As a fan of both Regency era romance and zombie mayhem, I am so ready for this insane mashup. The latest Coen brothers film is a musical set in 1950s Hollywood. The ensemble cast includes George Clooney, who plays a movie star whose kidnapping threatens to derail the production of a big-budget film. The trailer features Scarlett Johansson dressed as a mermaid and a sailor suit-clad Channing Tatum dancing up a storm. If that's not enough to whet your appetite, Tilda Swinton plays Hedda Hopper, the same real-life gossip columnist that Helen Mirren plays in Trumbo. Former "Daily Show" correspondent Samantha Bee cracks the glass ceiling of late-night television to launch her own late-night satirical show. The series will feature on-location segments in which Bee brings a comedic perspective to serious topics including the plight of injured female soldiers and the refugee crisis. I loved Bee on "The Daily Show" and am curious to see how she will put her own spin on late-night television. — Sara

Season 6 Returns: Sunday, Feb. 14

Given how rapidly the Big Apple is transforming these days, you'll get a kick out of this period drama from HBO, which is set in 1970s New York, where things were decidedly gritty and rough around the edges. The whole time period and urban environment were incubators for some of music's greatest sounds and artists, and this drama from the creator of "Boardwalk Empire," explores every jagged, stubbly, tattooed nook and cranny of the city's evolving music scene — from punk, to rock, and every disco beat in between. Oh, and the pilot is directed by Martin Scorsese. So, there's that. — Bret

I've been looking forward to getting back into the story of underdog Jimmy McGill's transformation into brassy, formidable Saul Goodman. After watching Bob Odenkirk in "W/Bob and David" and reruns of "Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!", it's clear the man has some serious range, and I can't wait to see what he does with Jimmy/Saul this season. — Chako

Season 2's pegging episode was one of the finest 22 minutes of TV I've ever seen — and I'm not sure I've ever re-watched a show more than "Broad City." Simply put: Abbi, Ilana, and their writing crew are creating the funniest program currently on the air, and I hope they push the boundaries even more in their third season. Will Jeremy be back? What about Oliver, the young man responsible for popularizing the expression "Yaaaaas Queen" — he has to return for another day out with Ilana, right? — Arno

Season 3 Premiere: Wednesday, Feb. 17

It’s been a long 10 months waiting for "Vikings" to return. Last season left off with everyone at a turning point: Floki’s secret came to light, Rollo became French royalty, and Ragnar’s wife may have bedded Odin. "Vikings" seasons have always felt too short, but that will be remedied this year with double the episodes (and a bear fight)! Feb. 18 can’t come soon enough. — Vanessa

Being a fan of slow-burn storytelling and psychological horror, I’m more than ready for this Puritan terror that has earned some of the strongest and most consistent reviews I’ve seen in some time for a genre movie. The trailers and posters that have been released help set the mood for what I’m hoping is a nail-biting trip back to Colonial America. — Arno
