The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
A beautiful visual poetry
Director Derek Cianfrance has created an outstanding visual poetry through his storytelling. The layers take you through a generational timeline, where it ends beyond the pine woods and a growling bike fading away in the meadow. An emotional journey of the father, mother, and son is not only just glued you throughout the runtime, but even with its predictable outcome, it leaves a long-lasting impression in your mind. It says about the situation of human life, where your mind realizes the responsibility and tries to take off to any limit to provide for your family.
Some melancholy songs and background music could add up to its grandeur and could take this visual poetry to some another level.
Drive (2011)
Artistry of an Action set piece
Ryan Gosling shines as the heart of the storyline, his eyes delivered most of the unspoken dialogues. This movie is an artist's (director Nicolas Winding Refn) fine craft with a simple storyline. Music is another edge holder for this movie. Another reason to watch this movie is, untill you finish the entire runtime it never lets you know what's lies underneath. Once it's over, it reminds you of watching similar stories before. Beauty of the performers keep you engaged throughout the runtime.
Ryan Gosling's subtle performance provides some surprising moments in the film. Can't deny Bryan Cranston and Carrey Mulligan.
Donnie Darko (2001)
An enthralling thriller
Spectacularly envisioned and executed with some terrific performances. If time travel horror could be a genre then this movie had easily embarked on the path of it.
I watched this movie after 22 years after its being released, still, got the thrills the director envisioned from her audience.
The parapsychological touch has given all the darkness to the storyline which keeps the audience glued throughout the runtime. It keeps you lost in its rhythm. Though some unnecessary jump cuts make the movie a bit sloth but in a broader aspect one could easily ignore those minute points. Overall engaging.
Uncharted (2022)
A simple time waste
I don't want to say much, but I think Tati Gabrielle is the major disappointment of this film... And this happened approximately in every scene. Yeah i must say good things about the special effects which were really good. The storytelling could have been better rather than its cheesey exaggeration.
Belfast (2021)
Purity and the Innocence
I know it's pretty much hard to find purity and innocence these days, but i can surely say that this film has brought us this divinity and purest form of human love that we expect everytime around our family (some are fortunate and some are not).
Belfast is the story of something like that, the little Buddy's story will take you along on a journey where you get to see the finest form of everything. Let it be the father-mother quarrel, emotional and heartfelting grandparents, bad choice of friends, the simplicity of a child, the purity and innocence of a child's heart, everything will just blow you away...
I would like to thank Kenneth Branagh for bringing us a masterpiece through which he took us in distant past and showed us a story that literally has every ability to bring tears to everyone of those viewers who spent their childhood with their grandparents....
Hawkeye: Echoes (2021)
Jeremy Renner, The Show runner.
This episode truely stands out on the fact that Hawkeye is no doubt the best underrated Avenger. And if I'm gonna talk about Jeremy Renner, he is one hell of an actor,
God! He always overwhelms with his performance may it be a drama-mystery series or a superhero performance. He nailed it in everywhere... Lots of love to him.
But yeah, a little bit issue with special effects caught my eyes, in this episode. I don't know why Marvel avoided these nuance of problems which are critically hard to find in their workbook throughout all these years.
Hawkeye: Never Meet Your Heroes (2021)
What a fantastic start
Its the very first episode, and the appearance of Kate Bishop alongside The Hawkeye is marvelous... Kudos to the writers, 1st episode is astounding and the very start to a boomer 💥
Arrival (2016)
What a score has been composed!! Amazing 🎵
One should surely watch this film for it's exceptional background score.. It is surely worthy of winning Oscar, and it has also. And then again you will get a terrific and completely different alien concept from this movie, out of the box, and different than the typical alien ideas. Loved watching it.
Boss Level (2020)
What a dumb!
Its just boring movie with a huge action scenes. Frank Grillo is the one who made the watch worth with his swag and macho mussels. I'm disappointed that Mel Gibson had nothing to do in this movie. Its really bad, a big thank you to Frank Grillo and thats it.
Drishyam 2 (2021)
An incredible ending.. overwhelmed!
There couldn't be any better sequel than this. It deserves every applause on its way... As Georgekuttigets his own kind of punishment for the rest of his life as we getto experience the eternal pledge to protect one's family... An amazing masterpiece from Jeethu Joseph. Thank you so much 🙏💕
Begin Again (2013)
An enthralling masterpiece
From character building to plot management this film grips all of your attention to the end of it. With stellar performances from Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley and with the melodious ending song 'Lost Stars' by Adam Levine, this gripping tale of beginning the journey again will not let you get off for 1hr and 45 mints..
Knives Out (2019)
A true Detective essence
I have scored it 9 out of 10, just because i was waiting for so long to experience genuinely this kind of mistry and thrill from a detective movie. And i am so far satisfied by this one. I was so impressed at first that i nearly compared it with next to Sherlock Holmes kinda film. But yeah, as in i put the title, if you want a true detective essence, the True detective series will surely help you but, this 2 hours long film is no way lesser than that.
Marriage Story (2019)
A true marriage story
It is successful from its storyline, and strong performances. A subtle feeling of getting into ones life and watch them dealing with problems inspite of all hurdles and the little one in their life from whome none of them one to get away.
Performance.
Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson portrayed Charlie and Nicole in such a way that who don't know them from past if they get to watch them in the movie for first time they would clearly remember them by this role.. they were so efficiently smooth throughout their dialogues and with their self portray. Scarlett Johansson is so much realistic and mind-blowing while Adam Driver made the realistic acting look so simple that it felt like being with him in front throughout his screen time.
Supporting actors don't much have to do but surely they did their part strongly to support the leads.
Both the stars played their character successfully in every bit.
Performance
It is so much of a real life storyline that director writor Noah Baumbach brings to us. Throughout the story he successfully maintained the simultaneous rhythm.thae transitions could have been better, though it won't irritated the viewer for a second, instead it will leave them with utmost dissatisfaction of 'what now!' which i think successful in terms of this kinda directing...
Little Monsters (2019)
Little happy monsters...
I dont know what the greater critic would review this movie, but i'm gonna rate it straight 8. Its just because its simply beautiful. First time i saw a horror movie that didn't irritated me a bit instead it made me happy. There are few aspects i would like to recommend...
Acting: At first if i start talking about acting the most important mention would be of Lupita Nyong'o. She is outstanding on her way to make this movie successful and choicable to us. Secondly the children, and their appearance. Specially that little kid named Felix (in the movie) hes reallu cute. And then Alexander England may be I'm watching first time in any movie thats why i cant judge him but he is pretty supportive and playful throughout his role so liked him too in this movie.
Music: the most important thing about this movie is its little musics, which are capable to make people happy in every way. Because all of these little songs are happy songs. These songs has only been written in the script to mould these little kids only just they couldn't fear from those zombies. But still those songs keeps strength to get your attention too. And quite impressive to get your attention from those zombies... In that aspect this movie is quite successful.
I am just skipping other critical parts. Just because if you want to consider this movie as an real and simply entertainment movie then only you could get higher to that understanding...
Thank you
Fantastic Four (2015)
Scientific exaggeration
This was the worst marvel movie i have ever seen... Though this was not from the marvel cinematic universe, so still cudos to them. But but but, if you come to a comparison with the 10 year earlier's plot acting story telling and ofcourse all of their combination on screen, this was just a piece of s**t. I mean seriously!!! Guys?? Why? Why is the motive to make a reboot out of a comic book. And if so is your very intention then come up with something that could actually make sense... This is just a headache and nothing...
