cousins, we came up with it when we were young and trying to sneak into clubs,” she told IndieWire in a phone interview. “When we would come out of the house and you looked cute we’d be like, ‘Yeah, she ready.’ And if you looked bad, we’d be like, ‘Uh uh, she not ready, go back in the house.

What Is Going On Here?
(To find out, see what you missed last night!)
“Archer,” 10 p.m. on Fxx
Episode Title: “Waxing Gibbous”
Network Synopsis: All roads lead to Len Trexler as Archer and the gang try to avoid unfriendly ghosts.
Why You Should Watch: This season of “Archer” has been another season-long monkey wrench in the animated show’s mythology. But underneath all the fedoras and three-piece suits, it’s still the same show, even as its characters have been transplanted to the ’40s. In Dreamland, anything goes, so leave it to Sterling and the gang to lean into the metaphysical, even as a haunted house might be in the way of the truth.

While most fans know Taryn Manning for her acclaimed portrayal of Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett on Orange Is the New Black, the actress is also quite an impressive singer -- a talent she displays on an all-new episode of Comedy Central’s The Comedy Jam. And Et has your first look as Manning takes the stage with Def Leppard’s Phil Collen to perform “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”
The eight-episode show, which first premiered on March 22, features celebrities dishing on their favorite memories of iconic songs and then later reliving them on stage with a live performance. For Manning, it’s channeling a longtime rock-n-roll fantasy that sees the actress trading Pennsatucky’s wavy brown locks for some punk-inspired pink hair.
“It's just temporary,” Manning revealed to Et backstage after taping the episode. Having just finished filming season five of Oitnb, which returns to Netflix on June 9, the actress just wanted to change things up. “I had to...

Comedy Central’s latest development slate is diverse in more ways than one.
Not only has the cable network put together several new series with performers of color at the center, but the three shows picked up Tuesday by Comedy Central are all very different.
Ordered to series are the stand-up/musical show “The New Negroes,” the comedy game show “Taskmaster” and the scripted comedy “Corporate.” In development are shows from creators including Awkwafina, Neal Brennan, Arturo Castro, Franchesca Ramsey, Noël Wells and Flint Wainess, among others.
“The network when I got here was pretty traditionally targeted toward young white guys, both in terms of who the audience was and who was creating the shows for the audience,” said Comedy Central president Kent Alterman. “We started changing that a few years ago by expanding that into having funny women on the network, with Amy Schumer and Broad City and a lot more since.

Jordan Klepper is not setting out to be another Stephen Colbert.
Klepper is a correspondent for “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” who will spin off into his own 11:30 p.m. show for Comedy Central this fall, just as Colbert (and later, Larry Wilmore) did from “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” But that’s where the comparison ends, according to network president Kent Alterman.
“This isn’t about Jordan trying to create a character like Colbert’s character was,” Alterman said. “This is really about trying to play to Jordan’s strengths. He’s so quick and so smart… Even on the field pieces [on ‘The Daily Show’] there are times where he plays almost a clueless, arrogant liberal and other times he goes the opposite direction.”
