The extra features for TNG original BD release include an interview with Leonard Nimoy during which he says 'This is a movie for Star Trek fans'. Circa 1998. This movie showed humanity, it's not how you look or the colour of your skin, its f-n how you behave.
Anyone who gets this movie should start today with a personal mantra of: 1) I respect myself and my personal ideals.
2) I will face the consequences of my ideals 3) My ideals are flawed and ultimate solutions require compromise with the ideals of others.
The message was, "left and right both have their place". Thirty years ago. This movie not only addressed a reasonably proposed cultural balance, but was hugely entertaining in the effort. I can't praise it more.
I love this movie.
