$144 million dollars buys you an empty toilet
25 September 2016
I cannot believe how awful this was. Not a single laugh in the whole movie, not even a smile. They rebooted one of the greatest comedies in history and missed out on actually putting a story in it. The only ones who win here were the ones who got paid to do it, everybody who paid to see it lost and lost big. Nothing happened in the entire movie, just one stupid CG buffet after another. This is just typical of today's Hollywood, where there are absolutely no original ideas left, just one rewrite after another, which, by the evidence here, took about an hour to write, and two hours to film, then thousands upon thousands of hours of computer time to actually make the movie. When will they realize that they are actually burning the entire movie model these days, and before you know it, all the actors will be out of work, because instead of making movies 99% CG, they may as well just make them 100%, and just add voices.

Slow start, a little odd, but some mystique goes a long way
3 July 2016
I had a hard time getting into this show, it started a little slow, and seemed a little low-budget for my taste. I like that it's not all laid out for us though, it makes you wonder, makes you think.

I am pretty sure we still don't really know much about what Diamond's powers were, other than he could at one point, fly. Season 1 got better and better as it went, and the tiny little Russian (30 year old) beauty kept me pretty interested, and continues to. I dare say I'd climb a mile over broken glass to get near her. Season 2, as with many series' these days, got the introduction of Boobs, which is always a plus for me, because sex is for most of us, a primary motivator. The near constant expletives make the show more real as well. We all f**king swear, usually far too much, but that's life.

As with most shows, the fewer mainstream stars, the better. I find it hard to believe in shows that use actors that I saw an hour ago on CSI or the like. I wish more shows would diversify and use new blood more, it's tiring to see the same old faces all the time. That said, it was great to see Michelle Forbes again, even without her mole.

Deadpool (2016)

Two of the hottest actors of this era both with their own comic flair. LOVED THIS
3 July 2016
I'm so glad that Ryan and DC parted ways, though I liked GL, I loved Mr. Pool. I've been enamored of Morena Baccarin since I first saw her appear in Firefly, perhaps my favorite series ever, and perhaps the most beautiful, sweet and funny actress I've ever seen.

Before the movie even started, I knew it would be a favorite, if not the. Asshats aside, the opening was brilliant, previewing the fun to come in one of the most creative ways I've ever seen.

The interactions of the two stars were magical, and truly believable, and this ride took me through my full range of emotions, as most movies only dream they could do.

I knew NOTHING of Deadpool before seeing this, as I was a DC comic fan as a child, which may have been why I loved this movie so much... something new for a change. Marvel has blown DC completely out of the water since they started their new universe with the newest HULK in 2008 (X-Men was barely passable), well, until S v B, which I loved almost as much as this. Keep it up Marvel, and get to work on this sequel!

Best thing DC has put out yet
3 July 2016
For the past several years, I have believed that Marvel has put DC to shame, but that has finally come to an end. I absolutely loved this movie, it made me laugh, cry and cheer. Wonder Woman has never been properly cast, first blondes, then finally a raven beauty, but blue eyes?? Wonder Woman, if you don't know, was Greek. Gal is from the same general area at least, and is as beautiful as any woman could be, and as tall as an Amazon. She was a wonderful choice, as was her theme music. Henry Cavill was the first proper Superman, even though Brandon Routh was very close... but I could never get past the fact that he always looked stoned. Hearing Ben Affleck was cast as the Bat was so very disappointing, but he pulled it off, better than ANY of them ever did. His voice was great (both of them) and he worked his butt off to look that good. More than that, I was a little pleased to see that both of the male leads are definitely balding (sure, I'm a little jealous, but I have a full head of hair at 51, with no signs of loss coming, so I got that going for me, which is nice). Casting Jason Mamoa was really a no-brainer, he was born to play Arthur Curry. Good job DC, you are finally pulling in actors that can play the part of these supers and super-humans (and yes, the Bat too, who is merely very strong, super smart and super resourceful) and look the part.

As for the 3 hours, I'm glad it was a single movie, I'm getting really sick of movies that don't end until two, three, or four movies later. Don't get me started on Justice League, I'd rather see it in one single 4 hour movie, and will no doubt wait til 2019 to watch them both.

I'm not really sure why the Green Lantern has been ostracized from DC's new lineup, but am far gladder that Ryan Reynolds left DC to go to Marvel and do Deadpool, which may be my favorite movie of this genre, ever. Off to review that, enjoy!
