So far out of this series this to me is the funniest episode, not to say the other episodes don't deliver, but this one had me crying.

Bloody Hell. He's wearing two ruffs.

This is the episode, in my opinion, that moves What We Do In The Shadows from the best comedy of the year to one of the best comedies of all time.

The episodes before this one are brilliant, and absolutely top-tier compared to other contemporary comedies but didn't really surpass the unbelievably high standards that the movie set. However, this episode is as funny as the movie, which means its high on the list of the funniest things of the last 50 years.

From the double ruffs to the Baron karaoke singing The Zombies. One of the single funniest episodes in any series of all time.

This episode is the one I keep returning to watch everytime I want to have a great time. It may be the funniest of the whole TV show and, man, it never gets old.

I have never lol-led so hard for a comedy tv series in a long long time. This one had me in stitches. Made me a complete fan of the show! Excellent!

The baron is extremely hilarious and the sheer absurdity of the show is ridiculously funny.

I laughed so much during this episode. I love Doug Jones' Baron. The end with the tainted blood was very funny.

MOVe OVer Ancient ONe from Buffy

YEs I know my words were jumbled, but that tis ze point. Imagine of the ancient one, the elder vampire from buffy the vampire slayer, the show, not that one film...imagine if he was going out for a night on the town and really ripped things up. Drinking blood is one thing, but for a vamp to trip ze light fantastique? They gotta drink the blood of somebody on drugs or drunk to get the same effect. And they do. And they did. AND WHOA! THis was hilarious. I dont even care that the situations are taken from the movie, rewritten somewhat, they work. This was fun and I wish I was there dancing to that music in the final club scene.

This episode will make you fall in love with the Barren Baron. One of the best episodes of all, with absurdity in every scene. It made me laugh out loud and want more of the evil-affable Baron. Over-the-top funny!

Hilarious episode
r-a-1968837 January 2024
The dynamic between the vampires is amazing here and this is definitely one of the most memorable episodes of the show. The Baron is definitely one of my favourite side characters as well which makes it charming, and he's used very well. The ending to the episode is such a shock too that has ripple effects across a good portion of the show, which is nice considering a lot of the show's episodes are somewhat standalone, but a good piece of character development is very nice.

If I were to recommend anyone What We Do In The Shadows and they wanted me to show them the episode that'd be best for getting someone into the show (not necessarily the best episode ever) I'd show this one.

He Just Wants to Have Fun
Hitchcoc30 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The Baron, rested after arriving, wants to see the sights in New York. He is taken to places most people go. He wants to do shots (which means draining the blood from several people). He goes to a disco. He sings Karaoke (doing a hit by the Zombies). He is so terrifying to everyone. They end up drinking the blood of druggies and become high themselves. He is in the worst condition. For the first time we see the effects of sunlight. The most intense scene is where they are sitting around talking and the threesome stupidly mention they had planned to kill him--but it is only a joke. Guillermo unknowingly ends up making the ultimate decision on the fate of the Baron.

Baron's Night Out
bobcobb3012 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Baron is still not a character that interests me, but he was obviously better here than in his last appearance.

A funny episode though, until the drug use part. Such a played out trope on sitcoms that isn't funny.
