Actor and producer Anthony Anderson will take part in the Hgtv reboot of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” the cable network said Wednesday, joining as a guest to work with series host Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
“I will be part of making a real impact on a family’s future,” said Anderson, in a prepared statement. “The joy of working alongside people in the community to help a family get a fresh start in their new home is extraordinary.” He has appeared in the past on Hgtv sibling Food Network.
Hgtv will rely on a cadre of volunteers, special guests and experts to boost its take on the series, which is slated to air on the Discovery Inc. network in 2020. The cable network plans to produce 10 new episodes of the former ABC series, featuring some of its many home experts as part of the process. Hgtv has also secured the U.S.

Most towns have one -- a house so decorated for Christmas it's probably visible from space.
Now take those light-happy, statue-crazed homeowners and multiply them many times over, then pit 20 of them in competition. That's the premise of ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight," premiering Monday, Dec. 9.
Each of the five one-hour episodes, shown over three consecutive Mondays, features four families, one of which comes away a $50,000 winner.
During the last holiday season, ABC asked families who do serious decorating to send footage of their houses. For this, they have three weeks to decorate and can enlist family and friends.
One family erects a giant Ferris wheel and a ski lift in the front yard. Another family sings on the roof, albeit a flat roof.
"Ultimately it came down to a variety of spectacular Christmas lights displays," executive producer Brady Connell tells Zap2it. "We wanted people from all around the country.

NBC and Fox have both unleashed their Fall 2011-2012 TV schedule, now ABC has released theirs. I’m excited to see Castle, Modern Family, and The Middle back in the mix. Most of the new shows they have line-up don’t really interest me, but there are a few that have caught my eye. PanAm is another 1960’s based TV show that will go against AMC’s Mad Men and NBC’s The Playboy Club. There’s a show called Revenge that sounds really interesting, but the new series I’m most excited about is is the fantasy series Once Upon A Time, a show where fairy tales collide with the modern day.
Here is ABC’s full schedule along with a description of all of their shows. Go through them below and let us know what TV series you’re most excited about seeing.
