The Shining (1980)
Brilliant !! Such brilliant acting from both Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall.
I's Brilliant film. It was probably the best piece of cinema i have ever seen. The cinematography is amazing with wide pan shots with no cut and dissolves from scene to scene so slow you swear there is something lurking in between in the dissolves. And the hotel lay out with brilliant tricks to fall the mind and just build tension just following someone on a tricycle.
Kubrick creates and sustains a sense of dread and suspense throughout the entire film with the use of innovative camera techniques and incredibly unnerving music.
Highly recommended.
The Exorcist (1973)
Best horror movie of all time.
It's always a challenge to scare audience in the broad sunshine. Fredkin does it! And he does it marvellously! The creepy makeup, the horrifying actions of the daughter, the long moments of silence and the cinematography, are a few features to name when it comes to this Must-watch masterpiece horror film. A classic that will scare the crap out of you every time. It invokes a sense of unease in you as you watch
Raat (1992)
The best horror film of the early 90s
'Raat' reeks atmosphere and is intense at several places. Revathi is brilliant and truly convincing in her efforts. This is one of the best horror movies and the milestone of Indian Cinema.
Overall, this film will make you shiver for sure, the performances are very memorable.
Pari (2018)
'Pari' is a delightful psychotic horror.
It was not a typical horror film for sure. The story line was different and the movie was for sure scary. I wasn't expecting much from this since in my experience of watching many Bollywood Horror flicks left me with disappointment since they fall victim to bad pacing, cheap scares and cliche's copied from Hollywood but this one is not like that. Whilst it does fall victim to some of those, the positives far outweigh the negatives in my opinion.
Stree (2018)
Brilliant film.
'Stree' is easily one of the most compelling and brilliant film. Perfect blend of horror and comedy with lot of social messages. I found myself enjoying this movie and its premise. The characters are fun and I thought the actors did a good job. It has moments that are creepy and dark but also a comedic style that makes it fun and pretty easy to watch, which can be a tough balancing act for horror comedies. I think the movie could have had a stronger social commentary than it did.
Lupt (2018)
Nothing very original, still an excellent film!
Watched Lupt on Netflix. I eventually get to it, or I would have missed on Lupt, which is in my opinion simply an excellent film. The story is not very original but the different atmosphere, the added value from witnessing the heartwarming relationship between the family members simply makes Lupt a rewarding and fun viewing experience from beginning to end.
Acting is right on the spot by Jaaved Jaaferi, Vijay Raaz, Rishab Chadha and Niki Walia. Prabhuraj deserves special mention for making a very impressive directorial debut.
Soundtrack and cinematography accompany the story and characters just as they should, and everything simply fits together perfectly.
The ending is slightly disappointing (as is the case with many Horror films). The special effects is also very average. This combined with the aforementioned lack of innovative story makes me somewhat surprised as to how much I honestly enjoyed this film.
All I can say is that I wholeheartedly recommend Lupt to any thriller fan, even if some of you might find it to be mediocre and average at best. I certainly haven't.
American Gods (2017)
Great Watch !!!
A great series and its not slow like some people say. You actually have to use your brain for this movie. I must say this is mostly for the intellectually savvy.
John Wick (2014)
Stylish Movie
I love how he avenge the puppy's death by mobsters who killed him and than he saved another puppy from the animal shelter when he was wounded.
Keanu was a great choice for this role, he plays a hit-man with ease, but there is always a little spark which he puts into his acting which makes him stand out from the crowd.
For an action movie I really like this one... My rating 8/10
