Will Ferrell is to team up with Netflix to bring his Eurovision film to life for the streaming giant in the lead for the comedy.
Ferrell will also co-write the feature alongside Saturday Night Live alum Andrew Steele. The pair last worked together on HBO’s The Royal Wedding Live With Cord and Tish!.
The plotline is currently under wraps on the production but the Eurovision song contest, often simply called Eurovision, is an international song competition held primarily among the member countries of the European Union. Each participating country submits an original song to be performed on live television and radio, then casts votes for the other countries’ songs to determine the winner. Over 40 countries are currently eligible to compete and since 2015 Australia has been allowed as a guest entrant. It’s become a haven for the ridiculous and zany performances and song lyrics of the many artists that take part.

If you had high hopes for Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon's live coverage of the royal wedding, don't worry - they delivered. The pair teamed up for HBO's The Royal Wedding Live With Cord and Tish!, which was produced by Funny or Die. As "broadcast legends" Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan, Ferrell and Shannon cracked up viewers with their play-by-play commentary on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's big day.
Like something straight out of their Saturday Night Live days, the duo spontaneously broke into song as the newlyweds shared their first kiss. And what better song to serenade viewers with than the catchy Kay Jewelers jingle, right? Ferrell and Shannon were truly on a roll, so even if you aren't as obsessed with the royal family as the rest of the world, you definitely need to see the funny clips.
Every kiss begins with..... #RoyalWedding #CordAndTish pic.
