David Beckham delves back into the hateful treatment he received following his infamous 1998 World Cup red card — and its impact on him — in a new Netflix documentary series pegged to the 10th anniversary of his retirement.
“This whole process has been like an emotional rollercoaster,” Beckham said of the “Beckham” series in an exclusive video interview with The Associated Press. “I’ve never talked about these certain moments in my career and in my life.”
The intimate four-part series explores Beckham’s upbringing, his courtship with his wife and his triumphs on the field, but perhaps the most difficult part was revisiting his painful sending off during England’s World Cup match against Argentina.
“I hadn’t actually watched it and I hadn’t actually watched the interviews and what people said about me after,” he said, adding that it left him “shocked and emotional.”

Some HBO Max subscribers received a strange email Thursday night with the subject line “Integration Test Email # 1.” The body of the email said only, “This template is used by integration tests only.” There were no attachments or images included.
Given the proliferation of data breaches of late, it could have been a phishing scam.
Most recipients, however, seem to have quickly realized that the missive was a mistake. And then the jokes began.
Some on Twitter posited that Integration Test Email #1 was a new HBO Max show.

"I was pregnant, and I was like crying and had just come out of the shower, and I was like unpacking," adds Tyler, laughing. "It wasn't a very glamorous moment!

On Friday, Us Magazine revealed the actress and Gardner got engaged back in December -- but were able to keep it a secret until now. With the cat out of the bag,...

The downfall that faced Tobe Hooper's creative relationship with The Cannon Group in the eighties wasn't much different than the fate of George A. Romero's collaboration with Orion Pictures. After leaving an iconic legacy for horror in the previous decade, Hooper had a reputation to live up to when he made a three picture deal with Golan and Globus that resulted in the ambitious, but entertaining failure Lifeforce, the misunderstood parody The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and the family friendly remake of Invaders From Mars that helped sink Cannon out of Hollywood forever.
When considering the talent involved in this production that included screenwriting duties from Dan O' Bannon and special effects from legends like Stan Winston (who was simultaneously working on James Cameron's Aliens), John Dykstra (Star Wars) and Alec Gillis, this quite frankly should have been an exhilarating fantasy spectacle at the very least. I can speculate that what everybody watches as children, shapes them into adults with a deep seated desire to emulate it or watch it being emulated. A select few make it to a position where they can actually interject that nostalgia into the contemporary mainstream, and satisfy both the fans of the original material, but also put such a spit shine on the old premise that even the youngsters dig it, and have no idea that it’s based on something way older than they are.
