One of the worst Jesse James movies and westerns I have ever seen! Watching it was a painful exercise in movie appreciation more than enjoyment.
As a biography or historical movie, it's okay, for anyone who likes artsy music and scenery, and long drawn-out moments without dialogue.
This movie would be a lot shorter if all the scenes without dialogue were cut out and they got to the point; the title is long enough but the runtime is atrocious.
It is not my idea of a western though since it lacks two things essential to a western: good stunts and exciting music. The music puts me to sleep more than wakes me up for the chase, and there isn't really any chase in this movie; it's more of a stalking by Bob Ford.
The actors are good actors and I enjoy them in many other movies, but these aren't roles I enjoyed seeing them in and I do not need to see this movie ever again.

My husband and I love bad movies, but when we watch a bad movie without knowing it's going to be bad, it leaves us irritated.
What's funny is that while Eye of the Beholder has a 26 metascore on IMDb, Baby Geniuses has a 6 metascore and was more enjoyable to watch because it had an actual conclusion!
Eye of the Beholder goes nowhere very slowly; it reminds me of the 1990s though -- weird for the sake of being weird. It's not David Lynch weird where everything comes together in the end; nothing comes together -- nothing; the acting isn't bad though (Jason Priestley was great in an anti-Brandon Walsh role), it's just a bad story.
Since I don't want to think I wasted time watching the movie, I came up with one redeeming message in the film: abandoning children can screw up both the child and the parent.
