In the glamorous world of Hollywood, where stars often seem to lead fairy-tale lives, the reality behind the scenes can be far from glamorous. Sylvester Stallone, renowned for his portrayal of Rocky Balboa, has been in the public eye not only for his cinematic achievements but also for the challenging chapters of his personal life. One such chapter was his whirlwind romance with Brigitte Nielsen, which captivated the public as the two became one of the most iconic celebrity couples of the 1980s.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Julie Pizzi of reality TV production company 51 Minds Entertainment revealed that a reboot of Flavor of Love was in the works.
“We’re in the process of working with Flavor Flav to reimagine what Flavor of Love can feel like in this decade, which is very different. The project is really fun, a comedy in the dating space,” Pizzi explained.

The ‘very male-gazed orientation’ of the 1980s version of Red Sonja will be a thing of the past in the remake, says Matilda Lutz.
Fantasy adventure Red Sonja emerged in 1985, three years after 1982’s Conan The Barbarian and around the time of the unexpectedly daft Conan The Destroyer. Red Sonja, directed by Destroyer’s Richard Fleischer, cashed in on that series’ popularity and also featured its star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, alongside 80s icon Brigitte Nielsen who starred as the titular female warrior.
There has been talk of a reboot of the movie for years, but it seems to be a project that has taken forever to bring to the screen – and we’re not just talking about the hold-ups caused by strikes and pandemics. For well over a decade, various attempts have been made to get the film up and running, with creative talent such as Robert Rodriguez, Rose McGowan, Simon West,...

A scene from She Is Conann. Courtesy of Altered Innocence
Let’s begin with the title, She Is Conann. One might expect a distaff approximation of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1982 Conan The Barbarian, its sequel Conan The Destroyer two years later, and the zillion, or so, incarnations those spawned in live action or anime over the following 41 years. Or a reboot of 1985’s Red Sonja, in which statuesque Brigitte Nielsen matched Ahnuld’s Kalidor (think Conan Lite) blow-for-blow. But, as the Pythons would say, “And now for something completely different…”
This version comes from France, Belgium and Luxembourg. It’s sort of a post-apocalyptic or alternate universe piece of mysticism, with time travel in the mix. The tale is narrated in a wraparound with an elderly Conann telling her story to a possible successor to her throne, guided by dog-faced vassal, Rainer (Elina Lowensohn). I didn’t mention who plays Conann...

The stars hit the streets of Los Angeles Saturday afternoon for Balenciaga’s much-anticipated fashion show.
Kim Kardashian arrived carrying an Erewhon shopping bag, the latest collaboration between the luxury fashion house and the upscale grocery store.
“This is my purse for the day,” Kardashian told me, explaining that Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia asked her to carry it. “There are flowers in it. I’m going to give them to Demna later.”
One onlooker whispered, “I heard the bags are $1,000.”
Cardi B was a surprise model in the show. Wearing an oversized blue coat, Cardi later joined Teyana Taylor to pose for photographers in the front row.
Another celeb model was 1980s movie icon Brigitte Nielsen.
The show took place on a blocked-off residential street in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Rumor has it that residents on the block were paid $1,000 per house for the inconvenience.

Sylvester Stallone‘s Rocky is a classic film about a small-time Philadelphia boxer who gets to fight a heavyweight champion—the redemption tale centered on hard-luck Rocky’s quest for self-respect. The story hit a nerve with moviegoers and subsequently spawned a multitude of sequels. Today, is Sylvester Stallone the oldest living member of the Rocky cast?
Who is still alive from the ‘Rocky’ series of films?
The Rocky films created iconic characters beloved by film fans. These include Rocky and Adrian Balboa, Paulie Penning, Apollo Creed, Micky Goldmill, Duke Evers, Clubber Lang, Ivan and Ludmilla Drago, and Tommy Gunn. But is Sylvester Stallone currently the oldest living member of the Rocky cast?

In the early eighties, Arnold Schwarzenegger had become a star through his role in Conan the Barbarian. Following a critically maligned but successful sequel, Conan the Destroyer, Schwarzenegger sought to move into more contemporary roles. His contract with producer Dino De Laurentis was ending, but the legendary mogul wanted to use Schwarzenegger’s star power to launch another adaption of Robert E. Howard’s work – Red Sonja. The resulting film was a star vehicle for Brigitte Nielsen, who some saw as a potential female action icon, and Schwarzenegger, due to his contract with De Laurentis, had no choice but to appear in a critical supporting role (for which he would be top-billed) opposite Nielsen, who played the titular character.

Appropriately enough, Thom Zimny’s latest star-driven documentary, “Sly,” comes out swinging. Well, its subject certainly does. Regrets? “Hell, yeah, I have regrets!” Sylvester Stallone bellows at the camera. Not only does he have them, he’s ready to tell you all about them, what they are, where they came from, how they motivate him, how often he thinks of them, and what he plans to do about them. From the start, Stallone is remarkably open and wonderfully self-aware, though as is so often the case with celebrity-driven docs, even his candid nature comes with some caveats.
For its roughly 90-minute running time, “Sly” covers plenty of ground and should please both Stallone aficionados and those interested in learning more about the iconic star beyond...

"Rocky IV" was my favorite movie in the franchise as an '80s kid, although the death of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) was tough to take. We knew something bad was going to happen when the showboating former champ stepped into the ring against Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), but the brutal manner in which he got destroyed was shocking. The way Apollo was left twitching on the canvas as his life ebbed away was deeply upsetting, made even worse by Drago's stone-cold delivery verdict: "If he dies, he dies."
Nowadays, the film only comes fourth in my overall assessment of the series. When you take a step back from the nostalgia and the irresistibly cheesy bombast, only two things happen in the movie. Apollo dies, then Rocky gets payback by beating the Russian fighter in his own yard. Big events, admittedly, but the rest is just filler, a mixture of...

Sylvester Stallone has had a few franchises over the years – Rocky, Rambo, The Expendables – but he also has a film that should have been a franchise starter, but never received any of the sequels it deserved. That’s the 1986 classic Cobra (watch it Here), which also happens to be the movie The Arrow in the Head Show hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are talking about in the new episode of the series. A reboot of Red Sonja spent nearly fifteen years in development hell before going into production last year with director M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) at the helm. Before Bassett signed on, the project had passed through the hands of directors Robert Rodriguez, Simon West, Bryan Singer, and Joey Soloway, with Hannah John-Kamen, Rose McGowan, and Amber Heard being considered for the lead role. Today The Hollywood Reporter posted an interesting article about how Red Sonja was able to escape from development hell… and it basically boils down to a director’s enthusiasm for the material and a producer’s desperation to get the movie made.
The 50-something Bassett says she has been borderline obsessed with Red Sonja since her childhood, and “I cursed every time they announced someone else (as director). I kept telling them, ‘When you change again, let me know.’” And they did let her know when Soloway...

The site of the day’s carnage is a small village half an hour by car from Sofia, capital of Bulgaria. Under gray skies, Shire-like houses dot a lush green meadow. M.J. Bassett, back hunched, ponytail swinging, tramps across the location for the shoot, which will recount a key moment in the origin story of Red Sonja, the voluptuous comic book heroine known to fans for rallying kinfolk to fight evil while clad in her signature chain-mail bikini. The rain hardens and Bassett, with neither the time nor the budget to linger, sets up the scene. Pyrotechnics are fine, she tells an assistant director, but what really matters is emotional impact. She wants tight, close shots, the children’s painful choices to be clear.
That Red Sonja is shooting at all is a minor miracle. The fantasy epic set loosely in the world of Conan the Barbarian could wind up...

There are generally two main schools of thought on "Rocky IV:" You can bemoan how ridiculous the franchise had become since the grittiness of the Oscar-winning original film, or celebrate it for finally shrugging off all semblance of reality to become such a glorious example of '80s excess. I say life is too short for the former and, while it is the most thinly plotted of the series to that point, I still love "Rocky IV" for the bombastic sports cartoon that it is.
Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is no longer just the lovable slugger from Philly; now he is a boxing superhero whose powers are an indestructible head and indefatigable spirit, a man so full of good intentions that he can even win the hearts of those stony-faced Russians in the death throes of the Cold War. That is where we end up in "Rocky IV." Having...

In the 1985 action film "Commando," Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as John Matrix, a retired U.S. Army Colonel who has just 11 hours to rescue his daughter, Jenny (Alyssa Milano), from a group of mercenaries. Along the way, Matrix carjacks and forces help from Cindy (Rae Dawn Chong), a flight attendant and pilot-in-training. Finding the right actress to play the character was a challenge for the casting team.
The role of Cindy was originally written for a white actress. The film's director, Mark L. Lester told Yahoo Entertainment that 40 white actresses -- including Sharon Stone and Brigitte Nielsen -- auditioned for the role; "the usual suspects" he called them. However, it was Rae Dawn Chong, a Black Canadian woman who stood out. "She was the most comedic, and did the best reading," he said. "We were way ahead of our time in that way." We are big fans of the 1986 Sylvester Stallone action slasher Cobra (watch it at This Link) here on JoBlo and Arrow in the Head, so it’s cool to see that a sixth scale figure of Stallone’s Cobra character Marion Cobretti is now available for pre-order through Sly Stallone Shop. This officially licensed figure, endorsed by Stallone himself, looks awesome… and it should, considering it’s going for the price of 290! An image of the figure can be seen at the bottom of this article, and more can be seen at the Sly Stallone Shop link.
The figure, which stands approximately 12 inches tall, has the following features: – Ultra-realistic head sculpt (Hand painted) – Over 28 Points of articulation (Approx 30 cm / 12 Inches) – 6 posable gloved hands – Black Jacket – Black shirt – Jeans – Boots – Weapon holster – Colt Gold Cup National Match (Custom) – Machinegun Jatimatic Smg with 4 magazines and laser optic – Two hand grenades – Police badge...

Richard Fleischer's peplum film "Red Sonja" was released in the United States on July 3, 1985, making it the very first feature film to be based on a Marvel Comics character. And while some scholars in the field of Depression-era pulp magazines might point out that Red Sonja actually finds her origins in Robert E. Howard's 1934 Magic Carpet Magazine short story "Shadow of the Vulture" (wherein she was called Red Sonya of Rogatino), it's clear that Fleischer's film was more directly based on Marvel's repurposed version of the character from 1973.
If one needs further evidence of the "Red Sonja" movie's Marvel credentials, one can point to the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film, as a very Conan-the-Barbarian-like character named Kalidor. While this doesn't technically link "Red Sonja" to the 1982 film version of "Conan the Barbarian," it's close enough to be considered at least a spinoff. After all,...

The new Disney+ series from Marvel Studios, She-Hulk, is in full swing. The show is based on the character created by Stan Lee and John Buscema and made her first appearance in 1980. But this is not the first time they tried to get a live-action version off the ground. Best Movies Never Made, the official Twitter handle for the podcast of the same name, recently posted pics about an unproduced She-Hulk movie from 1991.
The movie had planned to star six-foot model-turned-actress Brigitte Nielsen. She had made her film debut as the heroine in Red Sonja, a distant cousin of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Conan the Barbarian series (he shows up – but not as Conan). The tall framed actress went on to Rocky IV and Cobra, co-starring then-husband Sylvester Stallone. Her stature seemed like a perfect fit to portray Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner.

"Red Sonja" is finally getting a movie. Millennium Media announced on Aug. 23 that the movie, based on the comic-book character of the same name, will star Matilda Lutz as Red Sonja alongside "Batwoman" star Wallis Day and "The Umbrella Academy" actor Robert Sheehan. Millennium also confirmed the movie is currently in production.
In case the name doesn't ring any bells for you, here's a refresher. Red Sonja is a comic-book character who first appeared in Marvel's Conan the Barbarian series from 1973 to 1995. In 2005, she moved over to Dynamite Comics, where they eventually rebooted the character's backstory. They've consistently published Red Sonja series since then. Red Sonja famously wears a chain-mail bikini with thigh-high boots and long gloves. More recent issues have also portrayed the character as bisexual.

In the nearly four decades since the first live-action film starring Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger, another adaptation of Dynamite Entertainment's "Red Sonja" has failed to materialize in Hollywood — but it's not for lack of trying. Robert Rodriguez once had a vision that included Rose McGowan in the titular role. Before allegations of sexual assault were brought to light, Bryan Singer was also in line to helm a project based on the character originally created for Marvel Comics in 1973 by writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith. And the third attempt in recent history included "Ant-Man and the Wasp" star Hannah John-Kamen as the lead and "Transparent" creator Joey Soloway in the director's chair.

Sylvester Stallone Nearly Died in ‘Rocky IV’ Fight: Dolph Lundgren ‘Pulverized’ and Hospitalized Him
Sylvester Stallone marked the release of his “Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago” director’s cut with a behind-the-scenes documentary released on his YouTube channel. The video is stirring up buzz for Stallone’s revelation that he nearly died filming an iconic fight scene opposite Dolph Lundgren. The fight resulted in Stallone being hospitalized for four days before he could return to set and continue filming the fight scene. Lundgren’s punch that landed Stallone in the hospital made it into the final cut of the film.
“The first thing we shot [was] my entrance, [Lundgren’s] entrance, and the introductions and then I got really injured during the fight and I had to be flown into intensive care to California from Canada,” Stallone said. “[Lundgren] pulverized me. And I didn’t feel it in the moment but later that night my heart started to swell. My blood pressure went up to 260 and I was...

"I gotta take everything he's got." MGM Studios has debuted a new trailer for the recut special edition of Rocky IV, which will be playing on the big screen for one-night-only this November. This new version is officially called Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago - The Ultimate Director's Cut, and it was updated by Stallone himself. He also wrote & directed & starred in the original 1985 film, which sees Rocky battling the brutal Soviet fighter Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren. Stallone has added 40 minutes of never-before-seen footage to the film originally made at the very end of the Cold War. The cast also includes Brigitte Nielsen, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, Michael Pataki, Talia Shire, Stu Nahan, and Tony Burton. We're not entirely sure what is in the extra 40 minutes of footage, but it's likely more footage of training and the fights. There is also some renewed interest in this Rocky because it's...

Rocky IV is often callously dismissed as a motion picture punchline embodying 1980s absurdity and the popcorn-friendly selling-out of what was once an Oscar-winning franchise. However, the film remains widely beloved, and clearly means a lot to its star/writer/director, Sylvester Stallone. Having long felt the 1985 film was unfinished, Stallone recently took upon the task of reediting the existing raw footage into what is essentially a new movie. Thusly, the film fully titled Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago | The Ultimate Director’s Cut has come into being, now teased by the release of its first official trailer.
While a definitive list of changes from the Rocky IV Director’s Cut will obviously have to wait until the film’s November release, its just-dropped trailer is nevertheless a gold mine of teased tweaks. What is immediately clear is that Stallone has done his level best to mitigate the Cold-War-evoking movie’s more notorious aspects,...

In 1985, a plucky underdog from the “City of Brotherly Love” helped ease Cold War tensions with his gutsy triumph over a Soviet slugger and his passionate reminder that “everybody can change.” That ringside speech, of course, was the dramatic culmination of “Rocky IV,” one of the biggest hits of that year and critical component of the Sylvester Stallone canon. There were come-from-behind-victories, dramatic montages, and that stirring theme music, courtesy of Bill Conti — all the things that made the franchise so great. But fans of the Rocky saga might be forgiven for wondering, what got left on the cutting room floor?
Well, wonder no longer. “Rocky V. Drago: The Ultimate Director’s Cut” will deliver 40 more minutes of never-before-seen footage. The film, which Stallone directed as well as starred in, will be available for a one-night only engagement in theaters on Nov. 11. “Red Sonja” has found its star.
Hannah John-Kamen, best known as the villain Ghost in “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” will wield the sword of the comic book fantasy hero in Millennium Films’ long-gestating feature adaptation. Brigitte Nielsen says the coronavirus has hit close to home in her family.
The actress, 56, made an appearance on The Talk on Tuesday where she revealed her sons were in Milan, Italy where the coronavirus has hit particularly hard.
“I speak to my children every day. They are in Milan, and they are in the area where it’s more dangerous,” Nielsen said. “True, the entire country, 16 million people, is now on lockdown. What my kids are saying, they are fine, but it is a very, very difficult situation for them because they are scared.”

Do you remember what was Big in '04? Paris Hilton saying "That's hot." Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. Flavor Flav and Brigitte Nielsen. None of those things are big anymore, but behind the scenes at VH1's Big in '04 Awards something much more momentous was brewing. Dec. 1, 2004, happens to have been the night when Ellen DeGeneres ran into Portia de Rossi at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium, after which de Rossi's life would never be the same. Well, neither of their lives would ever be the same, because they've been together ever since, but de Rossi emerged like a butterfly from her chrysalis, slowly but surely, finally embracing who she was. The Ally...

Sharon Osbourne unloaded on Simon Cowell and America’s Got Talent Tuesday in the wake of Gabrielle Union’s firing from the series.
Osbourne — who spent six years as a judge on the NBC competition show — said it’s run like a “boys club.”
“It is a boys club, okay, it is,” Osbourne said Tuesday on The Talk. “And the boys take care of each other, and the women are not paid as much as the men. I was on the show before Howie [Mandel]. I was one of them that helped put the show where it was.”
As she sat at The Talk‘s round table with Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, Marie Osmond, and guest co-host Brigitte Nielsen, Osbourne noted that Agt creator Cowell wasn’t on the judging panel when the series had its highest ratings.
“Simon owns the show, and the time I was there, Simon was never on the show.

Former “America’s Got Talent” judge Sharon Osbourne chimed in about the Gabrielle Union firing controversy Tuesday, calling the NBC reality competition show “a boys’ club.”
“It is a boys’ club, okay, it is,” Osbourne said on Tuesday’s episode of “The Talk,” which she hosts along with Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, Marie Osmond, and guest host Brigitte Nielsen. “The boys take care of each other, and the women are not paid as much as the men.
