Series that very easy to watch

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Cobra Kai" is a series that are very involvingly written, acted and directed. They are very short, story is kinda predictable and sometimes reminds me of a soap opera, but at the same time is so good to see this universe to return in times when you wouldn't expect it to. I was surprised of how involved i became into this story.

Overall, with only 3 episodes left, i'm looking forward to see them in season 1.

Charisma abounds.

I just want to hand it to both protagonists! What amazing screen presence they both have... And knowing they are the two that fought each other back in '84 just makes it all so much better.

The two of them are deft at swapping positions from borderline-douchbag to hard-done-by champion in the space of an episode. They are in equal measure cynical and sympathetic as well at times both kind or cold.

I love that there is no "bad guy" in this series, just people trying to make the best of what they have.

You, the viewer, find yourself rooting for all involved as the show puts on display the best of humanity beset by hardship.

Feel-good-viewing done right!

Evolution of the characters!
mm-3919 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The character evolution has began. Threw Johnny's suffering John learns new method from his star student, as the review board hears Cobra Kai's argument to get reinstated for All Valley Karate tournament. Danial has a new student, which Danial does not realize is John's kid, who needs the approach of balance which Danial's Karate teaches. Both Zabka and Machio have a strong screen presence. The story unfolds of the forming of a rivalry of new Dojos. Creating the divide bigger Danial's daughter is dating Cobra Kai's star student. Cobra Kai is a balance of realism, soap opera, and action. Each character has there own motives and faults. The story goes full circle as Danial is Mr M teaching a lost younger version of Danial. This protege is angry has family and father issues. Looking at Danial as a father figure. I wonder if the talented protege will surpass the master one day. 9 stars.

Red Band Trifecka

Three stories going on at the same time and all of them are edge of your seat in completely different ways...

One's a first date, at the Golf N Stuff... first dates are always intriguing... Then of course the titular attempt to sign up for the All Valley, for which the main titular Cobra Kai has been banned, leading to another standoff between Daniel and Johnny...

And then there's Johnny's son standing up to his tweeker buddies (who seem like they'd be good bad guys if they sold meth for Jesse on Breaking Bad)...

So it's an episode that could very well be the best of the entire series that, at this point, has gone down in quality... but it still pretty great and... well...

THESE first two "Red Band" Seasons were the great old days.

The Writers changed everyone's opinion
T-ZER027 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I don't hate this episode at all, I like this show a lot. But I have to get this out because it's all over the Internet ever since this show premiered. It's a good idea to make Johnny Lawrence the focus, but everyone on the internet now thinks of Daniel Larusso, the original Karate Kid, as the main villain of this show.

I'm being honest, Daniel has good reason for not wanting Cobra Kai there. Johnny was about to injure him badly on the first film of Miyagi hadn't intervened, and on the third one, Terry Silver and Mike Barnes we're tormenting him throughout the film. A young kid getting tormented by adults and a bully will be enough to probably scar them for life.

I just wish the internet would stop believing that crap that Daniel is a villain now. Because it makes me ashamed that we grew up with the original movies and that Cobra Kai is trying to make sure we acknowledge that they happened, but not acknowledge that we know who was the clear aggressor back then. 😔😔
