1. Samurai Jack (2001–2017)

TV-MA | 23 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

A samurai, sent through time, fights to return home and save the world.

Stars: Phil LaMarr, Mako, Kevin Michael Richardson, Jeff Bennett

Votes: 59,667

Well, last go around I started the final season a bit too soon after the original run, so I thought I’d wait a bit and give it another go. Little did I know that a few months later I’d be dealing with The End of the Motherfucking World. So, now seems like a good ass time to get down to it.

It was the right decision. The cognitive dissonance was jarring jumping straight from season 4 to 5. It feels like a completely different show. And, it is. Season 5 was made more than 10 years after Cartoon Network cancelled the show. The animation, though still in the same style, has undergone a great leap forward in sophistication. But the tale feel far more grim than it ever did before. Before there was hope. Now hope is perilously hard to find. And Jack, though magically free from aging in the past 50 years of show time, has changed as well. He too has lost hope, and is resigned to keep fighting though there is no end in sight. And the evil of the world around him grows and grows. It is truly a show for our time.

But the show still has a warmth, a humor, and a wonderfully inventive imagination giving it life. And it manages to find a light in the darkness. More impressively, it’s able to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion.

2. What We Do in the Shadows (2019–2024)

TV-MA | 30 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror

A look into the nightly lives of four vampires who have lived together on Staten Island for over a century.

Stars: Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén

Votes: 102,880

Shit’s dope. Love them vampires, yo, specially Nandor. Nandor’s my boy. Nandor is like your homey you get blazed with and he becomes as innocent as a little boy, but still stays savage AF. But really, I love all them bloodsuckers. Nadja is a cool chick. Laszlo, AKA by boy Matt motherfucking Berry AKA Dr Lucien Sanchez, is a suave cat. They make a rad couple, feisty and chill. My favorite dude might just be Colin Robinson, the energy vampire, who is in no way cool, but who totally rocks it. Didn’t care much for Guillermo last season, but he growin on me; this year he has a good arc.

3. Locke & Key (2020–2022)

TV-14 | 48 min | Drama, Fantasy, Horror

After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father's death.

Stars: Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott

Votes: 97,353

The wife ain’t read them muffuckin graphic novels, so she’s feeling this a bit more than Yours Truly. Bit more fresh for her. To your main man here though, shit’s just a rehash. Not terrible, but I ain’t excited for it, neither.

4. The Daytripper (2009– )

Not Rated | 30 min | Reality-TV

Exploring Texas isn't a easy thing, it's a lifetime endeavor. But what if you didn't have a lifetime? What if you had only one day? That's where The Daytripper comes in.

Stars: Chet Garner, Daniel Mecey, Richard Lozano, Todd White

Votes: 62

A visit to the state capitol offers smirking cameos from useless shitheels Lt Gov Dan Patrick and Governor Greg Abbott. Fuck those motherfuckers and fuck this. Get cancelled.

Oh kumbaya, freeze peach and can’t we all get along, well fuck no. Patrick is a xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic narcissist, and fuck anyone willing to give this human canker sore a soap box to stick his ugly mug up on. Nice knowin’ ya, Chet.

Well sure, how were you to know that this sweaty fuck-stain would be among the first to loudly argue for as many of his countrymen to die as was necessary to keep our precious economy up and humming during the COVID 19 pandemic? Maybe you should have judged by the low esteem Mr Patrick holds for the lives of gays, immigrants, and women that he is a thug without a shred of moral fiber, hmm? And indeed, now it is plain that he and his ilk hold no one’s life in particular esteem. So it is with the Republican cult. Y’all eat shit and die now, bless your hearts.

5. On Story (2011– )

27 min | Talk-Show

6. The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs (2018– )

Joe Bob is back! Watching B-Movies and giving background and behind the scenes information. He watches Tourist Trap, Re-Animator and much much more.

Stars: John Bloom, Diana Prince, John Patrick Brennan, Yuki Nakamura

Votes: 1,875

This is how I’ve been watching most of my movies of late. I’m just about through the whole available catalog, at least on Shudder via Amazon, but hopefully they’ll do a holiday marathon later this year. Some small thing to give one hope for the future.

Not sure what I’ma do when I run out of episodes. Maybe give Elvira a go, or watch some more MST3K. Wonder if you can see Shock Theater anywhere? John Zacherle, the voice of Elmer on Brain Damage. Maybe there’s high quality episodes of Monstervision on the ‘tube.

Unfortunately, the old episodes seem to get yanked offline faster than they get put back up. Dead or Alive, now “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night”. I thought that was a Shudder exclusive? Fuck.

So... circa 11/8 I need to see One Cut of the Dead, Maniac, Bloodsucking Freaks, Daughters of Darkness, and The Hills Have Eyes. Then I’mma quit AMC+ (which bizarrely has certain Shudder offerings not available on Shudder-on-Amazon, but not quite everything that is on Shudder-on-Amazon), and I’ll re-up Shudder so I can see A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. And I’ll just have to wait to see Basket Case, Legend of Boggy Creek, CHUD, Wolf Guy, Demon Wind, and The Stuff. Gotta have a plan.

7. NOS4A2 (2019–2020)

TV-14 | 60 min | Drama, Fantasy, Horror

Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, has his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift.

Stars: Ashleigh Cummings, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jahkara Smith, Ebon Moss-Bachrach

Votes: 10,201

Maybe season 2 is a bit better thus far, or maybe it’s Stockholm syndrome. There’s a better sense of who the characters are, what they want, and that this is in fact going somewhere. Not great by any stretch, but passable so far. 4/10 for season 1. 6/10 for season 2. Against the odds, the show has made a case for its continued existence.

8. 13 Nights of Elvira (2014)

Not Rated | 92 min | Horror

Break out the crucifix, get some garlic, and say your prayers cause Elvira's coming for a visit. This October the Mistress of the Dark, herself, is digging up some awful-er-awesome movies ... See full summary »

Star: Cassandra Peterson

Votes: 323

This ain’t my bag. It’s like mst3k, with the host intruding into the frame and making wisecracks, but not nearly so clever or well-written. And mst3k is designed in a way that complements rather than distracts; Elvira stands in front of the screen telling bad Borsht Belt jokes, or texts you little quips that pop up on the screen. To be fair, the movies showcased here are all or nearly all dire Full Moon Entertainment joints; distraction is probably the best recourse.

Might check out Movie Macabre sometime, that could be a bit more tolerable. But I’m done with this.

9. Monstervision (1991–2000)

Action, Adventure, Comedy

"Monstervision" was a hosted movie show, with a number of hosts, one being John Bloom as "Joe Bob Briggs".

Stars: John Bloom, Renner St. John, Joe Flaherty, Rhonda Shear

Votes: 822

Might watch the Joe Bob segments on YouTube, but the whole episode rips are edited for content and predate hd television, so they’re pretty rough.

10. Axios (2018–2021)

11. Urban Legends (2007–2011)

30 min | Crime, Drama, Fantasy

Series which dramatises 3-4 well-known urban legends each episode. The catch is one (or more) of the 'legends' actually did happen, and it's for the viewer to figure it out.

Stars: Michael Allcock, Olivier Julian, Rusty Goffe, Vincent Thomas

Votes: 378

Looking for “Love Hurts” from season 2. Bezos, the Bezoar, the Bezonator, has season 1. Tubi has seasons 1 and 3. No sign of season 2 anywhere. I’ma keep my eyes peeled.

12. Eerie, Indiana (1991–1992)

TV-Y7 | 30 min | Adventure, Comedy, Drama

Teenage weirdness investigator Marshall Teller adventures through his new small-town home with his friends, geeky Simon Holmes and mysterious Dash X.

Stars: Omri Katz, Justin Shenkarow, Mary-Margaret Humes, Francis Guinan

Votes: 6,296

Seeing “Gremlins” at the drive-in has been one of my favorite moviegoing experiences of late, so I feel it’s time to dive a little deeper into Joe Dante’s oeuvre. This may be a bit too squeaky clean for my tastes, though. It’s silly and low stakes. Maybe it’ll click if I watch another episode or two.

13. Mystery Science Theater 3000: Radar Secret Service (2015)

Not Rated | 93 min

Mike and the Bots watch government agents use high-tech radar to track criminals on the black market in Radar Secret Service.

Votes: 21

The safety film up front is a riot, but “Radar Secret Service” itself put me to sleep. A promotional film about the wonders of radar, with characters talking time and again about all the amazing things radar can do, it is some pretty dull stuff. It has a plot, of course, about gangsters smuggling radioactives out of the country and the dedicated radar patrol that’s hot on their tails, but these characters are largely interchangeable, the comic relief is lousy, and the film piles on twists and turns which will surprise no one and which also no one will care about. Because what we care about, of course, is radar! We love radar! Radar, come back!

14. Mystery Science Theater 3000: Wild Rebels (2015)

Not Rated | 98 min

15. Monsters (1988–1990)

TV-14 | 30 min | Comedy, Drama, Fantasy

A horror anthology about a family of monsters watching a different horror story every week on their TV. Each tale is separate, often cautionary with occasional dark humor and irony and features various deadly creatures.

Stars: John Bolger, Pamela Dean Kelly, Michael J. Anderson, Carlos Lauchu

Votes: 2,008

Pilot on Imdb tv. Low rent and silly. In “The Feverman” a doctor butts heads with a faith healer, who contends that diseases are actually big demonic fat guys who you must coax out of the patient with a magic crystal and beat into submission. Producer Richard Rubinstein is one of the brains behind similar horror anthology “Tales from the Darkside”, which had similar production value and a similar EC Comics ethos, if a less limited premise. I might revisit this, but I don’t care for the imdb tv interface, which puts its commercial breaks just a little before the freeze frames here.

I happen to know that a Dan Simmons story about monstrous invisible parasites being the actual cause of cancer was made into later episode, which makes ya wonder, how often did the show return to that particular well?

16. The Storyteller (1987–1989)

TV-Y7 | 24 min | Adventure, Drama, Family

An old storyteller tells European folk tales to his sarcastic dog.

Stars: John Hurt, Brian Henson, Frederick Warder, David Greenaway

Votes: 5,007

This is more like it. The great John Hurt plays a charismatic storyteller, who brings old folk tales to life with a little help from the creatures of the Jim Henson workshop.

17. SeaQuest 2032 (1993–1996)

TV-PG | 60 min | Action, Adventure, Family

In the early 21st century, mankind has colonized the oceans. The United Earth Oceans Organization enlists Captain Nathan Bridger and the submarine seaQuest DSV to keep the peace and explore the last frontier on Earth.

Stars: Jonathan Brandis, Don Franklin, Ted Raimi, Darwin

Votes: 7,783

The two part premiere drags in the first hour, as Roy Scheider, understandably reluctant to go back into the water, time and again resists the call to adventure. The story here hinges on him turning his back on the military, vowing never to return, and a crafty old admiral teaming with the SeaQuest XO to get him to change his mind. But by the time he was all in, so was I.

You could probably guess at a glance that this show is exactly like Star Trek, only it’s underwater. You would be correct. But though the pilot is formulaic, it has the best of Trek. Charismatic stars! Sassy child prodigies! A snazzy logo! An uplifting orchestral score! A earnest message about environmentalism! A ruthless ice queen captain relieved of command in dramatic fashion! Combat! Treachery! Sabotage! A sneering French supervillain played by Michael Parks! And a heroic dolphin with the voice of Frank Welker!

18. The 50 Best Horror Movies You've Never Seen (2014 TV Movie)

Not Rated | 139 min | Documentary, Horror

Fifty lesser-known horror flicks hailed by critics and genre fans as "absolute must-sees" are given the spotlight with fun, engaging commentary from journalists, directors, actors and critics in a countdown like no other.

Director: Anthony Masi | Stars: Peter Atkins, Michelle Bauer, Rachel Belofsky, Arnold T. Blumberg

Votes: 670

Clickbait listicle In televisual form, with a bunch of tedious “experts” heaping effusive, repetitive, inarticulate praise on a bunch of horror movies that are neither obscure nor, for the most part, terribly good.

19. Other Space (2015)

30 min | Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi

A young and inexperienced crew venture into space to face mysterious clouds, folds in time and the occasional alien attack, as well as more household challenges.

Stars: Trace Beaulieu, Neil Casey, Eugene Cordero, Joel Hodgson

Votes: 2,659

Unfortunately, this show was part of the slate of original programming commissioned for Yahoo Screen. So, never had a chance. It’s amusing. And it has a good interpersonal dynamic: the crew of the Cruiser are a bunch of people who don’t particularly like each other who are forced to live and work together. Good crop of talent, promising newcomers and a welcome reunion of MST3K veterans. Cordero and Soni have moved on to new projects, but I hope to see all of these actors again... hell, for another season of “Other Space”, if the gods will it.

20. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014– )

TV-MA | 30 min | Comedy, News, Talk-Show

Former Daily Show host and correspondent John Oliver brings his persona to this weekly news satire program.

Watched the episode with Missy Doty. Much of the series is on the ‘tube (which tube? You know the tube. Your tube), apparently recorded on VHS. But that captures the frenetic editing and flatness of this sitcom just the same.

It’s a pretty stock sitcom structure, with an A plot and B plot that converge at the end (a C plot too, or maybe it’s just a runner, about their female roommate and her pie ad campaign). A gag where the gang kills a random old lady by triggering her garage door with the contraption that’s supposed to help them steal cable tv is ineptly staged, which diminishes the potential shock value.

You might be interested to know that the episode does not do well when subjected to the fearsome Bechdel test.

22. Archer (2009–2023)

TV-MA | 22 min | Animation, Action, Comedy

Covert black ops and espionage take a back seat to zany personalities and relationships between secret agents and drones.

Stars: H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Chris Parnell

Votes: 166,002

Back to the danger zone. I’m excited for this show again. The coma dream seasons were diverting at first, but by the end they had grown truly tedious. And with Archer in a weakened state, and the rest of the gang having grown and matured in the meantime, the dynamic is fresh and the formula is askew. It’s about time.

And indeed, looks like we’re in for a return to the status quo. Cheryl gets a good choke and that gleam of evil satiety is back in her eyes. Cyril, enjoying his reign as the agency’s golden boy, gets a bit of egg on his face again. Archer is the bad penny, the destabilizing influence that takes the well-honed machinery of Isis -or whatever they’re calling it these days- and tips it off its axis. So far, so predictable. But we’ll see what the future holds. Strange thing to say in the miserable goddamn year, but I’m looking forward to it.

23. It's Bruno! (2019)

TV-MA | 15 min | Short, Comedy

An old-school Brooklyn native devotes his days to caring for his adorable dog, Bruno, and making sure the neighbors show his pooch the proper respect.

Stars: Solvan Naim, Bruno, Sam Eliad, Donnell Rawlings

Votes: 3,283

The Algorithm has decreed that millennials will enjoy a thinly conceived sitcom about a Brooklyn man whose life revolves around his dog. The Algorithm mandates that it be mercifully short, at least, and have a number of kooky characters in supporting roles. The Algorithm requires there to be a lot of dog poop depicted in all its glory in the show. Do not question The Algorithm, for The Algorithm knows all. Verily, the show shall run for a thousand seasons. So saith The Algorithm.

24. La porta sul buio (1973)

60 min | Drama, Horror, Mystery

Italian thriller TV anthology show with an emphasis on mystery, intrigue, and suspense.

Stars: Marilù Tolo, Robert Hoffmann, Enzo Cerusico, Aldo Reggiani

Votes: 318

A Dario Argento horror anthology series. Sounds enticing, mm? I’ll probably watch the other three, but “The Neighbor” from director Luigi Cozzi, is dreadfully slow. This is a script that would have felt padded if it had been whittled down to half an hour. At a full hour it is murder. Cozzi, who also made Alien rip-off “Contamination”, fails to generate much suspense, and the episode looks... well, like it was made for Italian tv in the 70’s, frankly. Which it was.

25. Holliston (2012–2013)

TV-MA | 22 min | Comedy, Horror, Romance

Two down and out aspiring filmmakers struggle with life, career, and the opposite sex as they attempt to make it out of the small New England town they are trapped in and into the big time.

Stars: Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Laura Ortiz, Corri English

26. Highway to Heaven (1984–1989)

TV-PG | 60 min | Drama, Fantasy

A probationary angel, sent back to Earth, teams with an ex-cop to help people.

Stars: Michael Landon, Victor French, James Troesh, Margie Impert

Votes: 6,526

“Friends”. “Highway to Heaven” walked so that “Touched by an Angel” could fly. Is that something? Is that funny, even? Guess not.

Judy Carmen here’s pretty cute. Passed away at 52, looks like. Damn.

Preachy after school special melodrama. The show, near as I can tell from the one installment, is so episodic it’s practically an anthology, with star Landon, looking grouchy, playing a supporting role in the guest stars’ story each week.

27. Dispatches from Elsewhere (2020)

TV-14 | 45 min | Drama, Mystery

Feeling as though there's something missing in their lives, four ordinary people stumble across a puzzle hiding just beyond the veil of everyday life, and their eyes are opened to a world of possibility and magic.

Stars: Jason Segel, André 3000, Eve Lindley, Richard E. Grant

Votes: 5,403

Great pilot, wry humor and deft writing. There is a smart subversion of the hero’s journey at work here. “You don’t belong here. Come with us. You belong with the special ones.” So goes the recorded message Peter (Jason Siegel) hears when he stumbles into the office of the Jejune Institute, and he cries tears of joy, of unnamed pain, and of disbelief, because deep down Peter knows that he’s not special, he’s just an ordinary guy. But he wants so badly to be extraordinary that the lure of the message is undeniable.

28. Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2024)

TV-14 | 60 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

Stars: Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman

Votes: 135,288

Nothing quite like an exclusive series making its way to network tv. It’s catnip; I bite every time.

29. The Weekly (2019– )

26 min | News

The Weekly is a new documentary TV series from The New York Times, bringing unparalleled journalism to the screen.

Stars: Maggie Haberman, Azam Ahmed, Bernie Sanders, Jessica Silver-Greenberg

Votes: 312

Got a few leftovers from the first season. Watched “Fire and Water”, about the protests in Hong Kong against the proposed law allowing extradition to mainland China: a serious blow to the eroding democracy of Hong Kong. Specifically focused on the brutal crackdown by Hong Kong police against protestors, shooting some at point blank, tear gassing crowds on the subway. Students adopted increasingly aggressive tactics in response to the overwhelming force from police, blocking off the city’s universities with bricks and makeshift barricades, arming themselves with Molotov cocktails and trebuchets, and shutting down Hong Kong’s major thoroughfares. It’s wrenching to watch these kids get bulldozed by a totalitarian government while trying to cling to their democratic way of life. Especially as here in America, liberty is dying in the darkness of willful ignorance.

30. Fargo (2014–2024)

TV-MA | 60 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

Various chronicles of deception, intrigue, and murder in and around frozen Minnesota. All of these tales mysteriously lead back one way or another to Fargo, North Dakota.

Stars: Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Allison Tolman, Colin Hanks

Votes: 422,215

Season 4. I am enjoying this season. It has a very, very big cast of characters, and so far it’s a bit puzzling that some characters rate as stars when they have yet to stand out from the rest of the ensemble. But the stories that connect do so really well, and the plotting really twists your emotions into knots. Divides your loyalties. Our spirit animal in this knotting is Rabbi Milligan, a foot soldier in the Italian mob. Milligan was the son of an Irish gang lord, twice traded to rival families as a gesture of peace, and kin to no one, or at least no one left alive in the Kansas City underworld. As such, he enjoys an especially precarious place way at the bottom of the pecking order.

33. The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

TV-MA | 45 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller

Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes wakes up from a coma to learn the world is in ruins and must lead a group of survivors to stay alive.

Stars: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan

Votes: 1,082,867

Season finale was delayed due to Covid. This show has too many characters, and a months-long gap between episodes is more than enough time to forget who’s who, who’s where, and what everybody’s deal is. I think this finale would have been underwhelming even if I had a better idea of all that. Angela Kang has done pretty well as show runner, but this show is having a harder and harder time justifying its existence.

So, the whisperers and their hoard all got got, and the Alexandria crew is all hugging it out. But there’s a certain someone in the crowd who would not be pleased to see Negan out walking around. Feels phony not even acknowledging that.

34. Let's Be Real (2020–2021)

TV-14 | 22 min | Comedy

Stars: Colleen Smith, Ali Caiazzo, Russ Walko, Artie Esposito

Election-themed comedy special with puppets, brought to you by Robert Smigel. Thanks! I hate it. It elicits an occasional chuckle, but it is no reprieve from the claustrophobic nightmare of American life.

In the premiere, it must be noted that the 1,001 car train has a smaller train inside it. Well, how else are you going to get from caboose to locomotive in a timely fashion? Trainception!

I have my doubts that there’s much to be gained by expanding Bong Joon Ho’s film to series length. But I guess I’m giving it a shot. Better catch it while still in demand, because it looks like TNT regularly let golf run into the time slot. Golf, of all things. Is there a more stirring metaphor for the rich running roughshod over the rest of us than a network letting endless masturbatory golf coverage push a humble sci-fi drama out of its rightful time slot? None presently occurs to me.

Gotta have a mid-tier, middlebrow basic cable drama to while away the time. Walking Dead and NOS4A2, now this I guess.

The Story of Dogs

The Story of Cats (in Asia and the Americas)

“Pandas: Born to Be Wild” contrasts the lives of wild pandas and those in captivity. The wild panda is a fearsome beast; don’t forget, this thing may eat bamboo, but it is a bear, massive, territorial, armed with powerful jaws. Zoo dwellers, even those kept by diligent scientists in the Chinese mountains, have it soft; they are playful, social, and the behaviors that help them survive in the wild are... well, rusty. We meet a newborn cub and watch him grow and explore, and contemplate his future as the scientists groom him to for introduction to the wild.

Australian Bushfire Rescue- heartbreaking look at the devastation of Australia’s Black Summer, in which drought and rising temperatures created massive wildfires, on a scale hitherto unheard of. The fauna of Australia are not strangers to fire, but their various survival strategies were no match for the fires of the Black Summer. The blaze expanded too swiftly for the kangaroos to outrun, burned too hot for burrowers to survive underground, and was too all-consuming for those that would typical escape by climbing into the treetops.

Streaming on the nbc online thingie. Season 2, naturally is on their premium tier. Thank you generous hosts! Saw the first 2 episodes for free on the Audience Network’s site couple years back. It was good, really good. Not so good that I was going to switch tv services, but I have been waiting for it to pop up somewhere where I can see it without taking such drastic measures.

Ok, “good, really good” is definitely overselling it. Good work from Gleeson as usual. Treadaway is a strong villain. Thankless roles for the supporting ladies; the chick from “Weeds” makes the most of hers, the mom from “2.5 Men” does not, though to be fair her role this far is decidedly the most thankless. (Puts on bloody Gene Shalit skin mask): “This Mercedes is too formulaic for Formula 1, and it frequently stalls! Nyuk nyuk nyuk!”

Director: Greg Nicotero | Stars: Kiefer Sutherland, Joey King, Fayna Sanchez, Mason Pike

Stories from Kings junior and senior made into a motion comic. “Survivor Type” is resoundingly okay, elevated by intense narration from Kiefer Sutherland. I mean, it’s about as good as you could hope for it to be, with this cheap animation meant to evoke a comic book come to life.

The Joe Hill story has far less to recommend it. Joey King (far as I know, no relation) narrates, with a stereotypical bitchy teenage girl voice. Our protagonist is, like, on a road trip with her, like, family, and they, like, stop in the middle of the desert to, like, see the zombie circus. The story is related entirely in tweet form, our vapid millennial hero remaining glued to her phone as the weirdness escalates around her. This should be a parable about our culture of denial and self-absorption, but it feels too simplistic, and fails to engage our emotions. The audience has invited the fate that befalls it, and their destruction holds no sting. “Fine,” we think. “They got what they deserved.” After all, the circus is coming to our town, and who will cry for us when we get what’s coming to us?
