Netflix has unleashed the first official trailer from the Benedict Cumberbatch series’ Eric’.
Set in 1980s New York, Eric is a new emotional thriller from Abi Morgan following the desperate search of a father when his nine-year-old son disappears one morning on the way to school. Vincent, one of New York’s leading puppeteers and creator of the hugely popular children’s television show, ‘Good Day Sunshine,’ struggles to cope with the loss of his son, Edgar, becoming increasingly distressed and volatile.
Full of self-loathing and guilt around Edgar’s disappearance, he clings to his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet, Eric, convinced that if he can get Eric on TV then Edgar will come home. As Vincent’s progressively destructive behaviour alienates his family, his work colleagues, and the detectives trying to help him, it’s Eric, a delusion of necessity, who becomes his only ally in...

Timothée Chalamet had a dream run at the box office, with his last two films Wonka and Dune: Part Two earning huge numbers globally. The actor has become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood right now and has a slate of high-profile projects in the pipeline. His next project is the James Mangold-directed Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.
Chalamet has reportedly decided to use his own singing voice in the biopic instead of lip-syncing to Dylan’s songs. The actor had also flexed his vocal cords in last year’s musical comedy Wonka. A statement from director Paul King about Chalamet’s singing talents might be the reason why Mangold was sure of the Call Me By Your Name star playing Bob Dylan.

Suffering from many of the same issues as Kasi Lemmons’ Witney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Spinning Gold contains too rich of a life for its 137-minute runtime. The brilliance of both Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane and Todd Haynes’ fictional glam rock epic Velvet Goldmine is that they understood there’s only so much you can bite off, starting with the official record and working with those in closest proximity to their subject.
Directed by Timothy Scott Bogart––son of its subject, Neil Bogart––and told from the first-person perspective of the record executive (played by Jeremy Jordan), Spinning Gold takes the colorful story of an entrepreneur who died at age 39 and races through several highlights. These include discovering and packaging Kiss, figuring out that Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You Baby” needed to be 17 minutes long so people can make love to it, and working with the Isley Brothers,...

Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for the newly released “Spinning Gold,” the outrageous 1970s tale of the founding of Casablanca Records by Neil Bogart. Currently in theaters, since March 31st.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The mover and shaker of Casablanca Records was Neil Bogart (Jeremy Jordan), ardently characterized as a mid 20th Century con man, in a sense. After having a minor pop music hit in the 1960s, he joined the record industry later in the decade as a “throw it against the wall and see what sticks” kind of a music maven. When he splits off his own label … Casablanca Records … in the early 1970s, he starts in massive debt but digs it out with a new artist, Donna Summer. (Taya Parx), and a new sound … disco. But he also scored in other music, as Bogart introduced rockers Kiss, soul singers Bill Withers (Pink Sweat$) and Gladys Knight...

The film year of 2022 pretty much ended with a “music biopic”, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody (at least I’m making it the “year’s end” as it was the last advance screening I attended). It did fairly well at the box office but didn’t come close to the critical and award accolades of Bohemian Rhapsody or Judy. But that’s not going to halt Hollywood from “mining” this material, and so we’re getting a tune-filled “true” tale at the end of 2023’s first quarter. Oh, but this has a twist in that it doesn’t center around a beloved performer. No, this concerns the head of a record company. Yeah kids, in those ancient days before streaming and downloading, people went to brick-and-mortar stores and bought discs produced by these companies Aka recording labels. And one of the biggest of them in the mid-...

"The artists worked with us, not for us. We were family." Hero Ent. is releasing this music history movie in theaters nationwide later this week - Spinning Gold, opening on March 31st. The film is actually a biopic feature, not a documentary or musical, about 1970s record producer Neil Bogart, co-founder of Casablanca Records. It's written and directed by producer / filmmaker Timothy Scott Bogart, who just so happens to be Neil Bogart's son. We featured the first trailer late last year, and here's one more before it opens. Jeremy Jordan stars as Neil, along with Michelle Monaghan, Peyton List, Jason Isaacs, Lyndsy Fonseca, Sebastian Maniscalco, Dan Fogler, Caylee Cowan, and Winslow Fegley. Casablanca Records is one of the most influential music labels in history, but the story of its founder, Neil Bogart, isn't as well-known as it should be. Now, the film "Spinning Gold" looks to transport audiences back to the 1970s, when disco reigned supreme, funk was beginning to pick up steam, and Neil Bogart was on top of the world. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming music producer biopic, and more.

The Walking Dead has come to an end after 11 seasons and 147 episodes.
While the world of the programme will continue to be explored in a series of spin-offs, the main show drew to a conclusion in a finale that aired on Sunday (20 November).
As was expected and hoped for by viewers, the finale featured showdowns, nostalgic callbacks and returning faces.
But how did The Walking Dead end?
*Spoilers follow – you have been warned*
The series tied up the Commonwealth storyline by sparing the life of Pamela Milton (Laila Robins), the villainous governor who was happy to let her people die while she was holed up in a gated community.
All the characters, with the help of Pamela’s one-time compadre Mercer (Michael James Shaw), banded together to imprison Pamela. They also detonated the horde of walkers – who had developed the ability to fight back – that had overrun the Commonwealth.

The end of The Walking Dead is only the beginning. That’s the teaser that closes the series finale of AMC’s zombie flagship. A Rick and Michonne series, Daryl’s spinoff, a Maggie and Negan show called Dead City, and more Fear the Walking Dead are indeed on the way, but for at least one major Twd character, this finale really is the end of the road.
While last week’s episode seemed to set up Judith Grimes as the finale’s big death after she was shot by the cowardly Pamela Milton — which would have mirrored Rick’s own demise in the comics at the hands of Pamela’s son Sebastian — Daryl and the crew are able to save her, in part due to a last ditch blood transfusion. Apparently Daryl was a universal blood donor all along but decided to wait...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11 episode 24, “Rest in Peace.”] It’s all led to this. With a horde invading the Commonwealth, Daryl (Norman Reedus) must get an injured Judith (Cailey Fleming) to safety. Meanwhile, our favorite survivors must fight back against the dead — and against Pamela Milton (Laila Robins), whose selfishness is getting Commonwealth citizens killed. But even if they manage to save the community, what’s left? And where’s Rick (Andrew Lincoln)? Surprisingly, the finale does answer these questions… although it might leave a few fans scratching their heads, too. Here’s how it happens. Jace Downs/AMC The episode starts out with two deaths: Luke (Dan Fogler) and Jules (Alex Sgambati), who both fall prey to the walker horde. The group manages to carry Luke to the hospital, but he dies shortly after getting there (in a scene that would’ve been quite moving if the show hadn...

For a show that is preparing to launch several more spinoffs, The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 24 was a surprisingly satisfying hour that brought the flagship series full circle.
There were certainly some doubts going into the finale because we knew several characters would survive because, you know, spinoffs.
Off the bat, Luke's death didn't hit me in the feels as much as it should have because he was off-screen for so long.
Kelly, Connie, Magna, and Yumiko watching their friend bleed out and die was a harrowing development because they were in a hospital -- a fully functioning hospital at that, but good old Pamela Milton moved everyone from the hospital to the Estates.
It's hard to imagine how helpless Luke's friends must have felt as they watched him die. The only solace they can take from it is that they were with him in his final moments.

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 23
It’s hard to believe that The Walking Dead is almost over. Robert Kirkman’s comic book was designed to be a zombie movie that never ends, and even that came to an end eventually. With 11 seasons and 177 episodes (with next week’s series finale), The Walking Dead as a television property wasn’t endless, but it was as close as an expensive, hour-long cable drama can get, which is a testament both to the staying power of the cast and crew and the dedication of fans. It’s not drawing 17 million eyeballs an episode anymore, but the show remains one of the most popular shows on cable and draws almost double the ratings of anything on The CW. It’s not going out on top by any means, but it’s going out well before it could,...

With two episodes now remaining, “The Walking Dead” delivers one of the best episodes of the season. Following up after the weak “Outpost 22,” “Faith” gets the narrative completely back on track and elevates the tension in exciting ways. A revolt is heating up from within the survivors trapped at the labor camp all while Eugene is legitimately put on trial before a judge within the Commonwealth. The two competing main narratives couldn’t be more distinct, yet each of them has enough redeeming qualities and tension to keep viewers hooked.
