Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
The most entertaining superhero movie in years!
First, I don't like MCU/DC or any superhero movies, I just watch them for free to waste time. But this movie is one of the boldest movies ever without mercy or holding back. Brutal ending and I loved it!
The story - I dont wanna waste brain cells to understand why people asking for a story when you have 100 super hero movies leading up to this movie which is ALL OUT WAR. They fight all the time, its WAR not DRAMA. Understand the genres!
Characters - No need for introduction. Each character has its own movie. Go watch them.
CGI - mind blowing.
Humor - for the very first time there is a good humor and in right place in superhero movie. I had few good laughs.
For last - finally they are going to chill on this genre (hopefully) and we can get other blockbusters in genres crushing the cinemas, cause I'm sick of this genre.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Not too bad, not too great
It must be me, but it bothers me seeing all these people flipping about this movie, like it's the greatest thing they've ever seen in their life's when they are going to forget it after 2-3 weeks, but they must love it in order to be "cool". I don't blame them, I mean its been years and years since the last big great blockbuster has been shown in cinemas and they forgot what a good movie should be.
Action: 9/10 Drama: 0/10 Story: 2/10 Character: haha Dialog: if it wasn't for the "hilarious jokes" there wouldn't be dialog at all, so 1/10.
It was fun and fast only because of the action and nothing else. It's strange how you can make tons of money just by filming action and only action these days. I don't know, I prefer movies with a story, plots, twists, subplots, character depth, meaningful dialog, good music. To connect with something, not just with my pop-corn and soda. I can do that anytime I want for the love of god.
To me this movie was bland, shallow, just entertaining to kill 2 and half hours and thats about it. The actors are great, I give you that but they don't make the movie great.
It's like Marvel is on a loose feeling safe and secure with their huge fan-base and not putting enough effort into the films anymore. Hell, even BvS was better than this one.
Anyway 5/10 due to the action and the actors, other than that would've been complete failure.
Misconduct (2016)
Pretty good ride and was worth every minute!
First I wanna say that after reading most of the reviews about this movie, I couldn't help but laugh on almost all of them. Do not read them because none of them understood the movie and they all talk about the actors and their "bad" acting.
What you must know is that this movie requires your FULL attention! So leave your pop-corns, phone and everything else that can distract you, if you want to fully enjoy and understand this incredibly crafted movie.
This is drama/thriller where the rules of the casual movies doesn't apply here. The time-line is all messed up, so you have to keep up with it and connect the dots. Otherwise you will miss important clues and parts to complete the story in the end. You won't get the point served on plate. You gotta earn it, and that is what I love about this move!
It's nothing complicated if you are focused and think while watching. It's awesome actually, because it keeps you guessing, waiting, wanting more, feeling on edge even tho it's drama.
The script is beautifully done, the actors incredible, the music awesome, the camera great, and etc etc.
"Misconduct" is about an old billionaire who has a young girlfriend, there is an lawyer and the company where he works, the wife of the lawyer, and supporting characters. Beside the great acting, these actors and the director shows you the real deal, the unemotional ruthless people who are wild and ready to do anything for their goal and not care about anything but themselves.
Till the half of the movie, you will go forth and back in the story. At first it's confusing but then its easy to follow it up. You will find yourself in a chaos of questions but as the time passes the truth will reveal slowly and you will be satisfied at the end, if you are focused of course.
To keep it short, I rated this "Misconduct" with 8/10 because of the end that didn't surprised me. I wanted to be shocked and got even more question and think like crazy about the movie, but sadly it didn't happened because I predicted it long before the end. I love this genre of movies and they have pattern, so I know how they are being developed, their story.
Anyway, I'd recommend this movie to anyone with the nerves to stay tight and focused on the movie and use their brain instead of eating pop-corns and drinking soda! :)
Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands (2016)
It could surprise us but we'll see...
I just saw the first episode and I'd like to see the next one. It's not a bad show but its neither great.
First let me point out few bad things I've noticed in the episode.
1. Lots of similarities/resemblance with Game of Thrones -We can notice that even by watching the intro for Beowulf TV show, also the Wall, there is "bad" Queen and spoiled brat Prince who is Queen's son. Also we got here an adviser who "knows" almost everything and always remains in the shadow like Lord Varys, and etc etc.
2. Bad CGI and there is lots of CGI we can all agree on that. -I understand that the environment of the story requires CGI but hopefully they'll get better, they must get better if they wanna make great show.
3. Long pauses between scenes. -Its like they want to show us the stage they have set for the show over and over, and whenever a new scene is coming, the camera goes all over the scene mostly without people and talking.
Okay, these are the main bad things I've noticed in the first episode. Now the good things.
1. The writing! -Oh boy, I loved it! The dialogue isn't what you hear in almost 90% of the show, its so realistic, honest, logical and so on and on. I wish there was more of this!
2. The story. -I know nothing about Beowulf, except the movie, but I'm interested in learning more by watching this show. This show might just do that if its done the right way! It has it's potential, but they must be careful because in my opinion, I'd hate to see Beowulf as medieval detective who solves murders, catches bad guys and stuff like that which is so casual in todays shows.
3. The actors -This is not fashion show where we get to see every single actor to be like a model, which is perfect! They are all likable to look at and they blend in very well. The actors are rather good and they add huge amount of realism to the show.
Well to keep it short, an overall opinion: -I liked what I saw and I'm interested in seeing more with a bit of a hope that they'll try and keep trying to do better and better job!
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Disney has turned to the dark side and destroyed Star Wars!
This was the most unemotional, fast-phased movie that made no sense. The company who used to create original movies which lasted for many years, they are now remaking them in order to drain money and destroy the creation of other people.
The main character Rey is a almighty mechanic girl who almost destroyed the new order all by herself. Well, she didn't because there were more characters included in the movie, so they had to do something, otherwise they wouldn't exist. But yes, she is stronger than all the Jedi's combined together.
The supporting character Fin, the ex-stormtrooper who turned good because his friend was killed, he then turns against the dark side and kills many of his colleagues. Yep, irony! This character is utterly stupid and wanna be funny. He absolutely does nothing in the move and same as BB, he just wants to follow Rey.
Han Solo steals the show once he pops up like its someone's birthday. Surprise! Same old same old, nothing to add here.
Princess Leia, is the worst actor in the whole Star Wars universe. Literary the worst, and has been placed as general. Couldn't they make her retired and out of the story?
Luke? No good old Luke, because we got someone who is way better than him. Rey, who only heard about Luke and the force, she has mastered flying, fighting, escaping, controlling skills in no time! Its like they are trying to sell a product on top-shop!
Now Kylo Ren. The spoiled teenager who calls Darth Vader his grandfather, while Han Solo is his father, but Darth Vader was Luke's father. Well f*ck logic! Anyway, he is bad-ass when he uses the force, but cmon, he could've killed Rey like 3 times and he didn't, he never tried to turn her to the dark side, expect before he loses the duel, he isn't bad to his co-workers, he never makes any progress in his mission, he has nothing to do with the death star, and so on and on. Like he is in the movies just because he must be! No further question please! Well, thank you J.J Abrams.
The storyline is a disaster, A New Hope, but you already know that. Character development is like life in other planets, it doesn't exist! They simply pop up out of nowhere without any explanation and they just go with the flow.
I honestly could write a novel tittled "Everything wrong with the SW:TFA" but couldn't write a single page about the good things about this so-called prequel.
For me, Star Wars doesn't have future, this is the end of the product who was threated as religion.
Now is the time for Disney to ruin The Jungle Book and more remakes to come! Stay tuned.
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015)
Money drainer - they didn't even tried
First, Maze Runner should be removed from the title. It has no connection to the first movie whatsoever, except that they run fast from the "evil".
Actually the movie is into a maze and they have no clue where they are going with it.
I was so excited for this sequel because the Maze Runner left really wide area and many ideas how to continue this story. I guess thats the downfall of making movies from books. You can do nothing on your own, its already written.
It starts with freaking zombies! Like, what the hell is that? We are surrounded with zombies on TV and theaters. That was the biggest failure!
Also you will notice many mistakes in the movie, they are obvious. The reason for that is that they were trying to re-create old fashion scenes to build up tension. I hope they haven't forgot that it's 2015!
The ending.. oh well, thats a completely different story from what you gonna expect. It will totally "blow" your mind and you will see something you haven't seen before! Okay, enough sarcasm. Now seriously, the ending couldn't be worse. They put every single effort to make the worst ending!
There will be another Maze Runner and I cannot wait not to watch it!
Overall 4/10 and I give 4 because of the actors.
Self/less (2015)
Good but not good enough
I was having doubts about this movie but I took a "risk" and saw it. The movie starts very slow, at least for my taste, and it last for a while. Then it speeds up rapidly which was a very good surprise, it caught me off guard. It does keeps your attention and holds you in a loop, searching for answers.
Self/less has somewhat an original idea and interesting one, but they didn't really covered the story behind the immortality. I mean, what annoyed me was the fact that you have IMMORTALITY yet you focus on a single man who is fighting against that. So basically it was like a cliché.
The movie is also predictable, but that might be just me. I liked the action though, it was fast, brutal and exciting.
It didn't ended well for me, but I suppose the Self/less purpose was to pass on a very strong message.
Overall 5/10, its a decent movie to relax and enjoy it but its not something that will make you remember the movie.
