Deborah Chow Strikes Again
holacutecoffee18 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. Best episode of the season so far for me. After directing episode 3 and then this one, Deborah Chow is clearly an amazing director and should utilised well in Star Wars going forwards. I almost cried at the end. So sad. Kuiil deserved so much better. I have spoken.

Back to everything we wanted to see, and the promise of the first 3 episodes
kcmcc-0054218 December 2019
Man was this a great epi! After a couple of adventure-of-the-week episodes, we land back on the main plot here, and pretty much get an appearance from each one of our favorite characters.

The entrance of Giancarlo Esposito does not disappoint, nor does the shocking ending. Definitely my favorite epi of the bunch. Landing somewhere between a 9 and a 10.

Wow.

Deborah Chow has me really excited with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series from the two episodes she has directed. Chapter 3 and 7. I love this episode for how it starts, how it builds up and how it ends this is either my favorite episode or really close with Deborah Chow's other outing in The Mandalorian Chapter 3. And I'm excited for the finale and season 2. Hopefully Rise of Skywalker can at least be decent and make this a good year for Star Wars

I watched this after I watched Rise of Skywalker...
vault13-347-48533518 December 2019
...and it makes me even angrier. If disney wanted a good star wars trilogy they obviously had the people to do it! And their names are Filoni, Chow, Favreau. But no. They had to go with Abrams and Johnson and you know the results. The Rise Of Skywalker is a piece of trash, the whole trilogy is, and this episode even if its just 30 minutes long tops it in every possible way. Thanks Deborah Chow, another great episode from you. I really hope they'll give you your chance for a full feature SW film in the near future! You absolutely deserve it.

Warning: Spoilers
That quite literally may have been one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen. I obviously have a huge bias being a massive fan of Star Wars but this was everything I hoped the mandalorian would be and a whole lot more. My heart was pounding the whole way through and that cliffhanger had me dead.

"Chewie, we're home."

Superbly directed, smoothly paced and featuring excellent chemistry between the characters, this must come close to thirty five of the best minutes of any Star Wars ever made. Within the first few scenes, you will be quoting Admiral Akbar, but stay calm and enjoy the ride, there are a couple of humdinger twists that will leave you choked.

The greatest Star Wars episode ever made.
TheFirst0118 December 2019
I say this, and the finale is now bound to be a great episode. This episode simply took it back to what made The Mandalorian great in the first 3 episodes. Let me start by saying that one of my first few problems with the series as it went on after episode 3, it's that those episodes didn't manage to connect the storylines from the first 3 episodes (I won't say how cause spoilers.) In conclusion, this episode made it back to what the series should be. The series was always good, but this one took it up a notch, and Baby Yoda? I might start to say he is the mvp. Overall a fantastic episode that amps up the intrigue, suspense, thrills, and wow factor. All hail Deborah Chow and the Mandalorian is back!

And you expect me to wait 9 days for the continuation of THAT!?

Back to the old twisting bounty hunter-stories with betrayals and objectives. This episode gives us some breathtaking twists that do no harm criticly. "Baby Yoda" is adorable as always, and we also get some scenes that nicely ties in to the earlier episodes, bringing back charmin characters. I would say that the only chapter I wasn't crasy about was the fourth. But the mandalorian is a great show and I consider this episode to be one of the better ones! 10/10

Insulting

Warning: Spoilers
At the core the show is really good. I mean it's a western/ronin epos set in the Star Wars universe, can't really go wrong can it?

Well, besides some poor acting and dialog this episode suffers like all the previous ones by incredibly silly decision making. The guild master (or whatever his title is) lets the mandalorian know that the plan was to kill him and take the kid. Really? We´re supposed to belive that he is that mentally challenged? In his escape in ep3 the mandalorian single handeldy offed around 20 mercs before his backup arrived and now the guild master means to kill him with 3?

Sure, the original plan might have been that they would kill the mandalorian once in town with the help of imperials but he then instructed the 2 remaining mercs to kill them before they reach the outpost when he changed his mind. However, if that's the case, that would mean that these 2 mercs have no clue what so ever who the mandalorian is or what he is capable of (or that his armor is literally bullet proof) which I find to be far fetched at best.

With that said, I am enjoying the show, I just wish they treated their viewers with more respect. It is after all one of the worlds biggest IPs in the hands of one of the worlds richest companies, I think we should be allowed to expect more than this.

Not a fan
jtauscher19 December 2019
I felt like there was some real lazy writing going on in this episode. How could he possibly have expected anything different from what happened. Mandalorian is way to smart to fall for this episodes crap. I love this series I really hope it picks back up.

Lesson learned
nathanhalliday-1308918 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If Deborah Chow is directing it's gonna be a really good episode. Finally the story has resumed from the 3rd episode and gave us possibly the best episode yet. We finally see just how strong with the force The Child is and get a new mysterious villain with what looks like a decent sized army despite the Empire being destroyed. We are left on a cliffhanger with The Child in imperial hands and Mando's crew in a seemingly impossible position. Can't wait for the season finale!

Decent start, amazing end

Warning: Spoilers
The episode picks up quite slowly, visiting the planets we've seen in previous episodes and building up a small team. After the initial build up with Greef Karga on Nevarro and the battle with those birdcreatures the real juicy stuff begins. Everything in the city was fantastic, Star Wars at it's best! I'm really looking forward to what Moff Gideon and his (smallish) army will bring to the finale) Also: R.I.P. Kuill - the real MVP of this episode!

WOW
Segaz_18 December 2019
All episodes before were good, 2 of them were great, but neihter of them could do such things, that episdode provides. IMHO, every twist was unpredictable, i was shocked in the end, i thought that is still a Disney\12+ style TV series, but it made me thinking, if it's the best SW project. What i expected less, is the cliffhanger ending like this, i didn't see that coming from SW. The best episode ever!

Finally the story progresses, and fabulously so
aarongnr18 December 2019
I didn't like the last few episodes, but this one restored my faith in the series. Thrilling, captivating, intense.

It wasn't perfect, it had a few pacing issues, but honestly I didn't really care. Unlike with the last few episodes, I can't really find any bigger problems with the story here, seemed pretty flawless to me.

The twists in this were unexpected and really well executed. Can't wait for the finale!

Ps.: I thought there was supposed to be some ROS tie-in, but whatever.

EDIT: Now we know what the "tie-in" is, and as expected, it has absolutely nothing to do with the story of TRoS.

This episode reminds me of the good old GOT, where none of the 'good' characters are untouched! By my reaction at the end of the episode (and during the reveal of what looks like a sith lord) I KNEW I was hooked on this show!

Curing my depression for episode IX
benjamn-5026619 December 2019
I felt crushed after watching the devastating movie called Rise of the skywalker, so it was truly amazing to watch this gem of an episode. Good buildup, and all over an amazing episode which was truly exciting to watch. Hope they continue this good run. Favreau my man

Hands down the BEST episode... AGAIN...
Wililjam18 December 2019
Finally back to the main plot of this season, Baby Yoda and its enemies. The setup finally paid off, at least for some of the characters. We finally have more characters to care about, thus creating more consequences for them. "Nothing can go wrong.." huh? Don't ever say that again.

The last 1/3 of this episode was extremely exciting and tense, and there was stuff that happened that I didn't expect. You know the whole Stormtrooper scene in the trailer? Yeah, that's in this episode, and it delivered. This episode is hands down the best episode of this season, and if the next episode tops this one I'm going to be beyond excited for the future of this show.

I'm quite sad now, actually, in a good way though. This episode was a 10/10 for me, ticked all the boxes.

The plans are just terrible. Why go to all the trouble with excellent graphics to be let down by the story.

As bad as it gets
aenapato23 December 2019
This episode is as bad as the paid reviewers that are applauding some director named Deborah, that obviously should do us a huge favor and get busy doing something else with their talents. Sorry for the harsh language but when you shove something down our throats with paid reviews which are dishonest and designed to promote Deborah, you should get no less than what you deserve.

The episode is underwhelming as well. Big bucks spent for a very forgettable plot. Nothing really clicks, acting varies but it is mostly poor, bad cuts, bad editing, and a bunch of wasted time and money for this whole, unfortunately, overhyped show. Pablo is great as the Mandalorian, I have to say him and baby Yoda carried the show this far, which is a great accomplishment all things considered.
