"The Crime Scene" is another very solid, very funny episode. Being a bottle episode, its structure is similar to "The Box" (season 5), which is by far the best episode of the entire series. "The Crime Scene" does not reach that high, but it is very entertaining nevertheless.
It felt almost refreshing to finally see the characters do actual police work. The CSI guy was hilarious and I would not mind seeing him again. Andy Samberg and Stephanie Beatriz showed again that they work very well together.
In conclusion I would definitely like to see another bottle episode, because the tight set-up really gives the story enough time to evolve.

The Crime Scene

Warning: Spoilers
Season 6 has seen this show take some risks and this was a prime example as most of the episode revolved around and Jake and Rosa at the scene of a crime trying to crack the case.
It had jokes, but if you're a fan of procedurals you surely got something out of this too. Definitely recommend this episode.

The crime scene focuses on jake and Rosa, which I thought was brilliant. Their almost opposite personalities make this episode so special, this episode was almost completely about the one case and didn't get put off by Less interesting B stories like the show sometimes can, they have done this before with the episode "the box" last season. (which is one of my personal favorites) keep it up nine nine!!
Hilarious episode!!

It's only been two years since I've gotten into this series but I loved every minute of it. This episode felt like classic Brooklyn Nine Nine and Andy Samberg in this episode was so hilarious and had me laughing from start to finish
The pairing of Rosa and Jake worked so well here and the use of the other characters was so cleverly done.
The scene with Holt, Jake and Rosa was so amusing.
So glad this show is back and S6 has not disappointed me so far

Sometimes you forget Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a cop show!

Warning: Spoilers
'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' knows the sitcom formula and how to successfully use it. It is essentially a workplace sitcom with big personalities filling in. It's no detraction but really you could do a show like 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' anywhere. How often did they really deeply dive into the paper industry in 'The Office' right? That's why it's kind of jarring when we actually see a bloody murder scene. It makes it a tough sell because you want to have these stakes but you do not want to be morose or depressing.
I think this is one of the better character 'Nine-Nines' especially with Jake Peralta. He's a character that hides behind layers of irony and a macho facade. To see him conflicted by making that promise no cop should ever make is much deeper than a lot of "Nine-Nine" dares to go. 'The Crime Scene' isn't a very funny episode but not every episode of your favorite sitcoms need to be hilarious. We want to relate to our characters and give the actors something deeper than the catch phrases. Stephanie Beatriz and Andy Samberg add just a little more nuance here. We see behind the surface there's some vulnerability behind the canned laughter.
What brings this episode down a notch is Michael Mosley and his irritating portrayal of CSI investigate Franco McCoy. The character is Peralta doing his 'Die Hard' bit without Andy Samberg winking at the ridiculousness of it. I really hope this guy is a one shot because whenever he popped up he took away from Rosa and Jake.

It takes a lot of sensitivity to do a comedy show where the characters are dealing with crime. Finally B99 has tripped up in Season 6. The opening scene with Jake acting giddy with fun and excitement while standing next to a dead man's body because he's at a "dope" murder crime scene is distasteful to watch.
