Citizenship

Warning: Spoilers
Hardly any Laszlo in this episode, which is definitely disappointing, but for the first time he wasn't the best character. Nandor stole the show here with his love of his homeland his bizarre worship of the 1992 Dream Team.

Yet another solid Shadows.

The Dream Team

Nandor is quite wonderful in this one. First of all there is sadness in him, knowing that the country he ruled has not existed for 400 years. He had pledged his allegiance to the first Olympic basketball team made up of pros. The greatest single team the world has known. Finally, he decides that he must be grounded by becoming a United States citizen. He is asked questions by the immigration officer, and, of course, makes everything up. He tries to manipulate the guy, but realizes this man has no soul so he can't be hypnotized. But Guillermo saves the day...again. In the other plot, Nadja need to get Jenna to suck the blood of her first human. This is necessary for her to be full fledged. She is so timid, however, it takes forever to get her to act.

very common

Just another episode of this show, nothing remarkable and there is little humor. And also is full of parody of America's regulations and stuff.

Another episode with lots of humor

Kavan kills it again in this episode, realizing his home country has vanished 600 years ago and then trying to become an american citizen. His portrayal of Nandor is so spot on, a perfect mixture of cute naive, sometimes bossy and a little sentimental. I love his performance, perfectly complemented by Harvey Guillen's familiar. Also the second story around Nadja's newly created vampire spawn had some very funny moments. This series is really a tv comedy gem, highly enjoyable

Vampire Baby

Warning: Spoilers
BEST BITS: Macarena swept the nation, Jenna biting her lip with her fangs, America's first gay president, Nadja dragging out the 'big boy' and her impression of frat bros before hypnotising them to go eat bricks and them absolutely living to be her slave, Jenna having the power of invisibility as foreshadowed and then storing the extra blood via water bottle after her kill. The Blade helmet scene at the end as Jenna and Nadja watch the sunset was touching and beautifully coloured and silhouetted before it switches up to immediate regret.

Overall a solid episode playing on the antics of American citizenship for a centuries old vampire struggling with homesickness, paired with the challenging transition of a newborn vampire.
