The Batman (2022)
Spectacular
This is with no doubt one of the best batman adaptations ever made, i was lucky to watch it on the pre-release and that was also one of the first times i went to a cinema after the pandemic, that was amazing, a unique experience, matt reeves was able to not only create and adapt a "super hero" or a character, but a feeling, something that's coming and can't be controlled. The acting of both Robert Pattinson and Paul Dano is incredible to watch and the movie can pass to you all the action, the anxiety and the intensity of it all in the smoothest way possible, the flow of the story and the path matt decides to let batman go into is incomparable! The movie will give you all the chaos you want to see in a bartman movie, it will show you a imperfect batman , complex personalities and amazing mazes.
Heat (1995)
A Masterpiece
A movie with start and ending so smoothly put together, with amazing cinematography and direction, this movie creates a beautiful and intense cinematic experience!
Perfect performances by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are going to make you not be able to take your eyes off the screen. Highly recommended movie!
Her (2013)
Unique.
One of the few cinematic experiences i've ever had while watching a movie on a computer, this movie was so unique and expressed so well theodore's emotions and experiences, making me actually feel it while i watched it all. A one of a kind movie and experience that i'd recommend to anyone.
Taxi Driver (1976)
A Masterpiece.
The kinda movie you finish having the desire to write a whole book when going to review it, but when you start to type, you realize no words can describe that perfect movie. This movie is amazingly done, and showed me why Scorsese is the so known director today. A Brilliant movie!
O Auto da Compadecida (2000)
Beautiful!
I really can´t describe just how much i love this movie! I always like to give attention to brazilian cinema and seeing a movie like this, that actually stands out among every movie i have seen, makes me so happy! This movie's comedy was on point, it's story telling is amazing and its for sure one of the best adaptations of Ariano Suassuna's master piece. And theres also the perfect performances of Nachtergaele that fascinates anyone who watchs it! A Cultural movie that i recommend a lot!
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
Wow.
This movie was so well made, so well thought, so well written, i can't even find words to describe what i just watched. The feelings this movie, with its amazing tension, made me feel were so intense i can't barely think enough to understand what were the best things of it, what made it make me feel like that. A true masterpiece, and a perfect model for both the horror and suspense genre. Amazing.
Whiplash (2014)
Wonderful.
I don't think words can describe how much i loved this movie. It made me feel all of the protagonist's anxiety, anger, dedication, feelings! This movie showed us what a dream (and a obsession) is, and all of this in the best way i have ever seen. It made me cry when Andrew was crying, want to jump over Fletcher when Andrew did, gave me all the adrenaline Andrew had in his decisive moments, it made me truly feel Andrew.
Another great thing i feel the need to say is the so smart editing, that put the amazing performances together with this amazing writing and cinematography and created a truly wonderful movie.
Thats mostly why i can call this movie an actual masterpiece!
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Fascinating!
Wes Anderson, together with his amazing creativity, create a new, unique and beautiful style of cinematography and story telling that makes this movie an actual really great and entertaining thing to watch. I also can't finish this review without mentioning the incredible performances of Ralph Fiennes! I Highly recommend this movie to anyone who is interested on a interesting story!
Zodiac (2007)
Another good work from Fincher.
I do not know about the zodiac case very well so i may not be able to review this movie as a adaptation of a real episode, but i can, with no doubt, say this movie was incredible. David Fincher and his works never fail to amaze me, Jake Gyllenhall also did great performances and from the beggining to the end, the movie could keep me watching it. Really good!
Inglourious Basterds (2009)
What cinema should look like!
Strangely, that was the first time i watched a movie from the so known Quentin Tarantino and i can do nothing but agree with all the great things i heard about this amazing director! He creates a new concept of what cinema is, the best concept i could imagine. Everything on this masterpiece is perfectly done, only showing how perfect Tarantino's mind can be, the dialogues, the visual communication, the story-telling, the cinematography, everything: perfect things that make me go speechless. A true 10 out of 10 movie!
The Lovely Bones (2009)
Boring.
After the first 15 - 20 min the film gets so boring, and to make it worse there just SO MUCH dumb and non sense scenes, i didn't like how they portrayed the behaviour of a serial killer that much and i guess i could call the performances decent. Some little creativity with the camera angles is used sometimes but then they ruin it by making it repetitive... I know this was probably supposed to be a more childish movie but still, it was not it.
With that plot, i just know this movie could have been better.
Fight Club (1999)
Perfect Story Telling
I have always heard about this movie, and, as a recent big fan of David Fincher, i knew i had to wacth this. This movie was just perfect in almost every way, the performances from the main characters were insanely good, the writing and cinematography: amazing, and the best thing in my opinion, the Story Telling. Highly recommend this movie!
The Guilty (2021)
Amazing acting from Gyllenhaal
As always, Jake Gyllenhaal did an amazing job with this movie and the Plot Twists were able to keep me watching it. For sure not one of the best movies i have seen but i can easily call this good!
