Chris McCausland and Lee Mack will star as feuding neighbours in Sky Max Christmas comedy Bad Tidings.
Comedians Chris McCausland and Lee Mack are building up quite a portfolio of work together – they previously collaborated on an episode of the latter’s hit sitcom Not Going Out last year, in which McCausland played a passenger travelling in the same carriage as Lee’s family, and they also presented at the BAFTAs together, as well as McCausland making appearances on Mack’s game show Would I Lie To You.
They are now starring together in festive film Bad Tidings for Sky Max. The synopsis reads as follows:
This year’s Sky Original Christmas special revolves around grumpy home-security expert Neil (Mack) and his neighbour Scott (McCausland), who insists on keeping his Christmas lights illuminated all-year-round. A new documentary from Investigation Discovery is exposing the culture of abuse within a group of Christian churches associated with the Duggar family. Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals examines a pattern of predatory behavior within the Independent Fundamental Baptist churches and the efforts of survivors to find justice. The four-part docuseries premieres Friday, Nov. 24.
‘Let Us Prey’ exposes Ifb ‘secrets and violence’
Although the name might not be familiar to many viewers, the Independent Fundamental Baptists are a powerful force within American Christianity. Since its founding in the 1950s, the Ifb “has evolved into one of the dominant religious forces in the United States today with an estimated 8 million believers spread out over 6,000 churches across the country,” according to ID. The loosely affiliated group has a “cheery and virtuous exterior.” However, that masks the “depraved secrets and violence that have existed within their churches for decades.”

Give Me an A is a a horror, sci-fi, dark comedy response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade and will be screening Sunday April 2nd at 3:30 at the Overlook Film Festival. Ahead of the fest, I caught up with Natasha Halevi, who talked about the origins of this film, the quick turnaround on the project, tackling this important subject, and more:
Give Me an A was created as a response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. How did the idea of this project first come about?
On June 24th, 2022 Roe v. Wade was overturned. Like a lot women (and anyone of any gender affected) I crumpled to the ground sobbing. I felt powerless and totally out of control. I knew in many states people would be affected immediately. I heard the Clarance Thomas statement that contraception and same sex marriage would be next so I knew this...

The BBC has been pulled into the controversy following the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade, after one of its news presenters used a controversial term on air.
Today presenter Amol Rajan used the term “pro-life” twice on air to describe anti-abortion campaigners.
During the flagship BBC radio news programme, Rajan eschewed the BBC News style guide which advises journalists to use the term “anti-abortion rather than pro-life” in a discussion about the ruling’s repercussions, and used the latter description in a discussion with the BBC’s North America editor Sarah Smith:
“As you say, Sarah, this is not the end but the end of the beginning. Because for the pro-life groups, for the pro-life coalition, who have been campaigning for this for many, many years, since Roe v Wade actually, they’re very ambitious, aren’t they, there’s a lot more that they want to achieve.

The movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Stardust took on a life of its own thanks to Matthew Vaughn.
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
“A philosopher once asked, 'Are we human because we gaze at the stars, or do we gaze at them because we are human?' Pointless, really. Do the stars gaze back? Now, that's a question.”
Comic book movies are Matthew Vaughn's speciality. Between Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and the Kingsman franchise, he's been a constant and eclectic presence as these films have boomed, and if reports are to be believed, his next film could be about either Flash Gordon or Superman.
But going back even further than Mark Millar or Marvel, Vaughn's first comic book movie was his adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Stardust. Before it was published as a novel in 1999, Gaiman conceived the postmodern fairy tale as a 'prestige'...

Charlie Brooker's blink-and-you-miss-it comedy A Touch of Cloth is unlikely to come back for a fourth series, according to lead star John Hannah.

Lipman will play his employee Beverley, while there will also be appearances from Matt Lucas, Kevin Eldon, Toby Williams, Claudia Jessie and Naz Osmanoglu.
UKTV's Simon Lupton said of the show: "What could possibly go wrong in a quintessentially English antiques shop managed by an energetic eccentric and staffed by a bizarre bunch of characters?
The answer is quite a lot – and that is the premise for this fast-paced, contemporary sitcom, written with verve by a new writing partnership. Robert Lindsay is one of our most versatile and funny actors,...

Remember Kinvig, Clone, Not With A Bang? These are the UK sci-fi sitcoms you’re unlikely to see on comedy best-of lists…
With E4 sci-fi comedy commissions, Tripped and Aliens, and in-development Channel 4 projects, Space Ark and Graham Linehan/Adam Buxton collaboration The Cloud, in the works, a new crop of sci-fi sitcom could be making its way to UK TV.
Making funny sci-fi on a small-screen budget is tough enough without the additional pressure of having to attract viewers more traditionally down-to-earth in their sitcom tastes. Sci-fi sets and effects can be seen as prohibitively expensive by comedy commissioners (which is perhaps why the best UK sci-fi sitcoms of recent years has been on BBC Radio), and the genre’s niche status doesn’t scream mainstream hit. Over the years, one or two stand-outs have managed to straddle the sci-fi and comedy TV worlds, but plenty more have stumbled in the attempt.

Dave is about to launch its first wholly original sitcom - and star Daniel Rigby has promised that Undercover is "edgier" than your average comedy.
BAFTA winner Rigby plays Chris, a hapless undercover cop who infiltrates the Armenian mob, with Sarah Alexander cast as his handler Zoe.
"I think there was a bit more freedom to be a bit edgier than you would on [for example] the Beeb," Rigby told Digital Spy.
"This is quite an unusual sitcom, I think," Alexander added. "It's their first piece of [original] comedy that they've commissioned, and I think it's really exciting that they're doing something so different."
Undercover has been billed as Donnie Brasco with more laughs, but Rigby insisted he did not attempt to model himself on Johnny Depp in the 1997 mafia movie.
"I watched it, but I didn't base my performance on Johnny Depp," he laughed. "I knew I'd lost that battle before it'd begun,...

The departure of Sheridan Smith from Jonathan Creek will not be addressed on-screen.
The new series of the BBC One comedy-drama sees Creek (Alan Davies) solving mysteries alongside his wife Polly (Sarah Alexander).
"We don't mention [Sheridan's character] Joey," Davies confirmed to Digital Spy and others, on set for the new three-part run.
"It is the destiny of former sidekicks that they never get mentioned again! It is becoming a convention of this show."
Amateur detective Creek was previously assisted by Smith's Joey Ross, Julia Sawalha's Carla Borrego and, originally, Caroline Quentin's Maddie Magellan.
"He will never meet anyone quite like Maddy again," Davies acknowledged. "That part was deliberately written for Caroline because Caroline is pretty bonkers - she was brilliant in that role."

Alan Davies has promised a more mature Jonathan Creek in the new series.
The BBC One comedy-drama returns for its first full series in 10 years tonight, with an older Creek having ditched his famous duffle coat.
"The duffle coat is on the costume rail but it hasn't been brought out for any scenes," Davies told Digital Spy and others on set. "Who wears the same duffle coat for 17 years?"
The new three-part Jonathan Creek series - written by creator David Renwick - will see the amateur detective team up with his wife Polly (Sarah Alexander) to solve mysteries.
"David wanted to write about a married couple - he wanted to write ongoing serious relationships," Davies explained.
His co-star Alexander added: "First of all, Polly is not keen but she soon gets drawn into it all. Some of the mysteries are very personal to her - especially the first episode.

Only he wasn’t wearing a duffle coat, and he isn’t an illusionist anymore. Hang on, am I watching the correct programme? Tonight sees the continuation of the first full series of Red Dwarf for thirteen years. Harkening back to the character dynamic of Series Six, senile shipboard computer Holly is absent and the main cast consists of the core four: curry loving slob Dave Lister (Craig Charles), cowardly and officious hologram Arnold Rimmer (Chris Barrie), the well dressed but self-absorbed Cat (Danny John-Jules), and insecure robot Kryten (Robert Llewellyn). So in celebration of Red Dwarf X, we count down the programme’s top five episodes…
5. Stoke Me A Clipper – Series Seven Episode Two
Series Seven and Eight are sort of the black sheep of Red Dwarf. The majority of fans regard them with a certain amount of disdain and the general consensus is that Series Seven is where everything went downhill thanks to the departure of co-creator Rob Grant, and Rimmer being replaced with a parallel version of Lister’s former love interest Kristine Kochanski.
