A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022 Video Game)
9/10
A perfect follow up
20 October 2022
The sequel to 2019's A Plague Tale: Innocence. Manages to expand on almost everything the first game offered in terms of scale and quality. The story managed to keep me intrigued until the very end with the many twists and turns it offered and topped it with a very good conclusion. Gameplay has more depth to it now and is refreshed every couple of chapters via introducing the player to new mechanics/tools that add an additional depth of layer into the experience and offers more ways to deal with enemies as this game is mainly about stealth. The graphics and visuals are superb and beautiful despite being locked on 30fps on consoles, which is a major flaw and unfortunate. Voice acting and performance is incredibly well done and you can feel the emotions of characters as they kill an enemy or go through an unsettling experience. I also liked how areas are more open and larger in this game than its predecessor, no side quests on anything but a bit more exploration with the characters commenting and interacting with each-other which i didn't mind. The game's length is roughly double the first title, for me personally at least, as it took me 20 hours to beat the game. Overall, I highly recommend A Plague Tale: Requiem as one of the best highly directed narratives in recent memory.

Trek to Yomi (2022 Video Game)
7/10
Good looks can be very deceiving.
11 May 2022
I enjoyed Trek To Yomi to a certain degree the game started out pretty good had amazing visuals and impressive voice acting but the story seemed like the usual Samurai revenge on bandits type of thing which isn't original and while this could be viewed as a missed opportunity due to some aspects of the story showing some promise i still wouldn't be too harsh on the game on that spectrum. Admittedly i couldn't keep myself from thinking well, what if they had done this or that in the story instead? But thats just personal preference. The gameplay on the other hand was mostly fine for an indie game nothing crazy like Sekiro or Ghost of Tsushima but stable and simple combat mechanics and well rounded map design with multiple secret areas and shortcuts that you can take and sometime be completely unaware of their existence the enemy variety kinda sucks because it doesn't encourage you to play differently at all. Infact i finished most of the game without using the ranged weapons they give you throughout the game which felt like a massive missed opportunity especially when enemy types could have been built based on the combinations of weaponry at your disposal which wasn't the case as the encounters felt very repetitive after a certain time. The puzzles scattered around the map were very simple and felt like fillers that are there to increase play time rather than be fun or creative and the amount of shrines (check-points) is just horrendous i played this game on Kansai mode in which you basically die in one shot and still i managed to beat it without much trouble due to the staggering amount of shrines after almost every encounter. Overall i'd suggest this game to people who enjoy games with a focus on middle age Japan and the way of the Samurai as the game nailed those aspects perfectly but thats pretty much it.

What Remains of Edith Finch (2017 Video Game)
8/10
What happened here?
20 June 2019
As you see in the headline, a question. But one that you'll keep asking yourself everytime an event takes place in this game. What remains of Edith finch is a strongly-narrative game that manages to keep you interested in the story to it's very last bit and you'd still be a little bit confused, the game introduction doesn't really give you an explanation on what's happening but in a really good way, and the way you visit other characters rooms to see their stories from their own perspective is a unique experience and i've never seen a game pulls that out as good as this one does, the visuals and the voice acting were on an incredibly and surprisingly good level and one I certainly didn't expect, my only problem with this game is that it doesn't give you more freedom which i felt was needed sometimes but that's still debatable due to the fact that this is a narrative game. You should definitely try What remains of Edith finch as soon as possible.

A Plague Tale: Innocence (2019 Video Game)
8/10
Uh, where to even begin.
22 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This game is by far one of the most fresh experience i've had in the video game industry for quite sometime, it introduced something very interesting character development wise, just look at the main character reaction to her first kill, it's incredibly done! The story and settings are kinda steampunky kinda victorian age France which i know alot of people likes including myself so the visuals and the story won't fail to get your attention for the most part of this game, not to mention the gameplay mechanics. Is it worth playing right now? Well, Yes and no altho i quite like A plague Tale: Innocence I don't think it's worth a 49,99$. It may not be repetitive or boring but it's a short experience from a game in this price-tag so i'd say wait and pick it up later for let's say something between 20-30$.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (2017 Video Game)
8/10
A struggle between the past & the future.
16 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Senua's journey to find and rescue her lover is sure full of surprises and interesting facts that appears as the story goes on. Her struggle with her father and her curse that's taking her live, and her war with the gods for her lover which is where the game takes most of the place all that puts senua in a desperate missed up shape for most of the game affecting even you the player and making you feel some kind of sympathy for her. The gameplay on the other hand is incredibly fundamental and has some replay value in it, the combat especially was very well implemented considering the animations it made a perfect combination with the rest of the game's settings and the puzzle's were fun and how they work in each level helped in not making them feel repetitive which made me enjoy them till the end of the game. If nothing else If you miss god of war vibes this is a must play for you.
