Former Georgia Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan said he would vote for President Joe Biden instead of former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
Duncan explained his decision in an op-ed he wrote for The Atlanta-Journal Constitution titled, “Geoff Duncan: Why I’m voting for Biden and other Republicans should, too.”
In his op-ed, he stated how it was “disappointing to watch an increasing number of Republicans fall in line behind former president Donald Trump,” including “some of his fiercest detractors.”
He mentioned detractors such as “U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu and former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr, who raised eyebrows during a recent interview by vowing to support the Republican ticket.”
“Yes, elections are a binary choice,” Duncan admitted. “Yes, serious questions linger about President Biden’s ability to serve until the age of 86. His progressive policies aren’t to conservatives’ liking.

At the end of the 2001 movie “Monsters, Inc.,” the titular company decides to cut ties with tradition and do away with human children’s screams as a power source in favor of laughter. It was a fun tag that put a nice bow on Sulley’s character growth after meeting the human Boo. What the movie doesn’t show is whether the larger world of Monstropolis will be open to such a drastic change to their traditions and culture. That is at the heart of Disney+’s “Monsters at Work,” which, in its second season, brought workplace existentialism and the environmental revolution to the popular Pixar franchise — along with the surprise return of Steve Buscemi’s Randall Boggs. (More on that later.)
“The end of ‘Monsters, Inc.’ is great for the audience, but that doesn’t necessarily extend to the larger city and the larger world,” “Monsters at Work” showrunner Kevin Deters told IndieWire.

The producer of “Safehaven,” an unreleased TV show, has been accused in a lawsuit of siphoning funds from the show’s budget to pay his personal expenses, including payments to keep his house out of foreclosure.
David Ozer, the president of Strong Studios, is alleged in the complaint to have fabricated invoices and created fake vendors in order to hide the theft.
The plaintiff, Kevin V. Duncan, is a producer and investor in the series. The pair earlier produced the Nicolas Cage horror film “Willy’s Wonderland.”
Ozer is a veteran entertainment executive, having previously worked at Sony, Starz and as president of Idw Entertainment.
According to the complaint, Duncan and Ozer sought to produce “Safehaven” as a 10-episode supernatural series for Crackle, the free ad-supported streaming service. The show is based on a 2017 graphic novel by James Seale.

Not Dead Yet began as a high-quality soap opera. Although the topic of ghosts in TV series, even those not belonging to the horror genre, is not new, the writers of the show starring Gina Rodriguez managed to come up with a really catchy premise – the journalist starts writing obituaries and begins to see the ghosts of the people she writes about.
The first season immediately made thousands of viewers fall in love with the show. The fans praised Not Dead Yet for its light-hearted vibe, witty humor, and thought-out characters. Unfortunately, Not Dead Yet suffered the fate of many other shows – the second season clearly failed to live up to the high bar set by the first.
Not Dead Yet’s Season 2 Finale Became The Best Episode of The Whole Show
In the worst soap opera tradition, the characters' actions became unreasonable and the plot itself started to look more like a mess.

Canadian director Denis Villeneuve has done the impossible: turned Frank Herbert's complex and intense sci fi novel Dune into two popular and critically acclaimed films.
The success of the first two movies will probably mean more Dune on the horizon, and there's plenty of material available in Frank Herbert's six books.
However, even Villeneuve couldn't pull off these 5 wild moments from the novels.
The Chairdogs
In the novel Heretics of Dune, Frank Herbert introduced a bizarre furniture-animal hybrid. They're called 'chairdogs', and they're exactly what they sound like: a bioengineered combination of a chair and a dog.
The point of chairdogs is that they are designed to massage you while you sit in them, though if that actually sounds appealing to you I have a few questions about your taste (and your criminal history).
It's hard to imagine that Dune 3 will feature chairdogs, not because they're too complicated for...

In Challengers, everyone is obsessed with Zendaya. Or, at least, her character Tashi Duncan. “She’s gonna turn her whole family into millionaires,” says Josh O’Connor’s young tennis champ Patrick Zweig, to old friend and doubles partner Art Donaldson (Mike Faist). “She’ll have a fashion line, a foundation.” It’s easy to see why they’re in awe. Duncan is a world-class player, brand ambassador, and the object of both their affections. And with regards to ambition, ability, and enormous success at a young age, they could just as easily be talking about Zendaya herself – a star who, over the past few years, has been executing her own Tashi-esque world domination. So far, she’s moved from kids’ TV star to being a part of some of the biggest movies on the planet. With Challengers, though, she’s taking things to a whole other level.

To say anything in film history is a “first” can be a dubious claim. Not only is film complicated as a medium but so much of its history has been lost. Our picture of cinema is one largely of the movies that have been lucky enough to survive, or the movies that have been considered important or special enough to be preserved. It takes even more effort to find and preserve the history of filmmakers who existed outside the early film studios.
But that effort is exactly what film historian Pearl Bowser undertook, and she is now being honored for it with “The Boom Is Really An Echo: Selections from the Pearl Bowser Media Collection” at Bam.
Bowser’s probably best known as the scholar who revived interest in director Oscar Micheaux and the early days of Black cinema in the ‘70s — an interest that abides to this day with...

Game of Thrones has always been a franchise that focuses on multiple stories at once and does not spoon-feed information to its audience. Leaving certain parts of the story open to interpretation, there have been many beautiful and tragic stories that the entire fandom agrees on. However, when so much is left open-ended, audiences are left astray and move too far away from the truth.

And nobody in all of Scotland is ever gonna bring her down. That’s the thesis, more or less, of Macbeth (An Undoing), a production from the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh now at Brooklyn’s Theater for a New Audience, that strives to do for Lady Macbeth (Nicole Cooper) what Wicked did for the Wicked Witch of the West. But Zinnie Harris’s play never defies gravity in its laborious quest to reimagine and center Lady Macbeth’s story.
Perhaps Harris hasn’t seen a decent production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The smart ones articulate without textual revision what Macbeth (An Undoing) goes to such unsubtle lengths to declaim: Lady Macbeth is the more powerful, ingenious, compelling character, and it’s her coolly competent ambition, not her husband’s, that motors this play. No argument there.
What especially bothers Harris isn’t the ferocity but the fragility in the original Lady Macbeth’s villainy,...

After being convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, Jonathan Majors will avoid jail time by completing a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program. Additionally, Majors must continue with mental health therapy. The new order comes as Majors faced a one-year jail sentence for his actions against Jabbari.
Last week, Majors’ legal team tried to have his conviction thrown out, saying there was “a reasonable view of the evidence to support that Defendant acted recklessly.” Majors’ arrest happened at the height of his career after the back-to-back releases of Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The latter positions Majors as Marvel’s next Thanos-level villain, Kang the Conqueror.

Jonathan Majors was sentenced Monday to a 52-week domestic-abuse prevention program after being convicted in December of recklessly assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
The former Marvel actor was solemn during proceedings, declining to make a statement. Judge Michael Gaffey noted that “jail is not necessary” for the misdemeanor domestic violence offense, but said Majors is expected to complete the intensive course in person. He is also barred from owning or applying for a license to obtain a firearm.

In Denis Villeneuve's 2021 sci-fi epic "Dune: Part One," Jason Momoa plays Duncan Idaho, a Gonaz Swordmaster in the service of House Atreides. He was robust and friendly, kind to the young Paul (Timothée Chalamet), and capable in a fight; he famously killed multiple Sardaukar warriors before being overwhelmed and slain during a Harkonnen raid on the Atrides' mansion in Arrakeen. Despite this, Frank Herbert's second "Dune" book, "Dune Messiah," sees Duncan return as a clone, Indeed, Duncan clones, called "gholas," appeared throughout Herbert's six original novels, making Duncan Idaho the only "Dune" character to hold that distinction.

Although many critics were skeptical of "House of the Dragon," arguing that the finale of "Game of Thrones" was so horrendous that it may have killed any audience interest in another TV show set in the same universe, the 2022 spinoff's first season was a pretty clear success. It was so good, in fact, that it's now paved the way for a new spinoff series, once again set in Westeros during the Targaryens' reign.
That's right: "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight," which was officially greenlit by HBO in 2023, has now cast the largely unknown actor Peter Claffey as the young knight Dunk, plus the 9-year-old Dexter Sol Ansell as the pre-pubescent Egg. After Blue (Bertrand Mandico)
In the post-apocalyptic nightmare of After Blue, humanity—or what’s left of it—roams a former paradise turned wasteland. The Armageddon that wrecked the Earth in some undetermined past left no machines behind, no screens, and, perhaps most conspicuously, no men. In the distant planet the human race fled to, and which writer-director Bertrand Mandico’s film is named after, “they were the first to die,” we’re warned early on: “their hairs grew inside them, and killed them.” As it was for its predecessor, The Wild Boys, After Blue is suffused in a feverish ecstasy, that wild excitement that comes from a watching one world crumble and another jutting into being from scratch, a vision of...

Ever since he made a splash with 2009’s Dogtooth, Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos has been considered an exciting voice in cinema, resulting in accolades and award nominations for his disturbing and absurdist works. That does not change for Poor Things, an adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s 1992 novel which sees Lanthimos and writer Tony McNamara on fire once more after their previous collaboration with 2018’s The Favourite.

Initially naïve, Bella’s eagerness to learn more about the outside world clashes with Godwin’s desire to keep her safe. This article contains spoilers for "X-Men '97" episode 2.
Before "X-Men '97" premiered on Disney+, fans of the original "X-Men: The Animated Series" did their homework of devouring every corner of the internet for possible hints of what the revival continuation could be bringing to the table. One of those hints came from the promotional tie-in release with Hasbro as part of the Marvel Legends series, which included an action figure of the villain, X-Cutioner. The figure is advertised as specifically designed to look like his character in "X-Men '97," which means we knew that he would be making an appearance at some point. In what way he would pop up in "X-Men '97" would have to wait for the series premiere, but with the first two episodes now available to stream on Disney+, we have our answer.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Night Court Season 2 Episode 12, “The Duke’s a Hazard.”] Our Flag Means Death fans will happily reminded of Rhys Darby‘s Gentleman Pirate when watching his performance in the Tuesday, March 19, episode of Night Court, which aired at 8/7c on NBC. Darby is a natural fit in the multi-cam comedy as Gurgs’ (Lacretta) boyfriend, Alistair Tully, an English duke. Accompanying Darby’s duke in the episode is fellow comedy king Dave Foley from The Kids In the Hall as his valet, Duncan. Alistair first appears in the episode stealing croissants from the court cafeteria, unaware that he has to pay for them. Royals don’t carry cash! Alistair continues to dote upon his American love throughout the episode, which has purely kismet timing with this royal plot. Who knew when they were writing the episode that their jokes about body doubles for English royals would align with the internet’s...

“Always be two steps ahead,” repeatedly says Rachel Hyde, the famous alter ego of the namesake character in Hammer Studios’ “Doctor Jekyll.” The film’s director, Joe Stephenson, and his screenwriter Dan Kelly-Mulhern don’t take her advice, and it’s much to the detriment of their contemporary adaptation of the 1886 Robert Louis Stevenson novella, which can’t decide singularly what Jekyll’s transformation is a metaphor for. All volunteered options are either obvious or severely undercooked. Though Stephenson offers plenty of suitably spooky imagery, and importantly finds a more-than-game collaborator in Izzard as both the good and evil doctor, “Doctor Jekyll” is meandering and empty, an update with neither enough loyalty to its source material or imagination to make its departures meaningful.
The film stars Scott Chambers as Rob Stevenson, a just-released ex-convict whose brother Ewan (Morgan Watkins) secures him a job “providing care” for Dr. Nina Jekyll (Izzard...

Poor Things is the kind of film more people need to watch. The steampunk world portrayed in Poor Things looks like something out of a Wes Anderson movie. A perfect setting for Yargos Lanthimos’ poignant play of colors and the intricate ways in which they have so much to say about the characters and this cinematic world that Lanthimos has meticulously crafted. Out of the several themes and motifs, Poor Things serves as poetic justice for the wrongdoings of a patriarchal society in a much-needed cinematic rebellion.

The second time I saw "Doctor Strange" in a theater (I liked it enough to watch it more than once), I was seated next to a young boy. I vividly recall the scene where Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) crashes his car on a mountain road and violently flips over several times before landing in a body of water below. There was a brief pause, at which point the boy next to me said (loud enough for me to hear), "I sure wouldn't want that to happen to my Lamborghini!"
Kids sure do say the darndest things. They can also be somewhat sociopathic. It's not because they're all secretly the Antichrist in disguise (although it happens more often than you'd think), it's because they simply don't know any better. This can make things particularly awkward when they're potty training or discover that their genitals have multiple uses, like Bella Baxter (Emma Stone) in "Poor Things.

Emma Stone is awaiting her second Oscar for Best Actress as she has been nominated for the film Poor Things. The actress had previously won the award for Damien Chazelle’s musical romance La La Land. Stone stars in the film as Bella Baxter, a resurrected woman who sees the world in a new light as she begins to understand it again.
Stone mentioned how she had to prepare extensively for the role as she had to be extremely comfortable with every other co-star in the film. She also mentioned how they had to film the movie in virtual sets during the scene where Bella and Mark Ruffalo’s character Duncan Wederburn go on a steamship journey. “Who is you?” Poor Things protagonist Bella Baxter asks the strange man who has found her in her secluded home. With a self-satisfied smirk and a dodgy, slurring accent, the man entertains Bella by first wearing a goofy hat and then by pinching her between her legs. So pleased is he with the liberties he can take with her body, that the man doesn’t seem to notice Bella’s childish behavior, the way she blows bubbles or speaks in the third person.
All he’s interested in is how Bella seems excited by his presence. And so he saunters away with a smile after answering her question, introducing himself as “Mr. Duncan Wedderburn.”
Duncan thinks that he’s hit the jackpot. “I hate polite society,” he tells Bella (Emma Stone) with flourish. “It’s fucking boring and destroys one’s soul.”
And yet, as Duncan and Bella continue their relationship,...

The 2024 Oscars are coming up and Poor Things is one contender that nominees have to watch out for. The film is nominated in a total of eleven categories, including Best Supporting Actor for Mark Ruffalo. Mark Ruffalo played the role of the film’s antagonist, Duncan Wedderburn, and we have never seen him quite like this ever before.
A still from Poor Things
Now, we all know that Mark Ruffalo is undoubtedly amongst the finest that Hollywood has to offer. However, Poor Things proved that there are times when someone of his caliber can too feel insecure. On one hand, there was Mark Ruffalo feeling insecure on the set of Poor Things, and on the other, there was his co-star Willem Dafoe using his insecurity to play a prank on him. He even enlisted an ex-co-star to make it seem all the more believable.

Stars: Eddie Izzard, Lindsay Duncan, Scott Chambers, Robyn Cara, Morgan Watkins | Written by Dan Kelly-Mulhern | Directed by Joe Stephenson
Eddie Izzard stars in this gender-flipped reboot of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic horror story. Produced by the resurrected Hammer Studio, it’s creepy and atmospheric, but altogether too restrained, when it should have been allowed to run riot.
A newspaper headline at the beginning of Doctor Jekyll states that “Trans CEO Nina Jekyll” (Eddie Izzard), the head of a large pharmaceutical corporation, has become a recluse, disappearing from the public eye due to health issues. In fact, she’s holed up at a lavish British mansion, where her no-nonsense housekeeper Poole (Lindsay Duncan) has been trying to hire a live-in care assistant to assist Nina with taking her medication and various other duties.
Enter Rob Stevenson (Scott Chambers) – and yes, his middle name is Louis – a young man who has recently served time in prison,...
