Selma star David Oyelowo is attached to produce and star in gun violence drama Another Day in the Death of America.
First reported by Deadline, it’s understood the button-pressing feature will be based on the non-fiction novel by Gary Younge, a journalist for The Guardian who began work on the expose shortly after a heinous mass shooting occurred back in 2013. What made this event so disturbingly remarkable was the fact that, despite 10 children being shot dead, no reports were aired on national news.

In terms of performers-turned-filmmakers, they don’t come much bigger than Jodie Foster and George Clooney. Between them, they are responsible for some of the more interesting and satisfying TV and film projects of the last few years – from episodes of Orange Is The New Black and House Of Cards (Foster), to movies like Good Night And Good Luck and The Ides Of March (Clooney). The prospect of these two talents collaborating is an exciting one, to say the least – so it comes as no surprise that Money Monster is already heading straight for ‘highly anticipated’ status, with studios clambering for a piece of the action. TriStar now seems to have won that battle, with a financing package of $30 million.

2014 has been an unexpectedly strong year for the work of late author Ira Levin. In addition to NBC’s planned miniseries adaptation of his iconic chiller Rosemary’s Baby, which will star Zoe Saldana and hew much more closely to Levin’s novel than the Roman Polanski film, TWC-Dimension is steadily moving forward with an adaptation of his creepy play Veronica’s Room, which now has The Wolverine writer Mark Bomback on board to pen the script.
In Veronica’s Room, college students Susan and Larry are drawn to a creepy New England mansion, where Susan is told that she bears a striking resemblance to the sole inhabitant’s long-dead sister. When the pair are asked by the caretakers to stay with the inhabitant, an old woman suffering from dementia, until she passes away, they reluctantly agree. However, the seemingly merciful errand takes a dark turn as Susan and Larry...

TWC-Dimension are set to finance, distribute and executive produce a thriller film adaptation of Ira Levin's 1973 Broadway play "Veronica's Room".
Levin, who also penned creepy classics "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Stepford Wives", created this story of a young couple asked to come to an old New England mansion being cared for by an older couple.
The older pair insist that the young woman, Susan, resembles Veronica, the long-dead sister of a woman who still lives in the mansion.
The caretakers say that seeing Susan will comfort the dementia-beset resident of the mansion. Soon Susan is not only wearing Veronica’s clothes, she is trapped in the house and the role.
Daniel Dubiecki and Lara Alameddine are set to produce.

Although she's leaving "Parks and Recreation," Rashida Jones is on a roll.
After her comedy "Stuck" landed a put-pilot commitment at Fox, Rashida -- along with her older sister Kidada Jones -- has earned a script order from The CW for the dramedy "Ladyballs" (formerly known as "The Revengers"), The Hollywood Reporter reports.
The hour-long comedic drama is about two twenty-something estranged friends in search of love in NYC. The two are reunited after learning that they've been dating the same guy. When their plot to humiliate the two-timer goes viral, they realize that the payback business is actually a lucrative one, so they set up a clandestine business to continue dishing out justice for others who have been wronged.
Rashida, Will McCormack, and Daniel Dubiecki will executive produce, while model/actress/fashion designer Kidada will make her producing debut.

Most family vacations... well... they suck. The odds of everyone being completely happy with a chosen destination or idea is pretty slim. That being said, a little death and terror can go a long way in terms of livening things up.
Variety reports that Paramount has decided to go on a Family Vacation, buying Eric Reese's thriller spec script and setting it up with Daniel Dubiecki's Allegiance Theater to produce through the Paramount Insurge label.
The logline is under wraps other than the story centering on a family going on vacation. Not exactly sure how Dread-worthy this will end up, but we'll keep an eye on things. If it's warranted, look for more soon!
