Let me get this out of the way up front: I think Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi action classic, RoboCop, is a perfect film. With its mix of brilliant social satire, comic book action, dystopian sci-fi, and insane violence—a brilliant blend of ’80s aesthetics, Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner’s sharp script, a perfect cast, and Paul Verhoeven’s particular brand of genius/madness. It is the kind of movie that cannot really be reproduced… though two sequels and a 2014 remake certainly gave it a shot. That each came up short in different ways comes as no surprise. It only offers proof of the original movie’s magical alchemy.
Though they are disappointing in comparison to RoboCop, both of its initial sequels—1990’s RoboCop 2, directed by Irvin Kershner, and the Fred Dekker-helmed RoboCop 3 from 1993—attempt to replicate different aspects of the original and are not without some amount of charm,...

Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn still very much wants to be involved with a potential Moon Knight feature for Marvel...
Marvel's Moon Knight has never really been their most popular property, but he's certainly stood the test of time on racks since the mid-1970s.

If you're unfamiliar with the character, he's been described in the past as "Batman with multiple personality disorder" and while that's taking a very broad sweep at the background of erstwhile mercenary slash millionaire entrepreneur slash cab driver Marc Spector, it's not a world away from the truth.
Born the son of a rabbi, Spector gets his powers after being left for dead on a mercenary mission near an archaeological dig in Egypt. Visited in a near-death vision...

MovieCreedLive has possibly revealed the next three Marvel characters who will be featured in their own solo Netflix series alongside The Punisher in the near future. According to their sources, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight are being considered for their own series.
Blade is a human/vampire hybrid who hunts and kills vampires, while Ghost Rider is the spirit of vengeance who possesses Johnny Blaze. Both Marvel characters have appeared in feature-length films played by actors Wesley Snipes and Nicholas Cage respectively.
Moon Knight on the other hand is a third-tier hero who is described as "Marvel's version of Batman." The similarities include Moon Knight's millionaire alter-ego Steven Grant and the fact he uses a vast array of gadgets and weaponry to stop criminals.
The two new series would be joined by "The Punisher" series starring "The Walking Dead" actor Jon Bernthal who appeared as Frank Castle in season...

Daredevil's courtroom jousting is sometimes even more fun than its choreographed action...
Please remember to keep spoilers for future episodes out of the comments.
Although Daredevil doesn’t lean heavily into the legal drama aspect of its lawyer-as-superhero high-concept, when it does the emphasis is more often on the “drama”. See, for example, the idea that the Punisher could be brought to trial in a week. You’d have to do more than pull strings to get that far in real life. But it doesn’t bother me because what I want to see is the Punisher in the dock, and I don’t care what flimsy explanations they give for why that happened.
The idea of Matt’s life being thrown out of balance by Elektra is well-emphasised here, as he completely botches his presence at the Punisher’s trial much to Foggy and Karen’s understandable disappointment.

When I applied to University of North Carolina (Unc) Graduate School of Business to earn my Mba, one of the application’s essay questions asked “If you were go back into time to the founding of this university, what three items would you bring with you?”
I imagine the purpose of this was to discern candidates’ true character based on which items were most important to them. I bet there were a lot of answers that listed items like family photos or the Bible. I took a different approach. Having grown up on a steady diet of time travel comics and stories (most notably Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court) I interpreted the question in a different way. I answered it by thinking about the three items that would have the greatest positive impact on history. One item I recall bringing back in time (in...

2016 is looking to be a big year for Paul Gulacy, with the long-awaited reprinting of his groundbreaking Master of Kung Fu series and as a guest of Honor at the San Diego Comic-Con. But in some ways every year is a big year for Paul. He’s a tireless workhorse who is always creating and producing gorgeous artwork. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Paul on a few projects (please don’t ask about the Lady Gaga thing) and it’s always been enjoyable and invigorating. This interview is no exception. As you’ll see, Paul is witty and wistful and, as always, honest and authentic. He’s the real deal.

Universal has loaded up "2 Guns," picking up the rights to the graphic novel from Boom! Studios. Marc Platt will produce the crime thriller via his Marc Platt Prods. banner along with Boom! co-founders Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie. It's the third time the parties are teaming up.
"Guns," written by Steven Grant with art by Mat Santolouco, follows a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who are unwittingly investigating each other and who steal mob money for the good guys. They realize later that the mob actually got them to steal $50 million from the CIA.
The project is targeted to be a throwback to classic '80s buddy cop movies in the vein of "Lethal Weapon" and "48 Hrs.," but with a modern spin.
Uni's Jeffrey Kirsch?en?baum will oversee for the studio; Adam Siegel, who brought the project into Marc Platt Prods., will oversee for the company with Jared LeBoff.
Cosby and Richie are producing via their Boom Entertainment.
At Universal, Platt, the producer behind the studio's hit comic book movie "Wanted," also has set up with Richie and Cosby the Boom! projects "Tag" and "Talent."...
