Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
Editing style was irritating and I left.
14 September 2023
The editing style of this movie is irritating. I was fully switched on and aware of what was occurring and connecting the dots, but it is fast paced editing jumping back between one time period and another, without any time for characters to develop. They are just thrown in. For the first time in my life I walked out of the movie. The actors and locations were there, but the director really went over the top this time. The movie was not for me. There are other movies which accomplice what is required without such a style. I suspect it will quickly be forgotten, as it is a fad. I really cannot find how anyone can describe this movie as good. You have been taken in my social media and group think. A serious time period and subject lost in scissor hands. Alas I did not witness the explosion.

For All Mankind (2019– )
Give it time, a great series
26 May 2021
The first time I tried to watch the first episode I could not get into the series, but give it time, watch a few episodes and you will become hooked. A great series and hope they make more.

Inside No. 9: Wuthering Heist (2021)
Season 6, Episode 1
Dire episode
12 May 2021
Have been a fan of the series for some time, but this episode was dire and a waste of time. Sixth-form students could have done better.

Devs (2020)
Ok until the last part
17 April 2020
This was a pretty good series until the last moments when it fell into a predictable and somewhat simplistic (compared to the rest of the series) plot. Felt disappointed with the ending, it feels like the writers could not think of an ending so made one up quickly which isn't very good.

American Gods (2017–2021)
If there was a god of disappointment........
29 April 2019
I am not sure what has gone wrong with season 2, but it is like someone has taken all the deleted scenes from season 1 and created a new season from them. That is the quality of season 2, the majority of scenes are dull, lifeless, and certainly don't contain any of that god like "magic" that season 1 certainly had.

There are still a few good parts, but the majority of season 2 was a chore to watch and I could not wait for it to be over. It is a real shame because season 1 was like nothing I had ever seen before. Season 2 seems to have the money, locations, actors, some elements of a story, but it just doesn't work.

I do hope we get a season 3, and that the makers of the show manage to capture some of that "magic" which made season 1 so great. Otherwise the god of disappointment is sure to have many more believers........

Very odd film
16 July 2016
I came across this on Netflix UK, and thought why not.

Well I have to say it's one of the worst films I have ever seen. It's more like a play than a film.

Almost everything about the film is bad, but its setting and weirdness do give it something, so worth a watch if you want to experience something different.

The plot is OK, but the characters seem a bit dim, constantly explaining the obvious and doing everything as you would expect.

Again, its a very odd film and worth a watch just for that aspect.

Enjoy!
