When I Think About It I Want To Cry
zandertowne9 May 2020
Started off with such promise. Obviously super low budget but, hey, clever can overcome that. And some of the performances seemed like the director had merely cast his friends instead of actors (and by far the worst performances came from the two "detectives") but the mother and son were believable and their roles competently written. In addition the premise was original and intriguing and I was interested in going on the journey the film would take me on. And then it started - not so much "falling apart" as "stalling". Filmmaker's weaknesses, or inexperience, began to assert themselves. The interesting set-up was never further developed. Incidents occurring to further the plot seemed to carry no weight, often seeming as if they were forgotten about as soon as they occurred. Key connections seemed to be missing (possibly a production issue with missing scenes). Detectives, social workers and other characters seemed written without any relationship to the real world (and the writer/director might have believed he had given himself a pass because of a twist at the end, but they all served to further kick the viewer out of the movie while they were happening nevertheless). Real credit to the eerie depiction of the main entity (although with one exception the scenes are never directed to take advantage of the effect) but the rules established for the monster in the closet seemed to change or be forgotten about depending on the scene. But worst of all the pace and tone throughout was remarkably consistent with never any variation - no growing threat, or suspense, no continuing involvement or concern with the main character - so that well before the first hour was up I honestly didn't care what was happening and only continued watching because I dared to hope it would redeem itself in the closing minutes. Unfortunately, despite a nice little final moment in the closing scene, the ending is the worst, least imaginative sort of lame cop-out. LITERALLY, the worst lame sort of cop-out! My estimation of the project went from hopeful, to considering it merely hampered by some poor writing and uninspired direction, to bored disappointment and eventually anger for a climax that makes the 75 minutes spent watching it totally wasted. Ah well... better luck next time filmmakers! And if I am seriously bored, or drunk, I might even give you another chance.

Better than I expected.

I was actually pretty impressed with this film. Despite obvious budget constraints, I was engaged and entertained. I honestly started to care about what would eventually become of Peter. The main actor, Danny Irrizary manages to carry the film on his own, much to his credit. Based on the budget information for this film? I can't believe they pulled this off as well as they did. I enjoyed it. I'm sure others will too.

Good for what it is

It's no budget. It's poorly acted. It's also made by one guy and a camera/sound operator. The whole movie basically feels like an old episode of the goosebumps television series. It's got some creepy moments and a creepy concept. It feels like what happens if you take a decent short film concept as a horror fan and decide to expand into a full movie. None of this is bad btw. In terms of no budget horror out there, this one at least has some decently creepy scenes if you're watching late at night.

WALK! DON'T RUN!
Okay the story wasn't too bad. Until the end. It would be easy to just destroy the movie based on the end but I'm not giving spoilers.

I liked it enough to actually pause it to make sure I didn't miss any of it when I went to go jogging several times during the movie.

But this is going to be a letdown for most I think so I can't give it more than a 5.

Entertaining but in a bad movie kinda way

The acting is really mostly terrible, with a couple exceptions. It was entertaining though in a cult B movie fashion.

Don't think about is as a horror movie.
scorp-945-74874419 January 2021
This movie is low budget and it shows. But they made the most of it. This is a simple yet effective parable on living with anxiety. Main character is trapped throughout the movie. His house is inhabited by a monster making his life severely restricted. He is merely getting by instead of living his life. This is a cycle he can't break unless he changes something.

This movie features some of the worst writing and acting I've ever experienced. The good thing: it's so bad that it's almost entertaining. 1/10 horror movie, 4/10 comedy movie.

Cool premise for a horror movie

Warning: Spoilers
My wife and I had a blast watching this movie. We love indie horror flicks, and this one delivered the goods. It has a charming quality to it that is difficult to describe. Despite its modest budget, the movie kept us engaged, and it had a really unique plot device. The main character Peter really carries the film, and he was very believable as an awkward, loner 15 year old trying to deal with this insane scenario. I liked that they went for an underdog protagonist who is battling not only the demonic monster in his closet, but also trying to navigate the war zone of adolescence, and the various nosy authority figures who keep showing up at his house. This kid is in over his head, and it makes for a fun and unique little horror film.

A couple thoughts: I feel like the storyline deviated from the rules it established from time to time. Like there were a couple times where Peter was not in bed before sundown and the monster did not immediately kill him. Also, I wanted Peter to try to figure out a way to fight back against the monster, rather than trying to just survive it or run away.

*spoiler warning: Also, the ending is pretty abrupt, I wanted some kind of epic showdown with the monster.

Overall very fun indie horror film, looking forward to seeing what this crew makes next.

WATCH THIS

All I have to say is that if you're into "good acting" or "professional cinematography", you've come to the wrong place. But if you're here for a good time, look no further. The highlight of the movie is Chester the friendly slender man, a guy full of charisma and passion whose lookin to entertain. And although my cousin and I may have laughed through the first thirty minutes, I very much enjoyed the ending and would recommend to every young boy or girl out there lookin to laugh and have a nice time. And also, walk Don't Run

Warning: Spoilers
This movie was pretty original but it was low budget, and the acting was terrible it does feel like a movie made in school and as a school project.so what i understood was he was dreaming and it was because he was mean to the little boy in the beginning so he was the cause of the bad dream.

Don't Run Just Walk........

10 star reviews have to just be actors or crew of the movie or said friends of the actors and crew.

1 star reviews bitter sad people who couldn't graduate a intro to film class.

Original Story idea. Acting was just ok. The main kid did a decent job. The girl next door was more like the girl next next door. The FBI agents uh ok "Better get that window fixed before all the Asbestos gets out. " what? Lol?

Scary story not a scary movie. Good enough Sunday funday movie.

Like Rihanna says "I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed Get along with the voices inside of my head You're tryin' to save me, stop holding your breath And you think I'm crazy, yeah, you think I'm crazy.

A Must See!
pnfanof18 October 2019
I went to the premiere of this movie not knowing what to expect. I have to say that this movie was exciting, chilling, funny and well acted. I was engaged through the whole movie and the ending was a definite "gotcha" moment. A big thumbs up to the sound and special effects too. Well done to all of the talented people involved!

Don't run
d3afb0y9 May 2020
People might not like it but I do love this movie. I thought it was gonna be scary but not really scary just small spooky. Danny did good job and did his best being actor. He look different in real life as good looking. I feel his character pain in this movie and can't imagine how he had been through but he's not the only one. I would challenge you to watch whole movie. Like it or not. It would be good for tween or teens to watch this movie than real scary movie. It's safe as 82% to watch. My option
