rite of passage

Warning: Spoilers
The first trait is the realism of situations. A father heading out to sea with son. The first fish catch by boy and the cold demand of man. And the presumed rite of passage.

Yes, ingredients of a horror. But not only and the key to propose a coherent - thrilling story remain the absolutely inspired acting of Steve Wall and Luke Lally.

The last part of film has the impecable coldness of lost of childhood for boy, with some Biblical reflexes in the relation with the dog.

And sure, the monster , imagined only by viewer, saw by boy, narrated by man is the axis of this metamorphosis who represents , in simple terms, coming of age , feeling more darker but not so unrealistic.

In short, well crafted film.
