Gave this movie a chance based solely on the star rating system, I hope whoever gave the 9 and 10 star reviews got paid well cause they did a better acting job than those in the movie. A lot of running around, screaming, cringe-worthy attempts at love scenes, and yes, really bad acting.

What a waste...

Warning: Spoilers
I gave this movie a shot, mostly because it was filmed and set in an actual haunted house with a documented history. How badly could the film makers botch that, I thought to myself, prior to watching the film. I meant it as a rhetorical question.
As it turns out, they managed to botch things quite badly. The movie is only 65 minutes long; did we really need a solid five minutes of the character, Kelly (Victoria Oliver), screaming, "No no no no no!" towards the end of the film? The closing montage was equally imbecelic.
Kelly is there.
Then she isn't.
Then she is.
Then she isn't.
Then she is.
Then she isn't.
I gave it a rating of three stars purely based on the location, and the supposed history of Hinsdale House.

This film was terrible... I trusted the score to later find out that it's bs.. They obviously had bots upvote this turd because it's honestly a 2/10...I should of scrolled down more and read the real reviews.. If this saves you 65 mins of your life.. Your welcome..

The line in this review's title is spoken toward the beginning and again at the end of the "film." Based on having watched it all the way through, it's a tough statement to argue against. Mostly found footage that oughtta shoulda remained lost, as very little happens and what does is nonsensical, poorly scripted, and shot even worse. Toward the end, one of the characters spends what seems like days looking through the little farmhouse for her comrades, only to finally find them entranced, chanting in a circle (how she didn't hear them is just one of the abundant perplexing idiocies on display here.) Before she breaks down sobbing like a four year-old who wants attention (literally: "Whaaaa-aaa-aaa....pause...Whaaaa-aaa-aaa"), she implores her friends to "WAKE UP! WAKE UP!!" I thought to myself, much better to sleep than to watch this dreck.
Ironically I see another reviewer here said there were "spoilers" in their review. How can one "spoil" the pointlessly plotless?

unwatchable.

The camera glitch effects so overused throughout the movie make the actual story seem secondary. this couldve been a fun little haunted house flick, but who cares when its all glitchy scenery shots? its a gag, and a lazy editing toy gone completely out of control. stay away.
Fails on so many levels, do not watch this.

As a fan of horror, and movies in general, I find this crapfest was just awful. Writing, acting, casting, camera work, wardrobe, audio, everything was just the worst. I have seen a few as bad as Blair Witch, this was actually worse. The "static" or "interference" effect on the cameras I thought was being used to mask the fact they had no real budget for a good effect, my wife mentioned that maybe they could not even afford decent remote cameras and decided to use the defect as spiritual static. Either way it became annoying very quickly. Do anything else with that hour and six minutes, your life will be better for it.
Does not even deserve 1 star

This is an indie-flick meaning they had a small budget and I see what they were trying to do. The idea was there, the actors gave it all they got and the storyline though a little choppy at times still I thought was worthy of a watch. I thought the film could be a little shorter mabye then some of these people on here would complain less but it wasn't bad by any means.
65 minutes too long

Warning: Spoilers
So many things wrong with this film. First of all the actors need some or maybe allot of acting classes. Secondly, too much time was spent on still images - probably why the film went on for 65 minutes! The story line? What story line? No plot, no direction. At least create a backdrop for the film so audience can at least understand what is going on. Be creative. Half of the film was basically showing us what the camera is seeing, and most of it, as I mentioned were still pics. Even the IR camera shots were boring. I'll stop right here.........
1:05 minutes I will never get back..... TERRIBLE

Been there before all the Hype

Before this became a ghost hunting attraction, we were invited to visit, by the previous owners. I along with a priest and another person, spent 2 nights there, dont believe everything you see or read online about this place, the movie is a joke, I will say, I felt somewhat ill while in the house. There was no unseen movment, shadows, or demonic voices. Its was an old, falling apart house with some kind of myth. I would not venture to say it was haunted, maybe mold ridden, delapodated, and in a shambles, but demons or ghosts? NO!
Don't fall for the 5.4 rating
Rancid_Planet24 February 2020
This movie has clearly had its score bumped up by a campaign to promote it. This movie makes Bad Ben look like Ben Hur. It's boring, slow, badly directed, badly acted, poorly told and pointless. A first year film student could have made a better film. My 10 year old could have made a better film.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
Suicidal after watching.. Its that bad
veeraj-9780119 April 2020
Its actually not a horror movie but a horrific one.. This movie contains everything from super bad directing to super duper bad casting to waste the precious 65 minutes of your life.. Imo the director fixated the camera on some scenes for a long period of time just to make the movie last longer because it's got no real content .. Don't believe the ratings.. You gonna regret it
Terrible, terrible, terrible

BAD. BAD. BAD.
ericachristine12 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There's no reason for some of the ridiculous over (bad) acting in this movie. The cameras squelch out and go nuts for no reason. Nothing moves around on its own. One girl yells out the window at a guy walking down to some water like he's being chased my Jason Vorhees. It's just BAD. And I'll usually like some of the haunted house, caught on camera movies. Devil's Due, The Possession of Michael... forget the last name. This was SO BAD.
Lured in by the reviews
robertbeare23 November 2020
Unfortunately one of those where I was lured in by the 5.6/10 review. No horror film is perfect, but this isn't a horror film, I'd find it hard to even call it a film.
It's not good, you'll realise that within the first two minutes, the terrible acting and dialogue. The camera work is shoddy, and it appears that whoever made the film has just discovered they can include filters whilst editing. (They include a lot)
We hoped that if we just stuck with it, there might be some comedic value in it, apart from one quote that made us laugh, that was it. No build up, no real conclusion
It is very much what you'd expect of student film. There was one or two shots, close up macro/focus shots that actually looked great, but they're so good they might just be stock footage and someone else's work.
Please avoid this.

Famous Haunted house
lucascinematic9 January 2020
This has all the elements of a good scary movie. The films about a crew that go to the house to film though being warned of potential dangers. What could go wrong right! That's when the fun begins, it was a fun watch.
The idea was there
joyisacrazymoviefan6 January 2020
We did the real Hinsdale lockdown tour a few months back so when I seen the trailer for this I had to check it out. Worth a watch, they had some good parts and some not so good parts but I'm giving it a 7 because they managed to scare me many times and had me at the edge of my seat also.
If you really need a headache.
Mreldridge18 January 2020
It was so bad that both me and my brother ended up with headaches. The acting was terrible and there was no real story to it. Some cheesy cheep flickering screen effects was about it for this movie. If this actually scared anyone they should probably get out more.
