It has been more than 20 years since Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s The Simple Life premiered. The reality series followed the wealthy socialites as they struggled to do manual, low-paying jobs such as cleaning rooms, farm work, serving meals in fast-food restaurants, and working as camp counselors.
The pair has now reunited on a new reality show at Peacock, the streamer confirmed. No details were revealed, but we’re told more info will be coming soon.
Hilton first revealed the news Monday in a joint post on Instagram with Richie and Peacock. “New Era,” they wrote. “Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock.” The two also can be heard singing over the sound of a static television in an accompanying video.
Hilton set the stage for a possible reunion with a May 9 Instagram post featuring early photos of the two through the years, with a reference to their nicknames for each other,...

Roadside Attractions has snagged U.S. rights to the comedy Summer Camp, starring Diane Keaton (Annie Hall), Kathy Bates (Richard Jewell) and Alfre Woodard (12 Years a Slave), on which we were first to report. Written and directed by Castille Landon (Perfect Addiction), the film is slated for release in theaters on May 31.
Summer Camp tells the story of Nora (Keaton), Ginny (Bates), and Mary (Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure — Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why.

The Future Of Music Interview is a Q&a in which our favorite artists and producers share their vision of what’s next, weighing in on everything from AI to emerging scenes to the artists inspiring them the most.
Meg Remy has been imagining radical new futures in her music for more than a decade, first on noisy, arty releases like 2011’s U.S. Girls on Kraak, and later on subtly subversive pop dreams like 2018’s In a Poem Unlimited and this year’s Bless This Mess. But the artist behind U.

Minx is thriving under Joyce's (Ophelia Lovibond) leadership, and we can't wait to see what's on tap for everyone.
Starz went public with the trailer for Minx Season 2 on Wednesday, and it shows the magazine reaching dizzying heights.
There's even a perfectly timed bit of dialogue from Jake Johnson's Doug at the beginning:
"A lot of people counted us out. But we are back and better than ever!"
Many did count the show out after HBO Max canceled Minx after one season.
We have Starz to thank for picking up Minx Season 2 because this show is a true gem, and the story deserves to be told.
It's a rarity to have such a refreshing show on the air, and thankfully, we'll have fresh episodes when Minx Season 2 debuts Friday, July 21.
The trailer promises to up the ante both on the show and for the magazine.

It's hard to believe that Minx Season 2 will finally see the light of day this summer.
After HBO Max canceled the comedy, it seemed there was no way forward.
Thankfully, Starz stepped in to save the day to give fans the second season.
The premium cabler confirmed today that Minx Season 2 will premiere on Friday, July 21, at midnight on the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
On linear, it will debut on Starz at 9 Pm Et/Pt in the U.S. and Canada.
The first season is also available to stream on the Starz app.
Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx centers around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women.
On Minx Season 2, Doug and Joyce grapple with Minx's explosive success, which brings more money, fame and temptation than either...

The film heading into production next month in North Carolina tells the story of Nora, Ginny and Mary, who have been best friends since childhood, spending their summers together inseparably at sleepaway camp. The “A League of Their Own” actress will play series regular Marianne, the loving and warm mother of Julia (Ellie Kemper), herself a working mother who struggles to balance parenting with her career. Would you believe us if we said a hologram sponsored by the government of Ontario was one of the best things we saw on the second full day of SXSW 2023? There were plenty of flesh-and-blood performances that knocked our socks off, too, as the festival hit its stride with artists big and small from across genres and decades packing the venues that make Austin one of the greatest music cities in the world. Here are our top picks from Wednesday, March 15.

Blessings are imminent, because U.S. Girls — the indie pop project of Meg Remy — return today, February 24th with the new album Bless This Mess. It’s out via 4Ad.
Turns out, while Remy was working on the follow-up to U.S. Girls’ great 2020 album Heavy Light, she was also working on something else: Twin baby boys. With a title that seems to poke fun at maternally-targeted, mass-produced Hobby Lobby wall decor, Bless This Mess captures the extremes of Remy’s emotions as a first-time mom and the nuances of procreation.
The album was made with the help of a few notable guests, including Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost! and Roger Manning Jr. of Jellyfish and Beck. One of the album’s audio engineers was Remy’s frequent collaborator Maximilian Turnbull, who just so happens to also be her husband and co-parent. Many of the takes were recorded while Remy...

In the age of revival television, it is still genuinely hard to believe that Starz is bringing the cult comedy favorite "Party Down" back for a long (long!) awaited third season, but it is indeed happening. As evidence of that, we have a brand new trailer for the new batch of episodes, which will be arriving via the premium cable channel next month. And yes, most of the original cast is back! Sadly, Lizzy Caplan isn't here as Casey Klein for another round of "will they, won't they" with Adam Scott's Henry Pollard. Be that as it may, it very much looks like the show folks like myself fell in love with. And in the third season...

The breast pump was waiting for Meg Remy at her Toronto home when returned from the hospital with twins. A friend had given it to her, even though Remy wasn’t initially sure if she’d use the machine. But with two newborns to feed, she charged it up, flipped the switch — and out came a guttural womp.
“The minute I heard it, I was like, what is this fucking sound?” says Remy, 37, bandleader and creative force behind the always-inventive, always-evolving, always-searching pop outfit U.S. Girls. “I just knew...

One of the most iconic actresses of the ’70s may be teaming up with one of the most iconic pop stars of the 2020s. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Pam Grier — the star of “Coffy,” “Foxy Brown,” and “Jackie Brown” — revealed that she’s currently working on a project she plans to star in with Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B.
“I’m writing something for me and Cardi B,” Grier told Rolling Stone.
Although she didn’t say anything further about the project, Grier shared her love for Cardi B and other current rappers like Megan Thee Stallion in the interview, praising the two’s hit “Wap,” which caused controversy and smashed streaming and Billboard chart records when it released in 2020.
“I love Cardi and ‘Wap.’ I love Megan Thee Stallion. I told her, ‘You and your artistry are beautiful. People are gonna punk you because a stallion is a male horse,...

“Judgement,” a new pilot from “Charmed” and “Sleepy Hollow” writer Joey Falco, has found a home at ABC. The series is a legal-based soap opera centered on a law firm in Washington, D.C.
“‘Judgement’ is a high-stakes legal soap that redefines the genre by playing out over two timelines. Fifteen years from now, a woman being vetted for a Supreme Court seat recounts her experience at a prominent D.C. law firm in 2023, where the only thing more controversial than the cases was her messy love life, caught between two feuding brothers,” reads a description of the show, per a press release. “Now, with a Supreme Court seat on the line, all of her darkest secrets are at risk of coming out, threatening her nomination, her reputation, and her marriage.”

No joke: Claire Scanlon knows what’s funny. The seasoned comedy director and editor has helmed episodes of everything from “The Good Place” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Bless This Mess.” She produced “Last Comic Standing.” She edited “American Masters” episodes about Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett.
And she, in no small part, helped herald the re-emergence of the rom-com thanks to her 2018 smash Netflix film “Set It Up.”
Ever-busy (the director generously Zoomed with IndieWire from the very first day of production on ABC’s new sitcom “Not Dead Yet”), Scanlon is back in the film groove with another streaming feature: Amazon’s ensemble comedy “The People We Hate at the Wedding.” And while she said she was offered “a lot” of rom-coms after the success of “Set It Up,” she’s still working through her feelings on the genre. Mostly, Scanlon is compelled by one thing: cracking that comedy code,...

U.S. Girls turn a kitschy suburban household phrase into a stunning alt-pop ballad on their new song, “Bless This Mess.”
The song harkens back to the diva ballads of yesteryear, with Meg Remy crooning about life’s constant complications and entanglements over a delicate electric piano. The track also arrives with a characteristically unique music video featuring decades-old video footage of Remy that the artist Evan Gordon manipulated to look as if she was singing the new song.
