Jodie Comer is such a great actress!
Rob133129 September 2022
I have to say that I enjoyed Killing Eve much more than I expected to. It's about a very smart and bored MI5 security officer named Eve (Sandra Oh) who is given the job to hunt down psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer). As they go head to head they end up obsessed with each other. Jodie Comer gives a breakout performance here. This show made her to be a A-list actress and one of the most sought after actresses working today. I can't say enough about how great of an actress she is. She's also one of the most beautiful celebrities in the world. If you're looking for an entertaining and fun show to binge then give this a try. A little warning though, while the show is great overall, it literally might have the worst ending in the history of television. It's still worth watching though.

Excellent to the end (of season3)
rqckuhunp11 April 2022
I would have rated this series 10 / 10 if it wasn't for the pathetic, rambling cop-out of season 4. I suspect different writers or just a sheer lack of imagination. Just skip season 4 and you'll love it.

Jodie Comer is the best actress on TV!
Supermanfan-139 June 2020
Killing Eve manages to be funny, smart and thrilling all at the same time. This show is absolutely deserving of all the award nominations it's gotten. While all the acting is fantastic, Jodie Comer is the best thing to happen to tv in a long time (and the hottest)!

For me it's just three seasons
Abdus949 April 2022
I loved this show when I first watched it, but now after watching the final season I can't say the same.

The finale it ruined all the good parts about the show, the show used to be really good with great execution and with lots of fun and twists which was really exciting and thrilling to watch.

I think show was ruined because they changed/removed some good writers after season 2 like for example 'Phoebe Waller bridge', she really shaped up the first two seasons but the show started to lose it's spirit in season 3 although it was also somewhat good when compared with the previous seasons.

So if anyone who wants to try this show I really recommend not to watch the last season.

Jodie Comer is crazy good

This show had me hooked after two minutes. What sounds like a typical agent hunting serial killer, surprises with great characters, surprising turning points and amazing cast. I absolutely love every part of it.

Psych Thriller
tgp021016 April 2018
I love the show. INTRIGUING! Someone wrote that this was sloppy writing because there is no background on the characters. That's not true, if you pay attention you have everything you need. Eve is a MI5 investigator but she longs for more in her life, something trilling and something that gets her heart thumping. She secretly loves psychopaths, she wants to know how they work and why. It's a hobby of hers. Villanelle is the psychopath. She has sociopathic tendencies. She mimics emotions because she has no empathy and we see her continuing to adapt to her surroundings (smiling with the child in the ice cream shop, laughing like the lady on the radio). That's what is odd and interesting about her character. Her drive is to kill people because she easily becomes bored with every day mundane tasks. They will become each others next obsession!

This show could have been a 10 for me
ricardossv1826 June 2022
I didn't know until the end of the 4th season that PWB had left the show midway.

It does not surprise me at all.

After the end of the 2nd season, the show was never on the same level.

Really good show until the last episode
Havocworm0917 July 2022
This show is really great. Season 1 is perfect and season 2 is also great. They are both well written and acted. Season 3 is not as good but still really enjoyable. The writing is not as good but the acting is still phenomenal. Season 4 starts off alright. The writing is not as good as the others but I still find some enjoyment in it. Then the ending happens and it is just terrible. It ruins the rest of the season. Seriously it is probably one of the worst endings I have ever seen. If you do want to watch this show please only watch the first 3 and skip the forth. It will be a much better experience.

10 stars until the last season
edwardeggers15 April 2022
This was one of the best shows of all time. It had it all. Action, mystery, suspense, a dash of gore , thrills, and the perfect amount of comedy. Seasons one, two, and most of three were superb. Then came along season 4. It started off o.k.ish Then turned into a dumpster fire. The acting is always top notch. The writing got worse and worse. The directing went off the rails. It's like they wanted to leave out all the good stuff and turn it into some mushy romcom. It was bad. It had a few good moments but that last season was ugh!! Would of been a perfect 10 for this show but season four took it to an 8.

Season 3_ A tasteless farce with a rating of 4
cjonesas28 June 2020
It takes a lot of creativity to destroy a wonderful show like Killing Eve in its third season. Even if the writers and producers would have wanted to do that on purpose, I doubt that they could have been more successful.

What started as a super interesting and intense show on its first season quickly went off the rail with its second one, but was nonetheless still interesting, watchable and relatable.

With the season 3, we have a farce and shadow of a show where through its 8 episodes, we see basically nothing of interest and contributing to the real story, besides fillers after fillers, joke acting from all of the actors, thinking that playing crazy, looking intensely with tears in the eyes or with round eyes and gaping mouths would make up for the ultra-bad storyline and plot and create some award-worthy and memorable scenes. Even Kim Bodnia was wasted in this season.

When a fan of Killing Eve, criticizes the season so harshly, then you have a pretty good idea what non-fans would do.

Stop titling it Killing Eve, make another season named Villanelle (novel) _part 4_ or whatever alike and put it on the shelves of ruined opportunities for good.

Killing Eve: A Satisfying, Oddly Hilarious Thriller
aaronredis22 April 2018
WOW! Wow, wow, wow! You guys are definitely going to want to give this show a try! It's so intriguing, refreshing, engaging, and oddly / darkly humorous. This series shows a lot of promise and I really hope it stays on this track, because if it does, it will definitely become a favorite.

Now that we have my initial impressions out of the way, here's what I will say:

I am so impressed with this show. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to like it, but, boy, does this first episode impress. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Something about this show has me oddly hooked Something about it leaves me wanting MORE! I love the music choices, the acting is superb, and so is the directing. All excellent.

Another thing: this show has some odd sense of humor and I LOVE it! I found myself laughing, and that was the last thing I expected.

Several times, I thought to myself: OMG why am I laughing at this right now? I'm a terrible human being!

Perhaps the best part of this is show's cast is seeing that Sandra Oh finally got the role she deserves. She kills all of her scenes -- just like everyone else -- but it's clear to see she sticks out from the rest of the cast. -I was so happy when she appeared on one my most favorite shows last year, "American Crime," but her appearance was less than a guest appearance. (I bet that was due to the budget cuts and reduced season length, which ultimately led to season 3's different set up that many hated but I personally loved.) For that reason, though, I was disappointed in not seeing her as much, but she still amazed me and did so great with Regina King. I've been missing "American Crime" so much, and I think this show can fill that void in some aspects. Oh is just amazing.

Speaking of Oh, I started watching this solely because she's in it. And I am so pleased it's actually an awesome show.

I'll surely be sticking around for this one. I'm even happier to know that there will be a season 2 because I'm interested in seeing where this is going.

I give "Killing Eve" an 8.5/10.

Kids' TV for grown-ups
paul2001sw-12 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Imagine a spy thriller where the heroine was an ordinary woman who never intended to get into the game. And her nemesis was a cross between a Bond girl and a Bind villain. And that, in the course of their encounters, they developed a lesbian crush. It sounds very silly, and in one sense 'Killing Eve' is exactly that, but at the same time, it's played almost straight: each time Eve finds herself in a preposterous situation, she raises her eyebrows even as she lives it. Ultimately, however it's not quite funny enough to make one split one's sides, while it's too daft to be wholly engrossing. If I was to sum it up, I'd say it's best described as kids' TV for adults. If you take it on those terms, it's a success.

Terrible series finale, skip season 4
phynesse7224 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Killing Eve should have ended at season 3. The whole of season 4 was wasted time--especially the first two episodes with the pastor & daughter it only slightly picked up on the third episode and by the eighth I was done. Why do villains need to find redemption? Just let them be villains. V was good at killing without remorse. Stop trying to turn villains into sympathetic characters. The final episode was a huge disappointment. So many unanswered questions about the twelve, who killed Kenny and too little, too late with V and Eve. Comer was terribly underused in season 4 compared with season 1 and too much screen time was wasted on pointless new characters.

Great first Season.
ElliotMenez25 October 2018
There are many good thrillers out there, where believability and plot are the keys to success but they all feel so similar. So here comes Killing Eve, where plots takes the second plane and the focus goes to the characters dinamic and their tongue-in-cheek dialogues, making this show feels different, fresh and entertaining and with an 8 episodes season it's short and sweet.

Very good with a "but"
kirail15 January 2019
The show is very good, and Jodi Comer's acting is not getting enough praise (compared to that of Sandra Oh's) because she is really brilliant in this role.

As a Russian-speaker though - I have to say the respective parts were not good, because if you're gonna have non-Russians speak the language - do some better research and make it sound more authentic. There was some lines I couldn't even understand what they were saying in Russian. If you translate the script from English to Russian literally - that's very amateur. We don't say "Konstantin who?", we say "Which Konstantin?" - it's basics that could be covered easily and would add a better quality to the show.

Very addictive
TheLittleSongbird14 February 2023
'Killing Eve' was very highly recommended by close friends and family (most with very similar taste to me), and the way it was advertised was so attention grabbing with the real potential to be binge watch worthy. Decided to watch it during lockdown when looking for new shows to get into and binge watch, and hopefully something consistently compelling and not one of those "not sure whether to continue" sort of shows (which has been known to happen).

For the first two seasons, 'Killing Eve' was hugely compelling and compulsive viewing and very quickly became one of the most addictive shows watched during lockdown. Had not been as addicted to a show since 'Gilmore Girls' and Showtimes' 'The Borgias' the previous year. Did enjoy Season 3 more than most, despite it being not being anywhere near as good as the previous two. Do agree that Season 4 was a massive disappointment, especially the final episode.

Starting with the positives, the acting was consistently good to wonderful even in the show's decline. Especially from the revelation that is Jodie Comer, incredibly chilling and showing real chameleon-like versatility as one of the most fascinating characters of any show in recent years. Sandra Oh shouldn't be overlooked though, she is commanding and committed and shows no signs of being taxed. She and Comer have wonderful chemistry together, sizzling at its best. Kim Bodnia steals every scene he's in and Fiona Shaw, one of the better things about Season 3, brings nuanced authority to her role. Adrian Scarborough and Harriet Walter make memorable contributions.

It is a very slick and stylish looking show, loved the thriller film like photography. The music is suitably haunting. The writing at its best was full of intrigue and entertained, chilled and moved. The storylines were extremely compelling and clever in the first half of 'Killing Eve's' run, especially in the excellent first season, with some great suspense, genuine creepiness and unexpected turns.

The characters were interesting, with Villanelle being an unforgettable creation.

As said however, Season 4 was a massive disappointment and felt like a different show. Gone was the suspense, creepiness and intriguing intricacy and was instead replaced by complete nonsense, repetition and convolution as well as a very rushed pace. Anybody that found any of the storytelling in Season 3 muddled and silly (and there were times where it was both) will find that season coherent and subtle in comparison. Also found the writing over the top in some places and phoned in run out of ideas like in others.

Particularly guilty of this is the understandably universally panned finale, which is for me the worst show finale since the US 'House of Cards'. Much too rushed, very anti-climactic and made no sense and even the cast seemed at sea.

Overall, really enjoyed 'Killing Eve' and found it really addictive but it is so unfortunate and anger inducing that a show that started off so great ended as badly as it did. 8/10.

Season 1 is a must watch
julietcb17 April 2022
Killing Eve season one might be my favorite season of a show ever. It's just a magical experience. Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh are both sensational in it. Season 2 is also great, season 3 is good, but unfortunately I believe season 4 did not match expectations. It honestly kind of ruined the series for me, it feels like the season 4 show runner did not do justice to the wonderful characters this show had. I'm still leaving my 10/10 rating because earlier seasons still deserve it. I wish I could relive the excitement I felt from watching season 1 for the first time!

THE END (beware spoilers)
tickingcrocodile15 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I get how Villanelle dying and thereby saving Eve is the right kind of ending from a writers perspective.

BUT... the way the last quarter of the episode progresses, seems somehow sloppy and anticlimactic to me.

3 factors in particular felt so out of place, that they completely broke my immersion.

1) The whole thing about killing the Twelve just all of the sudden is a piece of cake, when 4 seasons long we were told the opposite. All along the story had built up the expectation, that the encounter with and the liquidation of the Twelve, would not only require immense preparation, strategy and cunning but also at least SOME sense of jeopardy and effort. It didn't feel credible enough, even for a show that likes to stretch the boundaries of the realistic every now and then.

2) The bullets that eventually end Villanelles life are being shot several meters through the water of the Thames... Well... two things about that simply make no sense.

One being, that when a bullet is shot through water, it looses its speed so rapidly, that such an impact might have left a bruise or at best maybe even a broken rib if the laws of physics were to be generous for dramatic effect.

Certainly though, it wouldn't keep on traveling in a straight line puncturing the intended target, instead of sloping downwards while visibly slowing down and eventually bouncing off the target (if said target somehow still were on the bullets altered course, that is).

Also, I fail to see how Caroline manages to aim at AND hit her underwater target. It's the Thames, guys!

A river so dirty that nothing under the surface can be seen even in broad daylight, not to mention AT NIGHT and from the other side of the 250-ish meter (820 ft) wide river bed.

3) We are left with the desperate screams of Eve.

If Villanelles death was supposed to mean anything, its meaning is lost because the viewer is not allowed to see how this sacrifice is meant to benefit Eve to triumph in the end. Instead the viewer is witness to that outcry of helplessness, anguish and despair. The sound of a brutal rupture, a separation so cruel and a loss that cuts so deep, because after their entire gruesome ordeal, they have only just arrived at the beginning of their inevitable connection.

One bloodcurdling scream, there in the water - THE END - no resolution whatsoever. No rising from the ashes, no ace up Eves sleeve, no revenge, no hope, not one more step.

I don't mind when the storytelling intentionally leaves the recipient unsatisfied with an ending. But the decisions that were made for these scenes seemed entirely uncharacteristic and lacked the usual cleverness and sophistication of this otherwise brilliant show.

Awesome Blown Away Scenes by Sandra
heatherjames-6993710 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I was drawn to watching Killing Eve as it has Sandra Oh and I must say she is consistently awesome from series 1 to 4 although unfortunately the storyline has somewhat declined.

Sandra's acting is brilliant with emotions and actions that are on point. Just watched 4x7 and I must say she slayed the therapy & karaoke scenes. She is very versatile and nuanced her parts very well with a range of emotions, different degrees of intensity and depth of feelings.

In the karaoke scene, she switches so naturally from a happy carefree expression to one that is sad and painful as she recalled her loved ones. The mixed of emotions is very skilfully and convincingly brought across.

In the therapy scene, her facial expressions and the physical body actions such as the shaking of the leg and finger movements conjure an image that is so real that I feel a rush of emotions and heartaches with her.

There are also scenes with Helene that are so amazing to watch due to the suspense and comedic elements that she infused. So many iconic performances in this final series from Sandra. Enjoying it!

Excellent Acting but Lousy Story Line
gregory-186-84777210 July 2018
It's a pleasure to watch Sandra Oh. Her performance and that of a number of the other players is a treat. However, I just can't set aside the horrible story lines. The plot of an international elite killer chased by a dedicated police officer has been with us since Victor Hugo. It should be done better. How is it that so few are aware of weekly high profile international assassinations? How is it that MI-5, the police, is not involved but MI-6, the spies, is? How is it that INTERPOL has not seen the weekly carnage and launched investigations. Why has the assassin left fingerprints at every killing? Why has no agency collected them?

Villanelle is amazing
gphgrm0119 April 2019
Intriguing show, with certain flows. The character of the professional killer is absolutely stunning. Fabulous performance. The best female villain I have ever seen. You should just forget about the story plot, and just watch her face, her movement and her interractions with people. The best female-antiheroine capable of doing anything. Although she is a villain, she is fascinating.

As for Eve, not such a brilliant situation. We all know Sandra Oh from Grey's Anatomy where she played a weird emotionless brilliant surgeon. However, here Eve was made too soft, too homey, too wifey, too naive for my taste. And her acting is far more boring.

Otherwise, the cast is great scenery is great, and I appreciate that Moscow was not shown as a poor dump, but a place where rich and powerful people live as well, with luxurious places to go, etc, which is really closer to the truth nowadays.

Big Changes
speakmeagain20 March 2022
Killing Eve must have changed their writers as the latest series (4) is absolute rubbish. No real plot and/or content and the majority of the scenes now are jst very poor and fail to hold interest. The series used to be exciting and interesting but not any more.

Season 4 started off poorly...
wsv-2903626 May 2022
... but picked up nicely after Episode 3. I found the remainder of the Season very entertaining. Seeing as I'm Canadian I am a bit biased as Sandra Oh too is Canadian and I've always thought that she's a good actor. I loved her in Sideways amd pretty much every film and TV show she's been in since. I think that she's done a great job of "growing" the character Eve in this series and I think that she and Jodie Comer created some excellent chemistry together. Obviously Killing Eve isn't for everyone but one the the main reasons I love the series is it's emphasis on strong, courageous, vulnerable and competent women! I'm a 60 year old dude and I love that about this series that shows that women really can do anything a man can do!
