Only to forget it!!
19 February 2008
This absurd remake makes me wonder if all the Hollywood's writers stayed in permanent strike,Aren't there good plots to develop?bad cast: a "womanized Benell"(Kidman),a miscast ed Craig(he's not a bad player but not even here and neither as Bond is his real spot)and another not so much known actors(Veronica Cartwright passed almost invisible)because the great performance made by Leonard Nimoy,Sutherland,Goldblum, Adams and the same Cartwright in the best version(1978)is on the milky way, this bad flick lacks of emotion and horror, good villain,an adoptable explanation(Do the virus think?)and an original story("28 Days later" in a bad scrambled way?)maybe this is a good time to the Mainstream in thinking to buy new plots out the borders of the USA, i'm sure new ideas never filmed(because so many writers haven't the good budget to make a movie)would be better than this lame movie.

Is there a way to turn around?
24 January 2007
Victor Rosa(John Leguizamo)is a common dealer believing in the American dream and thinking about a new mogul to be him,one day the best friend of his girl introduces him one faking "business man" called Jack Wimmer(Skaarsgard)to convince him in blanking his illegal tender, the NASDAQ looked a good choice to chance his turbulent life, but when he thought in a new "yuppie" life along his beloved Carmen, the smart dealer fades away before the dark intentions of his new "friend",the predator is now the prey when Victor "invests" all his bucks plus US$ 1'500,000 borrowed by his main supporter "La Colombiana"(Isabella Rossellini),and when the new take-off fails he decides to take revenge against Jack and Trish(Denise Richards)slaying both deceivers with his own hands.

Trying to make one last chance to get easy, his old dues are paid in the same way he decided to punish the betrayal both-some,maybe the director and the writers wanted to show a moral lesson:"when you come into a hard pathway, you won't come back for sure",maybe this flick is not "Scarface,"The Godfather" neither "Goodfellas",however it fulfills his right goals featuring Leguizamo in a good performance.

So sexy Milla,one regular movie
15 January 2007
Since George Romero and his praised "The night of the living Dead",we have seen so many movies in the "zombie genre",even in a "spaghettti way"(Italian versions),but this flick must be the most budgeted until now with some "Star Wars" styled stages, the plot is similar to its predecessors:one lethal gas escaping from an advanced laboratory(common places before)and turning its workers in living dead,Alice(nice Milla Jovovich)after to betray her work, decides to lead and set free a few survivors from the disaster in a freaky way:kicking off in the air higher than Bruce Lee,mixing Lara Croft and "Kill Bill" to combat zombies and mutant dogs in the same way as the known video game.

Amusing film, the best:Milla her pretty body and that sexy gown, boots included, but all the line of the history is predictable,if you want "fast-fun" watch it,no more to look for.

Maybe the best ever:Love never dies!
2 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
When we think about Dracula, the images of Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee from "Hammer" come to our memories(greased and backed hair and their fr ac in "pinguin"),but here Coppola wished to get close the more possible to the Irish drunkard Bram Stoker, then Dracula(a genial Gary Oldman) a former soldier of Christ fighting the Otomanian warriors on the 15th Century quits from God,because the turk invaders to hoax the romanian people are making believe Elizabetta(a talented Wynona Ryder)his dear beloved one was deceased, the young bride gets suicide in a moment of messing up,Vlad Tepes stabs a Holy Cross damning God and all the sacred mysteries, drinking the blood of the hurts of the Lord, Dracoul gets immortality, after 5 centuries a young lawyer Jonathan Harker(Keanu Reeves) is caged in the Dracula's Castle placed into Transilvania to can sell to Vlad the "Carfax Abbey" outside London, now Dracula traveling in a ship his deadly containers, the horror starts:a sailor was missing,Lucy (Sadie Frost)the rich girl and the best pal of Mina(Ryder again and reincarnated!)is bitten by the wicked spirit,Jonathan held prisoner along with 3 pretty vampire women(a gorgeous Monica Bellucci heading his bloody abduction)could escape to try to advice English people about the awful monster stalking in the darkness, when the Lucy's fiancé looked in a despair Van Helsing(awesome Sir Anthony Hopkins!)is called to combat the tainted vampire, and running through Europe to end his menaces against the human race.

Some observations:Why so ridiculous hairdo? Dracula looked in the beginning like a fag with 2 white giant balls in his head,an unnecessary long red jacket dragging across the floor, some kind of chronological contradiction between his arriving and his wild attack against Lucy, an interesting tribute to the original "Nosferatu"(the shadows over the wall showing his over nailed hands),a dislikeable scene almost gay with Jonathan shaving and cutting out his neck, the look of Vlad:a wolf,a black vampire,a white bat(when Van Helsing was blessing his "cave" Dracoul seemed to attack Van Helsing and allies, but Mina was his target instead),the long hair and mustaches like the original Vlad Tepes Dracoul never used in the classical movies of our childhood, Vlad could walk even in the daylight(Mina was met of that way),Bellucci dissolved the Jonathan's cross to suck him(but Dracula could not with another),yet with mistakes and "goofs" this movie is better than all the made until now, though if those wrong stuffs hadn't been the result may have been superior, but it's a good flick in all the cases.

The best of the 5 movies!
25 December 2006
I make my comment when i just have seen all the Batman movies including the awful as overrated "Batman Begins",in this sequel Bruce Wayne(Michael Keaton,a good performer but a bad Batman)falls in love with a crazed and fired employed called Selina Kyle(a good Michelle Pfeiffer)but after she lost her job, turned in the "Catwoman"(sand for the kitties saved her life when her former boss threw her trough a window),meanwhile a fatso freaky living in the cloaks of Gotham self-called Pinguin(Danny De Vito)challenges the caped one invading the city with his feathered "friends",in the final struggles Batman defeats Pinguin but his relation with Catwoman is pending between love and hate, the eternal trouble present in the comics of this character, Burton developed it in an efficient way.

The performers were good though to see Pfeiffer as villain made me hesitate, she did it so good, yet rather i preferred Sharon Stone(she didn't accept because "Basic Instincts" was made almost in a same moment)but Michelle is a superior actress and did her best as the tiny DeVito, two scenes were superb:when the Ice Princess is tied up and Catwoman fights Batman amidst of the roof, and when Batman unmasks himself in the end,Keaton doesn't look at all to the comic character, but this moment showed his value, regrettably his look is not to be Batman, nevertheless this flick never bored like the first one did make it for many viewers in spite his fans,Burton got better this time.

Lovely movie,Why is so underrated on IMDb?
25 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
When 3 former Partizan(Italian guerrilla against the Nazis forces in the Second War World)and friends tear apart when the great war was over, their destiny flow in different ways, while Antonio(Nino Manfredi)and Nicola (Steffano Satta)only survive with underpaid work,Gianni Perago(a huge Vittorio Gassman)an average lawyer gets success when he marries Helade, the dummied daughter of a Count and Commendatore(such as a Governator to the American people)called Romulo Catenacci one rich elder, and Gianni handles the business of his father-in-law,allowing him to get a comfortable way of life,Luciana(Stefania Sandrelli)was fired by Gianni after she left Antonio, and her career as actress gets a relative success, when Antonio met her again, she had made a new life with another guy,in the final scene Luciana,Antonio and Nicola discover the new brand life of Gianni, and they came away when it was obvious.Gianni deceive them because he turned a haughty and greedy guy,but without who is ashamed of who,Scola left us with that final doubt.

Great movie indeed, maybe the lapses of time could be not so clear and the ending was not so worked out,but if it had happened this movie would be perfect!,to name extraordinary cameos as Marcelo Mastroianni plus the genial Federico Fellini and in the celluloid Vittorio De Sica and his masterpiece "The Bicycle Thief",another underrated movie in this link,Perhaps Are crappy films as "Batman Begins" or the overvalued "Pulp Fiction"(What a filthy scene of rap ism against that black guy!)superior than that jewel?I would ask for all the American people to watch more foreign movies with quality and without CGI,FX neither PC special effects banging your head.

This movie can show about the value of the friendship, love, thankfulness but in this material world those stuffs matter less than any special effect of the "Green Screen",open your eyes to end up such mistake. "We wanted to change the World, rather the world changed us" an amazing phrase told by Nicola,it's to never forget.

Watch more good movie, less junkie virtual reality!

Kubrick and all his talent in service to the frantic,a misfit called Alex Delarge(giant MacDowell!)leads a band of punks with the common sense in the life to make crimes with no feeling of guilty nor mercy, but this "freaky" is busted by the policemen, and caged at the Ludovico Prison, the methods of re-adaptation were cruel and absurdest, cuffed in a chair,Alex is compelled to watch the greatest horrors in all the human history specially all the nazi genocide, this therapy seemed to scare Alex, but after his best, nothing can be changed from the bottom of his soul,it's sealed his doom. A clear criticism to the actual society,Kubrick uses the classical music in a shining way, showing humor, violence in an atypical history, maybe we wanted an ending with more "punch" to our bodies!but Kubrick could turn his madness in mystery, but in spite its mistakes "ACO" is a movie to not let to see,be strong, that is the main condition.

American Histery?
21 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
A raged "skinhead" Derek Vinyard(an excellent Edward Norton)kills 2 black boys when they robbed his car, before the eyes of his family Derek is busted, but in the collective memory Danny(Furlong)his less brother remains with a feeling of admiration, following the wrong steps of his convicted brother, after 3 years of jail and getting his parole, Derek decides to change the damned course of his wicked way of life, a smart teacher Bob Sweeney(Avery Brooks)is the good light to their raged lives,in the opposite side Cameron(Stacy Keach)leads the punk haters against the NON-WASP,but a redemptive Derek faces this crazed guy to set free his brother, when Derek tells the truth to Danny the dreadful hell where he was for 3 years,Danny decides to quit of those misfits, and composes to Sweeney his point of view about this stupid kind of racism, but when Derek just discovered the "white" reason to adore garbage as Hitler, svasticas and more insanity,a black boy shot the brand newcomer Danny, turning around the world again in the end.

Good movie indeed, but something has missed in some points:Gould as talented as brief,Keach was good, but when i saw the deleted scenes on my DVD,we see deleted scenes that show a more explicit action of his character and his fellas in hate,it could explain Derek's new attitude when he was raped, but i mean that scene was awful,i'm not so naive to ignore what happens at the jails, but when you see all the "white" hypocrisy dealing drugs with those whom they say to despise it was enough to unmask those freaky guys and their sicking "Mein Kampf" pride(Hitler hatred even all the American white men!therefore those crooks might have been slaughtered in first degree in case of that maniac genocide had gotten the victory, ironic though!)specially when that store was ransacked because his owner was a yellow man and his servants were illegal aliens.

"The hate you take is equal to the hate you made" (changing some lyrics of "The Beatles" to this occasion) Isn't it so?

Dracula 2000 (2000)
5/10
Starting good,falling step by step
14 November 2006
Dracula is a character so many times so used, but i prefer Christopher Lee over Lugosi, even the Hammer films could be so questioned, this time Dracula(a good Butler, but a little bit "Highlander"),is set free by a group of thieves aided by a sexy assistant called Solina (Esposito)working in service of Abraham Van Helsing(as wasted as talented Christopher Plummer)and flying with the lethal coffin containing the Dracula's corpse a silly thug breaks loose the hatred demon, who massacres all the robbers,an undesired blood link between Dracula,Van Helsing and Mary Heller(Justine Wedell)joins these beings in New Orleans where Mary lives;Dracula gains new bloodsuckers to his bloody cause,Van Helsing comes with a rookie pupil called Simon (a hesitating Johnny Lee Miller so far from the reckless & steady punk in "Trainspotting")to recover the lethal human vampire escaped from his long slumber, but a foolish twist of the plot kills Van Helsing (Would you accept to vanish Scherlock Holmes allowing Moriarty the triumph?,Head over heels messie Lussier!)in a cheesy situation because Van Helsing was so naive in every second of his unnecessary doom.

In my point of view, here the movie crumbles down in every second to shot,Lee Miller so low and poor,Dracula seizing Mary in a easy way,the absurd explanation of his fatal origin lets Dan Brown as a brave defender of the faith;Judas and Dracula the same one?if you didn't see this hybrid flick will get astounded with this "logical story",the end was so predictable and laughable because Dracula talking Jesus sounds so funny,Dracula hung as Judas again,a drowned vampire including his burning body, nor the stakes, crosses, blessing water could stop him only Mary repeating the Judas'suicide, the ideas are over in the new Hollywood, but everything wasn't good:the pictures were superb and Dracula arriving to the modern New Orleans and watching the technology of our days, brightened on our eyes, but when you pay attention anyone can think:Were "Blade Runner","Strange Days" or "Miami Vice" series? a good shape as video clip but the bottom of the absurd is reached.

The parts 2 & 3 get worse:a mixed "Bruce Lee/Blade" faces Dracula, Billington the worst Dracula of all the times for sure, and a tired Rutger Hauer very fatso, completed the bad tasted trilogy.

The greatest story ever told by the greatest musicians!!
9 October 2006
I write this commentary when we remember John Lennon in his 66 years from his birth, regretting forever his stupid death,What can i say about "The Fab 4"?=NOTHING,i repeat:words are not enough to describe them and maybe it's said everything about John,Paul,George and Ringo, but this time they tell the magical and mystery story of their prolifically career as a band never to forget till the end of the times.

The first steps, the birth of the group, the first troubles and painful beginning, the moment to arise(when Bryan Eipstein discover'em at "The CAVERN")after the Hamburg experience, changing their looks and manners, the first hit, arriving to the USA(TOTAL MADNESS!),the funny movies, breaking the rules of the music with "Peppers",the weird journey to the India and The Yoga,Brian deceasing and weakening the unit among the group, the final conflict Lennon-McCartney(or Ono-Eatsman?)when "Let it be" broke the union(the last concert and for free!!),John married Ono(never wished presence in the essays by the another members!),Paul leading the final time not only the music sounds but the business(Applecorps broke down) got tense relations(Klein vs Eastman),the last album recorded, and for my particular opinion the best:"Abbey Road",on August '69,the final split when Lennon blindly quits,Spector trying to save "Let it be" from the forgotten tapes, and Paul announcing in his first solo LP the end of the group.

In the last part of the collection Paul,George,Ringo and the crew explain how they joined their efforts along the Lennon's lost tapes delivered by Yoko Ono for Paul on 1993 to mix them(a sort of feeling of guilt because she broke up the band?),25 years after the magic was born again, the new songs were awesome, better than all the bad junk made by the "new talents",though the new youth unknowns about the good music to understand the good tunes of the wisdom.

A MAGICAL STORY OF TALENT AND LOVE,BUT THE SELFISH AND GREED SLAYING THE GREATEST BAND OF MUSIC OF ALL THE TIMES!!

Good movie but changing the rules; and messianic lines!
5 October 2006
I was an old comic book reader and knowing all the story of the Man of Steel,i saw an adapted story to an universal people never reading of the comics, but LET'S THE STORY AND ITS CHANGE:an imaginary planet called Kripton so far away from the ours is going to its doom(here we watch a white & frozen planet so different to the comics),the main scientist Jor-el(the mythical Marlon Brando)is warning all the the Elder Counsil about the final doom, but never heard,he sends his only son to save his life(some kind of religious figures and philosophical phrases never told in comics appear here by)and going to our planet in mission to help this less developed planet, being adopted by a two elder couple:Jonathan Kent(the immortal Glenn Ford!)and Martha(Phillys Thaxter)the alien boy raises and grows up unfolding his supernatural powers obtained by the yellow sun and less gravity of the Earth,we saw the sad death of Jonathan and when a strange light from his savior starship hidden in the farm,it's time to find his destiny, the young Clark leaves alone his adoptive mom, going to the North Pole with the green crystal of his planet, when he hurls the strange mineral to the polar cape,a kind of castle rises up before his eyes(Mario Puzo didn't consider Superboy and this Fortress is more a Castle than a Shelter only to be opened with a giant key like the comics show),when Clark handles the crystal controls appears the Jor-el's face in a talking hologram explaining the reason to land in a far world,15 years of training about history, arts, science of the mankind and a total learning about how to use his powers will be the long lapse of isolation respect his new home(better care about new religious meanings:like Christ disappearing 15 years to come back in saving the human race).

But now appears Superman(Christopher Reeve)to work in the Daily Planet in his mild-mannered identity Clark Kent meeting a grumpy boss called Perry White(Cooper),a rookie photographer called Jimmy Olsen(McClure) and a smart journalist called Lois Lane(Margot Kidder)and when he didn't end to know them so deeply,Lois stays hung out from a chopper in the roof of the Daily Planet, time to see the world the new hero and saving the lady in distress, when the new caped crusader is known a genial as greedy fugitive of the justice called Lex LUTHOR(Gene Hackman)decides to kill the new danger to his wicked career of crime and merciless, planning to blow out all the California coast using nuclear missiles to improve illegal buying of deserted lands never to deal about, and discovering the fatal weakness of the alien hero, Luthor uses kryptonite(a kind of mineral like the uranium)to drain the powers of the newcomer hero, and two misled giant rockets and their lethal dose of nukes menaces the nation, but a pretty girl Eva Teschmacher(OH,Valerie Perrine so cute and funny!)and occasional Luthor's lover sets free Superman from the fatal green rock, and when Superman controls one missile, the another one crashes California to rip it apart the San Andres'failure, and even when Superman saves the state he can't save Lois buried by the earthquake, raged and pained decides to break the Jor-el' laws:he turns back the time to avoid the Lois decease flying around the world breaking the speed of the light and after putting Luthor in a state prison.

An elemental plot from his arrive to Metropolis, not so crafted that we wanted to,and a mature Luthor(Clark knows him from Smallville in the comics)and only bald to be jailed in the end, maybe we waited more action and more complicated tunes, but Donner(he directed an odd character in "The Omen two years before)did a good job,and this flick is full of stories like the Brando's payment(US$3'000,000 for only 20 minutes of footage)and claiming against the Salkind's,the movie has been made along the sequel and because its long length, they divided in two,Donner quiting owed to constant troubles with the same producers,Hackman propping Donner and leaving too,Margot Kidder appearing in different shots with another look,Leslie Newman re-writing the screenplay made by Mario Puzo, deleted scenes of the Donner's version changed by Richard Lester in the second part though the same movie indeed for the entire stuff.

And even the next peril was going from the beginning of the movie, being 3 "phantom " criminals on the loose stalking the earthlings....

The best:2 mini skirted girls, but only conventional violence at all.
1 October 2006
If i say to remind all the original version since '76,i'd lie in a huge way,i saw such flick a long time ago in a version made for TV,and perhaps there were censored parts owing to a more bounds to an explicit displaying of violence in an open signal.

The plot puts cops vs. cops, when a natural born cop-slayer called Bishop(an awesome as cold-blooded Fishburne)is jailed in some accidental as brief stopping before to arrive towards his final doom along with another thugs (Leguizamo in his own as usual)in an almost locking out police prescient, the remaining cops on duty that night, eve of a new year, rather thinking to get a funny ball with relax instead, including two pretty females:a pretty doctor called Alex(Maria Bello nice&talented)and a hot secretary called Iris(Drea de Matteo as sexy as talented)an obsessed chick for the sex,in the final transition between a year gone and a new to live,a surprising siege takes over the frozen outside around the precinct,a bad squad of corrupted cops commanded by a greedy officer called Marcus Duvall(the usual superb villain Gabriel Byrne!)an illegal fellow with Bishop, goes to sweep away all the clues capable to cage him in a deserved cell,no matter whoever pays the consequences, being Bishop the target to aim,the resistance into the prescient is helped by the four thieves with Bishop heading the dreadful bunch.

Bullits down and up,falling the resistance step by step,a final escape is made in an underground tunnel, the main good-doer Jake Roenick(a miscast ed Ethan Hawke, good actor but i've seen him in best movies, never to compare with the original Kurt Russell),is trapped by the snipers on service to Duvall, the veteran chief Jasper O'Shea(so good Bryan Dennehy)betrays his badge and never minding about his next final on his long-time assignment and puts the survivors to the will of the wicked Duvall, but Bishop puts out his ace under his sleeve when throws a grenade over the betrayer, the typical getaway with blood and fire present of course, permits to spread the field of violence,Iris stabs a sniper,Duvall is killed by Roenick saving Bishop, this one lets a wounded Roenick exposed to his own device, but Iris gets the good and saviors cops to rescue Roenick, though Bishop fades away.

This film is conventional because another police films show a similar violence and even more effective, there were holes in the plot:a bad beginning so confused, never deeply treated, unwarned cops before the undesirables and possible plains to set them free(Bishop),Didn't they think about the underground way out in a first moment?,Why to trust in such thugs?,Why to kill Alex and better not to tie her up as hostage to deal about?,the snipers were shot so easily when Bishop bursts Jaspers, Where did the rest of the snipers go when everything was over? Why to get loose Bishop in the end?,TOO MANY HOLES never to fix,the french director Richet was not the ideal one,in best hands(James Cameron,John McTiernan,Robert Rodriguez or another recognized director)the final result should be superior. Truly,i only liked those attractive and so cute mini skirted females called Drea de Matteo and Maria Bello, they are the only reason to rate this film to 5,the rest is more of "the same old thing as yesterday" like an old song said a long time ago.

Thanks "The Police" for so wise phrase.

U Turn (1997)

Stone to a Lynch style?
1 October 2006
This movie is good, nothing to blame in,but i wonder if David Lynch had been the director,he shows twisted characters, amazing plots, thrilling reveals around the story, now Stone does values:"Platoon","Born on 4th of July","The Doors","Salvador","JFK","Wall Street" talk for themselves, but such CRAPPY stuff like "Natural BORN killers"(Harrelson and Lewis got worse the film!)never helped his career, nevertheless "U Turn" is a film better to the Lynch's vision.

Why? Let's see:a road movie, finding a loser gambler called Bobby Cooper (Sean Penn always as talented as hot blooded!)escaping from a fatal doom, when his car overheated in a forgotten place of Arizona,a sicking mechanical named Darrell(Thorton)pushes down to the limits of the reason tired of the cheap chat,Bobby sees a pretty Latin girl called Grace(Uf! Jlo was superb in that sexy red gown and acting so good!),she leads him to a living labyrinth when a jealous as elder husband watches a hint of infidelity,Jake McKenna(Nolte)fakes a violent scene of jealous indeed, but after wards offers to Bobby to kill Grace to receive an insurance payment of US$ 50,000,Bobby denies, but his bounty will burst away when 2 robbers got killed by a old lady owner of a local grocery will tear up 13,000 bucks like the hard dreams of peace wished by Bobby, wrecked and with no way out, falls in a bounce between the illegal offer of Jake and a similar offer made by Grace (including her great "attributes") to end Jake,Bobby after a failed trying decides to hang out with Grace, tempted by a pretty mini skirted teen called Jenny (so cute Claire Danes!)the problems were growing because an obsessive boyfriend called Toby(Phoenix)stalks Bobby believing a false flirt with his hootie, stressed by all the little world around him,Bobby tries to escape buying a ticket to Mexico(dramatical scene, watch a little cameo made by a nice Livvy Tyler),but Toby spoils his going, after a Russian henchman of Mr. Arkady is arrested by the sheriff Potter(Boothe),Bobby decides to slay Jake, but Grace did the worst part in it,Bobby putting the final stab over Jake, the new couple escapes in the old car held by Darrell, but Grace shots the sheriff after he reveals Jake was the Grace's dad!therefore an incestuous union taints that relationship;throwing down the corpses(Jake and the sheriff)in an isolated place thinking in a possible food to the vultures,Grace throws Bobby too;when she realizes about his mistake, when she goes down to help Bobby,he kills her with the last breath of his forces, but the great bounty on the car ($200,000 hidden by Jake)will be useless, the hose blows up again and Bobby dies victim of the loss of blood with nobody to aid him around. All the performers were so good specially Penn, there's nothing to blame, but after all a sad end:Bobby swim med so much to die in the same shores!,when i refer about Lynch,we must remind "Wild at Heart","Mullholland Drive","Lost Highway" and the perverted "Blue Velvet",and common elements like road movie, betrayal, psycho games of troubles, scruples far away out of the soul, important cars seizing the performers in never wished situations when a stopping happens, astounding flashbacks in moments so painful, appetite for an unmeasured sex and more stuffs seem more familiar to Lynch;Stone did it well, though he looks to show an American society plenty of violence, prejudice, out of love, full of greed, ambition, and watch this:when Bobby talked with Darrell or the veteran blind man (Voight)we see a critic about an urban depict respect to the small towns in the USA,Stone notes the social struggles but he does it better in a great world,in otherwise Lynch explores the darkest depths of the humans souls in a little world around his characters.

The movie is good, but Lynch in a single opinion, could make it deeper.

Soylent Green (1973)

The Orwell's omen: "Soylent green is made of.... people!!!"
28 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
When i was 9,my father told me about this movie, for those years(1974) Vietnam war was ending and a strong world crisis rises up because the petroleum was increasing its price, some kind of horror invaded the human race, because the lack of food and home,a fascist government controlling the people not to be getting out the streets in certain kind of hours, starving, stacking all showed in the first scenes of this amazing movie seemed our dreadful future to be made the worst ever nightmare of all the times.

From the first visual displaying in an extraordinary succession of photographs,we see the "Quiet Years"(the first American pioneers) after the speed of the sequence will lead us to the world for today: OVERCROWDED CITIES,A DYING NATURAL Environment AND THE NEW POLLUTION added to the Greenhouse Effect will obligate the new rulers to overwhelm the people,a cop called Robert Thorn(A shining HESTON!!) will discover the gruesome truth about the assassination of an executive of the Soylent Enterprises, when the food is a privilege for the rich men,and a synthetic product in a red and yellow colors will be replaced by a brand new green one,his friend and almost his stepfather Sol Roth(great Edward G. Robinson)will help to find the key about the new product and going against the stream,Thorn will find that sea's natural resources has vanished and the human-less company uses PEOPLE TO FEED PEOPLE!!!,a poor and tired Sol was self-immolated in a process of seeing pacific landscapes and listening to the classical music(What a scene Tchaikowski,Mozart,Wagner,Strauss,Beethoven closing this shivering but unlimited movie!!).

Whe i saw the final scene it was to think about nostalgic times, when the world was world not a lot of contamination,if you look for CGI, FX and more artificial hooks to be attracted, please don't watch this movie, better see "Matrix" or "Harry Potter",BUT THE PLOT WILL TRIUMPH OVER THE EXPENSIVE BUT SILLY TRICKS!!!

To wait 30 long years to watch this movie did value a forever!!!

The stupid final of the greatest group of all the times!!
25 August 2006
Yes,indeed,i didn't like so much "A Hard Day's Night" because bl/white images make me asleep,"Help" was cheesy but funny,"Magical.." so confused as weird,"TYS" can't be so beatle, because there were cartoons with dubbed voices by strangers, never by "The Fab 4".

A total display of greed,ambition,super-ego,selfish pride seized this documentary-film,a real recording alive ruined by the ominous presence of Yoko Ono(GUILTY BY SPLITTING THE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE CREATIVE BOTHSOME LENNON-MCCARTNEY!!)and the mockery appearing of Linda Eastman(another apple of discordance),Paul blaming George,John thinking more about that infamous Japanese than our beloved group,Ringo so sad and confused before the chaos, the tiredness of the misleading band(Eipstein was not anymore to order the wrecking ship!),but the final concert in the Abbey Road's roof was superb and specially those pretty mini skirted girls foreseeing a future without The Beatles: "THEY'LL NEVER CAN BE REPLACED!" only the MAGICAL music and the physical union of the four over-talented musicians are enough to forget so much selfish PRIDE in prejudice of all of us:THEIR INCONDITIONAL FANS 'TILL THE DEATH!!!

Many delete material was never released, some former partner of the school noticed me about an extended version of 10 hours, where Lennon sings "Yesterday",i hope so EMI can release such joyful footage.

Maybe with Eipstein alive and a best Director would have been a better film to watch, but even with those troubles....

BEATLES FOREVER!!!!

After all,it's writing an old fan of the only real Golden Age of the Man of Steel(71-86)the Swan-Anderson-Oskner combination!,some moments reminded this pretty epoque(a french word),and the movie really started in a same french way,Lois Lane(Kidder) climbing up the Eiffel Tower in Paris even the tower of steel was taken by terrorists holding hostages menacing to burst the "Light-City"(remember LA is the City of Light)but Clark (Reeve)notices when the boss Perry White(a correct Cooper) informed him about the Lois' obsession :The PULITZER,taking care about the hard situation Clark in an unforgettable sequence in a dessert alley changes his suit to be Superman flying down to Paris, meanwhile the subversives get loose the hostages, but a bad maneuver puts Lois Lane going down under the elevator of the tower, but Superman rescues her and in a careless action sends the elevator with the nuclear bomb into the sidereal space, setting free the 3 worst enemies of his father:General Zod,a fascist military,Ursa a reckless woman killer of men and kids in the vanished Kripton,Non-el a muted hulk with no brain only brutal force;Superman blinded and unwarned of the imminent jeopardy goes to the earth without noticing about his lethal mistake.

A succession of events in Canada will reveal to Lois Lane the real identity of Superman/Clark Kent, but in the moon the 3 doomed villains slay in a merciless way 3 astronauts(2 American and 1 soviet)discovering their powers leading up to the earth with thirst of domination and to overwhelm innocent people, but Lex Luthor escaping from the jail, goes to the Fortress of Solitude obtaining explanation about the gamma waves of his gadget:3 wicked beings will come to the earth, with the same powers of Superman but the same despise of Luthor to the human race,Luthor will run to make contact,Superman romancing with Lois doesn't care about the disaster, and searching his happiness,he exposes to the Chamber of the Red Sun placed in the Fortress to get marry Lois, but the villains arriving to the Earth(Zod challenges Christ walking on the water like the Messiah did it before!)wiped out a small town and even the US Army surrendered to the diabolical threesome.

And the 3 zone-rs destroy the White House after to massacre the National Guard, then the alien General face to face with the president proclaims the so known words:"KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!",the President said:"Oh,God!"but the mean alien replied:"ZOD!"(now challenging God!),in a dark highway Lois and a defenseless Clark go to a bar trying to take a break after a lovely night(¿?) in the Fortress, but one spoiled truck driver tries to hook Lois, and Clark was knocked out tiring to save the honor of his mistreated honey, when the bad "trucker" left, the bleeding face of Clark and his pain will put him in doubt about his troubled decision, the TV on the shelf of the bar will display the Terms of Submission for the General Zod,the President of the USA,after to read the document sends a messing S.O.S:"Superman where are you now?",and Zod exclaims the challenge "Come to me Superman,Kneel before Zod,ZOD!!".

A repented Clark comes back to the Fortress, and at the White House Lex Luthor pacts with Zod to trap the Son of Jor-El,and a nervous Lois waits in "The Planet" a miracle, the zone-rs and Luthor come to the building, and when the 3 aliens were to untie a savage slaughter with the journalists,Superman just arrives on time to save the lives of the poor humans, and inviting to the zone-rs to fight in the heights,Zod says:"Come to me Son of Jor-El,kneel before Zod!",and the brief battle was won by the zone-rs because they discovered the tender but weak heart of the caped one to care the mankind, and watching the great danger of death exposing the people to the unchained aggression from the zone-rs,Superman felt to cannot stop his foes, and he fled to his fortress, and a disappointed people insulted the hero,Zod decides to take Lois like Superman's handicap, and Luthor guiding them to the Fortress will try to get advantage of the affair, after to menace to kill Lois,Zod decides to make Superman to be his slave, only in 'reward' to not annihilate the human race, but Luthor menaced to be killed by the evil aliens, betrays Superman to put him before the red sun's beams in a big deal with Australia like his bounty. But Superman changed in reverse the effects of the Chamber and the zone-rs were defeated, and Luthor jailed again, this time Clark takes revenge of the 'trucker' and paying to the elder owners the damages, after the patriot act in the White House.

I write this on 25th August of 2006,and even all the mistakes and deleted scenes made by Donner;Richard Lester did the best of all the Superman's movies,it could better, maybe with more zone-rs(Jax-Ur,Varox,Kru-el and the real danger:Faora Hul-Ul an expert WOMAN in Klurkor the Kripton's deadliest martial art capable to kill Superman in an easy way, according to the patterns of the comic-books of those times)and maybe not so much humor and fancy romancing as cheesy scenes, but Terence Stamp as the General Zod and Sarah Douglas as Ursa robbed the movie from the same Superman, hard to find so giant performance in another comic-book adaptation, but certain licenses made by the screenwriters and Lester twisted a little bit the fidelity to the hero;nevertheless after to watch the infamous "Superman Returns" the result is:THIS OLD MOVIE IS SUPERIOR WITH A LOWER BUDGET AND INFERIOR TECHNICAL RESOURCES THAN THE ILL-FATED SEQUEL WRECKED BY BRYAN SINGER AND HIS SMARTLESS TEAM!!!

The best of the saga!! The Yoda's philosophy.
24 August 2006
"The Empire Strikes Back" shall be the greatest highlight in all the STAR WARS' collection, from the cold and frozen planet Hoth(What a contradiction to name!)the rebel cause faces the new imperial attack, to see Hamill's face in the first scene:scared and looked too old for only 3 years in difference respect the first one,he crashed his car a few time ago, then the fatal consequences can be noted at all.

But following the tale,a great "Big-feet tanks" along spaceships of the Palpatine's forces will obligate Rebels to take a long outrunning and holding back,Luke goes to look for the old ancient midget called Yoda former leader of the vanished Jedis at the swamped depths of the planet Dagobah,Solo,Chew,Leia and her droids is going, after to escape of the Imperial float,to the sky-scraped city called Cloud city ruled by Lando Carlrissian a former smuggler old friend of Han Solo, but they are betrayed by Lando,a frozen alive in carbonite Solo shows the image of the total defeat of the rebels and being captured Leia and friends,Lukes faces Vader, even he didn't complete all his training to be a new Jedi, but the thrilling fight goes to a an unsuspected final when Vader ripped the Luke's right hand and exclaims an already classical phrase:"I'm your father!"(What a moment of emotion,we stayed stoned in the theater before so terrific confession!!,and Luke preferring falling down in the emptiness void refusing to join for the wicked Empiror Palpatine obsessed to drift Luke, when the death seemed so close a repented Lando driving "The Millennium Falcon" saved the handless Luke, aboard with Chewbacca,Leia and droids, they installed an artificial hand to the beaten Luke, but Boba Fett the merciless mercenary on service to Jabba The Hutt has flown with the Solo's cold body made a block of a living statue.

The final scene when Luke embraces Leia looking to the infinite of the space is full of tenderness, and shows the real feeling in all this great movie of sci-fi;Kasdan & Kerschner delivered the enough heat and emotion to this never to be forgotten movie of galactic adventure full of romance, humor, drama and action never to be equaled by the rest of the series created by the hailed George Lucas.

But the adventure will follow in a far galaxy very far away from all of us....

Sin City (2005)

Rourke and Willis in a same movie,we waited for so long!!
23 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Too much to comment but to start: The man(Josh Harnett)a handsome psycho killer(some kind of Ted Bundy?),his victims:pretty women of course, but in this fantastic movie THE BEGINNING AND THE END GO LIKE A MERRY-GO-ROUND!; a good cop as heart-attacked Hartigan(Willis)rescues the wrong victim:a defend-less child called Nancy from the claws of an insane thug called Junior(Nick Stahl)son of a corrupted senator Mr. Roark(Powers Boothe),Hartigan shots several times the thief, but Bob (Madsen)his betrayer partner shots him at his back, the tramp is completed,Hartigan is unfairly accused of kidnapping and raping the poor child, the jail will be his reality for 8 mourned years, meanwhile Marv a former convict is framed too:a pretty whore called Goldie(Jamie King)was killed when she slept with the ugly guy, police men can't stop Marv, when he goes home we see the prettiest parole officer ever desired Lucille(Gugino, please bust me now!!),regrettably a sicked "nerd-killer" will be the beginning of the end of so gorgeous girl, outrunning from the unfair justice Marv discovers the corruption in the Church,Cardinal Roark(Hauer) is a part of the cancer, after the respective wiping, with the 'nerd-slayer' included,Marv is taken prisoner by pretty sluts in their own ghetto, the Goldie's twin sister Jamie blames Marv about the murder, but he could prove his innocence before all the "easy girls".

But Marv will follow his path until... the electric chair!perhaps the evil Jamie was too much blind to realize, and the city of sluts is menaced by Jackie Boy( a st upend Del Toro so laughable!!!)a shameless cop looking for new bounties!!,then Dwight(so good Clive Owen!!)a good friend of the chicks faces the mean visitors when a waitress called Shellie(Murphy)is stalked by the bad cops, after they are massacred,Miho(Aoki)leading the butcher's concert,Dwight goes to find help to the fiend ladies(no cops,no pimps) when mercenaries stops him after to forbear Jackie's jokes(the corpse of course)and carrying ripped bodies in an old heap, but when he sinks in a pit o maybe to be baptizes 'quick oiled tar' Miho rescues him, noticing him about the pretty slut called Gail(so sexy Rosario Dawson!)was abducted by a gruesome hulk called Manute(Clarke Duncan),the rescue goes so bloody,so funny to watch Jackie's faces taped and exploding before the slashing revenge;returning to our main hero, here i was so amazed:Hartigan was jailed 8 years,Nancy(Cordelia according to the sicked Junior Roark)always sent him letters never forgetting him, after his parole,Bob picks him up from the jail, forgiving the Bob's betrayal and looking for Nancy, her house was ransacked, and the worst idea because they sent him a teen's finger to the jail,Hartingan finds a clue to take him in a sordid night club, and Nancy(already an adult J. Alba) is a cow-girl dancing over the tables,Jackie and Marv in first file!!, when they cross their looks, she jumped through the tables, going away with the veteran former cop,but an awful shadow of the past now called yellow bastard(the same Junior)captures them, and hanging on the death Hartingan rescues Nancy again and killing the 'mutant'.

If i haven't given a 9 of notes,it's only for personal motives:Lucille (Carla Gugino i love you!!!What a slim fit body in a mini-trouser!!)died so early, they never exploding her beautifulness in more scenes to delight our eyes, and Why to make a suicidal Hartigan?,after all we wanted a complete scene Willis-Roarke together(better care they are so similar in their faces!!)and this didn't happened,in Sin City 2,Willis won't be present, and the awaited scene won't be made(both of them had bad partners in another films,f.ex:Don Johnson, only to be with P.M Thomas making the excellent "Miami vice",appeared with Roarke in the ill-fated "Marlboro..",Willis was lost in several times like "6th. Sense" and more miscast ed roles, only to play by some different performer).

But despite of these opinions, this movie was hallucinating, performers in the mood, specially Del Toro,he made me laugh so much,i confess about the comic,i haven't seen it so much as i wanna read it,but comparing with the movie is almost the same hot stuff:bl/white photos,a few hints of colored details,a plot in total harmony with the cameras(Marv dragging around that thug with his car! What a shot!) and blanked shadows!;Noir to the top!!,i reminded Cagney,Dick Tracy, french classics,Untouchables(TV series),some of Bogart and more masterpieces of the 7th. Art,Rodriguez left the awful"Mariachi" behind, and Tarantino the guest director,i mean he's overrated, but this time did it better than his grotesque "Pulp Fiction"(those crappy scenes never to remember about the rapists and Willis were naughty, loathly, that wasted the film!!!)but here was used its original narrative for good,Frank Miller did a great comic- book better than his offensive and bad-penciled "Dark Knight",but "Sin City" has entered through the big door, and we want for more.....

Good adaptation of a comic-book,better learn Bryan Singer!!!

Against the blue book!!
19 August 2006
The best of Spielberg alongside "The Schindler's list",from the already classical poster showing a rising highway leading to the strangest mountain of all the times until the epilogue, this movie is out of this world. An average guy Roy Neary(Richard Dreyfuss)starts to find out the unveiled truth about weird lights, cars shaking up,incredible tales about UFOs and even from never-believer people, his curiosity will come up to the new reality always denied by the government(please remember Rosewell,Bermudas' Triangle, missing jets and abductions never explained),it's amazing the photograph set by all the Steven's crew: the boy in the door, the car bouncing, colored houses by the star ships, sudden flashbacks and "blue effects" so credible for those times.

After the discover of the real thing into the mountain, the new believers will watch the hidden enforcement of the NASA to investigate and make contact with the aliens, the first and second kind were over: the visions up in the sky and the physical evidence left behind, they saw an UFO's landing with the tunes of electronic keyboards in a kind of unusual communications with the extraterrestrials, one big-headed midget extended his awful hand in a sign of salute for everyone, his look was so similar to the Roswell's "guy",the lights glittering and shining, but the scariest scene happens:people of all the centuries went down from the outer aircraft,Perhaps Were these the strange lights, chariots of fire and unknown gods told to the mankind year by year for so long time ago?

A magnifier movie,Dreyfuss won't do it better anymore,Melinda Dillon and Teri Garr didn't disappoint anybody, and a long as exceptional cameo of luxury:the celebrated and talented french director Francois Truffaut as the main researcher adjoined to the US Air Force;playing only in his own way:a real master and guide(but never to forget the great soundtrack scored by the wizard of the films Mr.John Williams!),but this time to contact with the alien visitors, after to say goodbye they took off again through the blue sky to follow their endless mission.

When i got out from the theater with my father(and even he didn't believe in UFOs,but this time he thought in a positive doubt!!),PEOPLE WAS CONFUSED BUT SURPRISED and for then i was a child making questions but only stared the sky to find answers.

After all,we are not alone in the universe............

Trainspotting (1996)
8/10
Born slippy fuxxs!!!
18 August 2006
This extraordinary movie called "Trainspotting" is not an apology to the sex and drug like the one track minded donkeys argue,it's the story of a foursome of misfits and unadapted freaky, going against the rotten and boring system,a hallucinating journey against the establishment, the first running through the grey streets of Edimburg presents a thief but reflexive Renton(the phenomenal Ewan MC Gregor)and his famous phrase "choose..." and the beat of "Lust for life" by Iggy Pop,from the beginning we felt the vertigo of this flick, the rest of the meanies Sickboy(Johnny Lee Miller)a total drugged fan of 007,Spud(Bremmner)the nerd of the pack,Begbie(a sinister as amoral Robert Carlyle,he reminds me a little bit of Gary Oldman) seemed the "smartest wise-guy" of the bunch,he seemed the more, more, a crazy racing of easy and hard dopes, crimes, nights of disco and the next step the sex(THE WISE GUY was not, found a herring drag!!!)will show us Diane apart, the world of decadence product of a society full of hypocrisy and false values. The final and worst "travel" by Renton result of the coke is the point of the break,a splendid "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed serves like a bizarre guide to our antihero:"You're going to reap just what you sow" road to the hospital, the ultimate sting showed us the time to change, after to commit a steal the quartet sleeps in a cheap hostel,Begbie so secure in himself takes care the bounty, but Renton gets the money despite the Begbie's "safeness",in the road to the "choose your life" he thinks about his already former pals:Begbie a wicked guy forever,Sickboy a doped bulk forever, but Spud was rewarded because he was only a little bit misled but capable to put straight the new path.

Beating us Underworld with the rushing "Born Slippy Nuxx"(a great hit from an excellent soundtrack)Renton decides to get a normal life: wife, children, TV,car, his own house,an average job and the more stuffs of the consumer society for today;great story so many mistaken guys can wish the Renton's real craving:The redemption to oneself. A total movie of cult without unnecessary crimes and charmless slayers as bad actors(Lewis&Harrelson)like "NBK" and shameless of their loathly acts,so close to "A clockwork Orange"(note in the disco the fair tribute to the "ACO")but Boyle is not Kubrick and there is the difference, nevertheless the movie is superb and the end delivered us a positive message of being a new person, even when we may be in disagree with cruel the society in which we live in. To want to be "someone else, someone new" like Reed wrote his tune.

Bertolucci's better or butter ways?
17 August 2006
It's an astounding movie, you can find romance, betrayal, anger, perversion, spoiled talking, passion, hate, changing darkness in the depth of a "Light-city"(french citizens called Paris this way,L.A is the "City of Light" almost like Morrison sang),a strange as deli rant American called only Paul (Mr.Brando)going to France meets an almost innocent teenager called Jeanne(Schneider)in a casual situation, despite the difference of ages he was 45 and she was only 20,the passion will born and grow between them, the Jeanne's engagement tumbles down because the distance with her usual bride is disturbed by the perverted and obsessive grown man.

She fell into the sicking games of the veteran business man: sex, abominations(the butter into the *ss),ambiguous chatting, nights of walking through the cold streets of Paris, unnecessary violence against her,the lowest passions of a man in a total messing.

I believe that the tiredness shoved Jeanne to the final tragedy, Perhaps with such mean guy wouldn't come an ending of joy, after all this is the message to us from Bertolucci:a twisted, skewed lesson of morality about the old phrase said by our parents:DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS;Brando as similar as he was in"A Street car called desire", i prefer his performance in "The Godfather",nevertheless he was so good here and Maria Schneider was not out of tune, she did it well(she looked so sexy with those boots and the short skirt),in an apart Gato Barbieri will live forever with his thrilling music score and making a match with the final Tango danced by the lovers in that classical and old-fashioned ballroom club, something to never forget.

Absence of security!!
15 August 2006
This good movie may be a real case of the true life, nothing to say about Paul Newman and Sally Field, everything has said before, only they fulfilled like is usual, the son of a perished mobster is accused of the death of a syndicate leader called Joey Diaz in his warehouse, Mike Gallagher(Newman)is a legal liquor dealer, not a bootlegger like his deceased father,a honest journalist Megan Carter(Sally Field)has taken the case in the newspaper "Standard",but she writes an article with wrong information,Gallagher faces her, this crash will become in a brief romance, struggling in their our positions. Meanwhile a special governmental force investigates Gallagher,an ambiguous Attorney called James Quinn puts the note of intrigue, his behavior is not so clear,an illegal payment from Gallagher for an institution linked to Quinn opens a committees' meeting,Gallagher showing smartness gets to be found not guilty in this crime. It's a good movie because shows the flattering power of the mass media, the worst criminal could be a the greatest gentleman,a honest and working man would become in a great villain,it's so hard to handle the Honor of the people, nevertheless i mean this movie could better because in the end There are so many questions to solve: Who was the killer? Mike or his uncle Malderone? another longshoreman? Why Terry committed suicide? Was Mike a mobster? Was Quinn a corrupt attorney? What was the reason of this crime?,i could give a better note to this film, but this absence of answers makes me doubt, though it's a good film, the plot really values only the great Sidney Pollack can own the real security about the truth.

MY favorite musical movie!!!
8 August 2006
Saturday Night Fever marked the beginning of a new generation,a young dreamer called Tony Manero (John Travolta)is the king of the NYC discos at the 70s,works for some coins in a store by day,but when is the night, especially the weekends,he turns in the greatest dancer of the "big apple",along with his nasty friends, lives in a world of lust and pleasure. Being an Italian descendant, into a mid-class family, his room shows the posters of 2 icons for then:Bruce Lee,deceased 4 years ago and "Rocky" or better to say Sylvester Stallone already all an idol, his parents so funny and bizarre,a brother the pride of the family owing to his devotion to the faith:a priest, but he will be carried by Tony into the disco world,How can we forget that music full of energy?Regretly many youngsters despises that great rhythm, intolerance and absurd slim less noises crowd those heads,it's so funny to watch a young Fran Drescher(the gorgeous "Nanny")STANDING WITH HER PRETTY AND SEXY GREEN CHANNEL DRESS awaiting for Tony Manero taking over the lighten ballroom with "YOU SHOULD BE DANCING" by the Bee Gees,THE PLOT IS NOT EXTRAORDINARY,but for those years children, young boys, adults and even elder people enjoyed this flick. But the final was sad after one of his frolic friends dies, everything crumbled down, and even Tony felt the emptiness of his rushed life, his occasional partner Stephenie went away from him, because he tried to make non-desired love and she refuses all the Tony's behavior. It's unforgettable the moment when they waved goodbye,"How deep is your love" by "The Bee Gees" penetrated all the inner being of us, it was not a happy end,you can dislike so many things about this movie, regrettably the Disco is underrated, many teens prefer to burst their minds with ugly screams,rhythm-less noises claiming hate, anger and violence for free, please learn to respect, understand what you cant analyze, this film and its soundtrack will be eternal!!!

When the love overcomes the misfortune!
7 August 2006
Pedro Almodovar, the exceptional Spanish filmmaker delivered us one of the best productions of his own, often Pedro makes films loaded with too much sexual harassment, labyrinths of emotional luxury and forbidden desires, angry lascivious, but this time he led an intense drama no exeunt of the usual elements and features used in almost all his movies, although this time the dose is lower than before. In this opportunity, the plot seemed more like a Latin American soap-opera,but this didn't rest the merits in the end,a sole journalist called Marco(great Grandinetti!)falls in love with a sexy bullfighter called Lidia(Rosario Flores)crashed by a fiend bull, falling down into a coma, one male nurse called Benigno(Javier Camera)was infatuated by pretty dancer called Alicia,in a similar state of coma as Lidia sharing the same room at the hospital, this platonic relation happened since Alicia danced in the same street where Benigno lives,a common interest between Benigno and Marco creates a strange friendship, the fatal fate ended this love in silence Benigno jailed and the broken dreams will force the final encore. Grandinetti was the best performer here, the another players did it well, but it's so good to see Geraldine Chaplin,a real glory of the past, showing her talent although doesn't appear so much.

Almodovar sometimes is hunting high and low, luckily this time did the real stuff for all.

Free as a bird!!
7 August 2006
The genius Hitchcock scared me indeed,i saw this thrilling movie when i was 10,my family and me stared a real horror:birds taking revenge against human race, several years of hunting, torture seemed to take a real shape, the FX considering those early years of the blue screen were amazing, some is not agree about that stuff, but there hadn't the high budget and the new digital effects of the present,a flock of outraged pigeons, gulls, ravens and more feather some beings were flying over our heads!!Yes,i felt in that dreadful situation along with Tippi Heddren,Suzanne Pleshette,Rod Taylor or the grinny Veronica Cartwright (she made us shiver in "Alien" spreading the fear 16 years after), although some kind of doubt left with the end:Did the birds take it easy again? or Was the end of the humans? I got to say something:UNTIL THE 60'S THE HAPPY ENDS WERE A DUTY,but Hitchcock puts a half formula between the happy or the unhappy, since i remember the 70's broke that repeated solution and the bad guys could triumph or waiting to live again to slaughter the "goodies".

If you don't like Hitchcock, don't watch any movie, you'll lose your time it's for sure that you don't understand the good films at all.
