An Incredibly Immersive Oner
4 August 2022
This episode is absolutely incredible from beginning to end. Serious props to the cast, the writer(s), the director, the camera operator, and everyone else behind it who helped to make it truly special. Incredibly tense despite there being a good deal of comedy mixed in.

My Favorite Episode Up to This Point!
26 March 2022
There are a lot of great twists and turns in this episode and I'm not just talking about the hallways. Great suspense and intrigue. Beautifully directed with wonderful performances. You can really feel it ramping up for a conclusion to this first season that will likely stick the landing given how much thought has been put into the story thus far

It is truly a breath of fresh air. There needs to be a second season!

The Gang is Back

I throughly enjoyed all the storylines in this episode with there also being a lot of funny moments. It seems the Sunny crew has hit their stride once again. Can't wait for the last two episodes seeing as they will still be taking place in Ireland.

Nice to see Megan Ganz was able to direct this episode as well as the last.

Feels Like Classic Sunny

It was significantly better than the second and third episodes. The change of setting is also very refreshing. Kudos to Megan Ganz for directing this great episode!

Feels Half-Baked
9 December 2021
I love Sunny, but I'd be lying if I said this episode didn't feel off. I appreciated a lot of the callbacks, but an episode like "A Very Sunny Christmas" does a much better job of showing why the characters turned out the way they did.

For the first four episodes, it feels as if they were on a really tight schedule in terms of filming. The truth is, the show simply doesn't feel as natural as it did prior to season 13. Hope the last four episodes feel much more like classic Sunny.

They've Been Killing It With This Season!!
21 September 2021
So far, season 11 has been light years ahead of season 10 in terms of story, suspense, cinematography, and character development.

Congrats to everyone involved! It seems like they're definitely going to stick the landing.

I Can't Believe This Made It To Televison!
5 September 2021
They definitely shot this in one day with no reshoots. From a technical standpoint, there are continuity errors galore along with some absolutely awful ADR. In fact, if you were to rewatch the episode, you would notice that Glenn Howerton is not actually in several of the shots. His stand-in looks nothing like him from the back.

In terms of the episode itself, the writing is absolutely atrocious. The storylines are completely disjointed with the "characters" being nothing more than caricatures.

NBC will never be able to compete with other streaming services if they keep putting out garbage like this. Instead of coming up with original ideas and hiring true visionaries, they will continue to hire hacks and has-beens while continuing to shamelessly promote shows like "The Office."

Glenn Howerton Deserves Better!!
3 September 2021
This was borderline unwatchable. No cohesive narrative, flat characters, and a complete lack of jokes. Frankly, Mike O'Brien should be embarrassed. Glenn Howerton is completely underutilized and his character is lame in every sense of the word. It didn't help that O'Brien completely dropped the show's premise after the first season.

The jokes in this episode are pretty much as follows: 1) "Haha, the teachers and faculty members are weird" 2) "Haha, the students are nerds" 3) "Haha, imagine if Jack and Durbin were gay."

If you're reading this Mike O'Brien, just know that you created one of the most bland and unfunny shows on television. It is the complete opposite of Community. It's also clear that you are not at all interested in continuing this show, so please stop.

If you're reading this Glenn, just know that you are capable of much more. This is totally beneath you.

Disappointing
25 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
After such a great buildup of dramatic tension with Dante I was hoping his arc would at least last a couple of more episodes. Additionally, the golden rule of screenwriting is show, don't tell. While the last several episodes were great, sometimes this show gets so bogged down in dialogue that you begin to tune it out. Based on the preview, I believe the mid-season premiere will be more like the episode we were expecting.

Too caught up in itself...
11 October 2019
I knew this would eventually happen, but this show should not even be considered a sitcom. It just isn't funny, and the sparse jokes that are in there fall flat. There is something wrong when a "sitcom" like this, which should be consistently funny, needs comic relief (Jason). I honestly feel a bit disappointed that the show runners chose to go the more conceptual route instead of the route with more humor.

What a Shame
3 October 2019
They should try writing episodes that are actually funny. Also, I went from loving a lot of the characters in the early seasons to absolutely hating them now when they appear on screen. Manny, Alex, Claire, Cam, Haley and even Phil have become extremely annoying

It Was Actually Funny
10 May 2019
I honestly can't believe they managed to make an episode which is relatively funny. I think the reason it worked is because it was more like a clip show with short funny interactions as opposed to the usual cliché 2 or 3 longer stories which are no longer connected in any way. Back in the day, they could manage to create stories which would come together in a clever way by the end of the episode, but for the past 5 or 6 seasons this has not been the case.

Lacking Humor
12 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I continually wonder why this show is leaning more and more on emotions than humor. It's great to have emotion in sitcoms, but to find a proper balance so that it is not the only focus. I don't know about you, but I myself watch sitcoms to laugh and in this episode, there are very few jokes. I also find it hard to believe that Jake would be the one who wouldn't want kids seeing how he is very childish and seems to get along well with many of the kids he meets. I am honestly just disappointed and am hoping for an episode that is funny from beginning to end.

Funny Episode With Heart as Well
5 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS: This was a consistently funny episode from beginning to end. Durbin (Patton Oswalt) had some very funny lines to share about his ex-wife at the Murder Mystery. The emotion comes in the end, after Jack and Lynette kiss on the field when Jack continues to talk about how he can't wait to get out of Toledo. Lynette is immediately saddened by this as she expresses how she loves Toledo and considers it to be her home and a place she seems to want to stay for a long time. It will be interesting to see how this develops moving forward as they do seem like a great match.

Simply Fantastic
4 November 2018
Let me just say, this movie does an outstanding job of telling the story of one of the most beloved bands led by one of the most beloved lead singers and performers in history. First off, the cinematography in this movie is absolutely gorgeous from beginning to end. Secondly, Rami Malek does an incredible job of illustrating Freddie Mercury's strength of character and charisma while being able to accurately capture the movements, speech, and mannerisms that made Freddie so unique. Overall, it is a terrific film filled with exceptional acting, performances and a nearly complete retelling of the story and passion behind some of the greatest music you will every have the pleasure of listening to. Simply Fantastic.

A Great Improvement from Last Week
3 November 2018
Although this episode is by no means perfect, it did bring back some of the classic Modern Family humor. One thing the episodes in the past couple of seasons have been missing is the classic humor driven by misunderstandings and miscommunications between characters which often leads to very funny and awkward situation humor which became a sort of standard for the show. One thing I do wish they would change is that they make better use of the character pairings as it feels as if in the last few seasons, Mitchell is always paired with Cam, Claire with Phil, and Jay with Gloria. I feel many of these characters can be funnier when they are paired with other family members. For example, I feel that the pairing of Jay with Phil and Gloria with Claire bring out some of the best moments in the show. I, as a longtime fan, would just like to see a little more variety while trying to best utilize these characters. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Modern Family, started as a show focusing more on the parents and adults in the family as they try to do their best in raising their kids. I am sorry, but I do not find any of the kids remotely entertaining as of lately. Hope the show continues to improve.

Just Awful
25 October 2018
I can't even believe I continue to watch this show in its current state. It is unfunny, has zero charm, and is nothing more than a hollow shell of the once great show it was. I was very disappointed. This episode was the worst of all and it really makes me wonder when and why did sitcoms start losing their humor and comedy?

An Example of What Not To Do
24 July 2018
I was debating whether or not to review this episode, and have decided instead to review the show in its entirety. After watching the Pilot, I told myself that, "This show has some promise." While watching a new episode every week, under the first showrunner, I decided that the main thing it had going for it was the chemistry between Scott and Robinson. However, thinking about this, I found myself actually agreeing with the choice to restructure the show as although it had charm and pretty good humor between the two of them, it would be unsustainable as good TV shows also need to have good supporting casts and it was obvious after watching the poor and unfunny B-stories that this was not the case. I had hope that Paul Lieberstein would be able to change this with him having been a part of The Office which was incredible successful. After watching the sort of second pilot I found myself sort of underwhelmed and figured that it just needed a week or two to redefine itself. I was wrong. With the addition of new characters, whose purpose was simply to give the show a feel more like that of The Office, there was far less interaction between the shows two main characters. In this way, the show also lost its charm. They also decided to create storylines just for the sake of creating them such as supposed love triangle between Max, Leroy, and Annie. The episode which was dedicated to this conflict was very out of place in terms of the characters and their development. The show also seemed as if it was sucked dry of all humor turning it into a sort of drama. The final part of this show I am going to discuss, which I found most frustrating, was the order in which they chose to release the episodes. This is what made the show seem so sloppy as while you would watch an episode with one continuing storyline, the next episode, because it was released out of order, would have a completely different focus making it very confusing for the viewer to watch. An example of this was this final episode which I guessing was originally supposed to be episode 3 or 4. It again brought up storylines that hadn't even been mentioned in like half a year. All in all, while Ghosted originally had some potential and charm, it ended just how it hadn't started, a confused and mismanaged show which did not effectively utilize the very talented cast they had access to. Goodbye Ghosted. You were an somewhat charming train wreck.

What They Were Aiming For
16 July 2018
After last week's episode which was very unfunny and strange, I am happy to say that this episode is hilarious and is probably the best episode of this entire series. At first I wasn't sure what to think when FOX decided to switch showrunners as they decided to transform it into more of a workplace sitcom, and all of the episodes, except for this one, after the change had felt as though they had lost their charm. This episode was consistently funny all the way through, and I believe it is what the new show runner was aiming for when taking a big leap by making this transition. It's kind of sad because this show has now been canceled, and looking back on it, I feel the Bureau Underground in this episode specifically is a reflection of the show itself. It was under appreciated, and the talented actors involved were under utilized. Hope everyone involved finds success in the future.

It Lost Its Charm
18 June 2018
It is hard to describe what has happened to this show. It has become obvious from this episode, as well as the two previous, that the goal was for it to be restructured into a workplace sitcom such as The Office. As a result, the show was forced to introduce a bunch of new random characters who offer nothing more than poorly written jokes delivered in a seemingly depressive way. The show also has a much darker feel to it now and has lost the most important characteristic that made it enjoyable to watch in the first place...the chemistry and funny friendship between Max (Adam Scott) and Leroy (Craig Robinson). The showrunner never had to change the original concept for the show, by making it a workplace comedy. All he had to do was improve upon the secondary characters by giving them more interesting B-stories and funny lines that would make this Scott and Robinson driven comedy even funnier. It's a shame because I really like them both as actors and am guessing that the show will be officially cancelled after next weeks episode. The show just never really knew the direction it wanted to move in and it suffered greatly as a result.

The Middle: A Heck of a Ride, Part One (2018)
Season 9, Episode 23

Somewhat Rushed Ending
23 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I am probably the only one who feels this way, but I did not really enjoy this episode. I have watched many good series finales for shows like The Office, Parks and Rec, and Community but I felt this one was rather rushed as it also lacked the good old Heck family humor that fans such as myself have come to enjoy over the course of these 9 seasons. I for one felt the whole "Axl has to move to his new job" storyline to be a little predictable given that the writers knew it was their last season. It seems as if they included this simply for the sake of bringing the show to an end, rather than looking at it as an opportunity to show Axl as well as the rest of the family's growth as characters. I feel saddened in the way that they, the creators, chose to go out on such a sad note. Lastly, I was not fond of the fast forward towards the end as it seemed pretty cheesy and also unnecessary in a way. All in all, I was surprisingly disappointed with how it ended as I truly feel it did not end as The Middle.

Interesting Ending to Progressively More Entertaining Season
16 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Although Season 8 of The Walking Dead started off rather slow, I feel that the second half of the season, starting with the midseason premier, was very strong. For this finale, I feel the writers have gone towards a very different direction from what I expected. One of the things I did not expect was the betrayal of Eugene to the Saviors. I did not realize that something like this would happen until I saw the look of uncertainty in his eye when Negan looked at him for confirmation. However, upon closer examination, I realized just how important Gabriel's escape from the car proved to be. Eugene needed to in a way protect Gabriel for if he allowed one of the other Saviors to shoot him, they would have realized that the guns backfire. Overall, I feel that even though the episode took a more unexpected turn, that it will provide the show as a whole to move in a new more interesting direction.

Non-Stop Funny
26 January 2018
Even though the episode doesn't directly reference anything from the 80s, I would argue that it is one of the most successful, and consistently funny episodes to date. I don't know if it is because the dinner reminds me so much of how my family behaves in a restaurant, or if the writing itself is just hilarious, but I could not stop laughing. I especially appreciate how the writers were willing to go outside of their comfort zone in terms of the episode's format, and am looking forward to watching a new episode every week. Fantastic!
