Stephen Colbert’s bandleader is giving the Late Show host the gift of music as he celebrates a milestone birthday.
Born in 1964, Colbert turns 60 today. To mark the occasion, Late Show Band bandleader Louis Cato posted a special performance of one Colbert’s favorite songs. As part of his weekly #CatoCover series on Instagram, Cato performed a rooftop acoustic rendition of Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman.”
Colbert will be spending the landmark birthday at work, kicking off a week of new Late Show episodes. But he’ll be celebrating with old friends and heroes.
His guest tonight is Steve Carell, one of Colbert’s closest friends. The two came up together at The Second City in Chicago, and both went on to star in the short-lived The Dana Carvey Show. They then served as correspondents on Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show, overlapping from 1999-2005.

Jimmy Kimmel gave a hitchhiking Bruce Springsteen a lift—at least that’s what Kimmel’s daughter thought.
In an interview with Good Morning America today, Kimmel revealed the origins of Stewart’s surprise appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week, and his daughter’s reaction to the bit.
The pre-taped segment featured Kimmel and his wife—co-head writer and executive producer Molly McNearney—driving their kids Jane and Billy to school and picking up a hitchhiking Stewart along the way. The bit was a reference to a Jkl segment from six months ago, when Kimmel picked up Olivia Rodrigo, who his kids are huge fans of.
Unsurprisingly, they were less interested in carpooling with Stewart.
“We picked up Olivia Rodrigo, and then Jon called and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if you picked me up and then the kids don’t know who I am?,’” Kimmel told GMA.

Seth Meyers isn’t going anywhere.
The Late Night host has extended his deal with NBCUniversal through 2028, the company announced Monday. Meyers, who skewered the network (among others) during NBCU’s upfront presentation Monday morning, will remain host of Late Night through 2028. Additionally, Meyers’ Sethmaker Shoemeyers production company has extended its deal with Universal Studio Group and will continue to create and develop scripted and unscripted programming for the company’s vast portfolio.
“Over the last 10 years, Seth has resonated with his audience night after night with a sharp monologue and established segments such as A Closer Look and Day Drinking,” said Katie Hockmeyer, executive vp late night programming at NBCUniversal Entertainment. “We’re so happy to continue this legacy franchise with Seth at the helm and watch him continue to elevate the success of Late Night.”

Fresh from skewering his employer, Seth Meyers has been rewarded with a new contract at NBC.
Meyers will continue to host Late Night with Seth Meyers through 2028 and has extended his overall deal with Universal Studio Group.
It comes three years after NBC struck a deal with the former SNL star and head writer to renew the show through 2025.
It means that there will be stability across late-night on NBC until at least 2026 after Jimmy Fallon extended his contract to host The Tonight Show in 2021.
Meyers is the latest late-night host to strike a new deal; John Oliver struck a deal in December to continue hosting Last Week Tonight through 2026, Stephen Colbert closed a new three-year deal for The Late Show on CBS last year and Jimmy Kimmel inked a three-year contract with ABC to keep hosting his eponymous show in 2022.

Seth Meyers has been an annual tradition at NBCUniversal’s Upfronts. Much like Jimmy Kimmel at the Disney event, Meyers loves to roast the television industry and his own employer.
This year was no different, taking shots at NBC, Peacock, Dick Wolf, Bravo star Tom Sandoval, and former ad chief Linda Yaccarino in a five-minute bit.
Check out the jokes below:
“Welcome to the NBCU Upfront. If you’re looking for the Fox News upfront, that’s happening outside a lower Manhattan courtroom.”
“What a joy to be back in Radio City; I asked an NBC executive ‘Why do you hole up here every year?’ and they said ‘I like looking at the marquee and thinking, sure, it’s a tricky time for TV, but it could be worse, we could be in radio’.”
“It’s been a very good day for me, I found $20 on street this morning. Long story short,...

Mark Consuelos made it through his 28th anniversary with Kelly Ripa and her birthday this year just fine, but it seems he floundered with his Mother’s Day offering.
The popular Live with Kelly and Mark star shared a photo of his wife, Kelly, and his mom, Camilla, on Instagram, but not without being blasted because of his choice of photo.
According to what Kelly revealed to Jimmy Kimmel recently on the show, Mark may be in the doghouse again.
Mark is no stranger to Kelly getting upset with him; he got into hot water last winter when he made fun of Kelly’s sleeping habits, as reported by Monsters and Critics.
This time, Jimmy Kimmel used Mark’s choice of a Mother’s Day photo as an example of what not to do for your wife or mom on Mother’s Day.

Seth Meyers had a relatively short set at Monday’s NBCUniversal upfront, but he still got his shots in. Like this one on NBCU competitor Paramount: “I found $20 on the street this morning,” Meyers said. “Long story short, I’m one of the two finalists [to buy] Paramount.”
We’re not sure the Paramount Global special committee is going to take that offer seriously — kind of like Byron Allen’s. See? We’ve got jokes too.
For real though, the two entities playing tug-of-war with Paramount are 1) David Ellison’s Skydance and 2) a Sony/Apollo Global Management contingent.
Meyers had a few punchlines chambered for his employer. Like this one, on NBCU streaming service Peacock: “Peacock continues to prove that the easiest way to make a billion dollars is to spend eight [billion].”
Peacock is not only (still) losing a ton of money, it has yet to reveal a profitable-by date; even Paramount+ has one of those.

Jimmy Kimmel is taking a break this week—from his show, that is. He’s still got work to do.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be airing repeats all week as its host travels to New York, where he’s scheduled to make his first-ever visit to Late Night With Seth Meyers tonight. He’s expected to appear at ABC’s upfront event tomorrow.
Kimmel will be back in the studio May 20th for just three days before going dark again for an extended Memorial Day weekend Thursday May 23rd through Tuesday May 28th.
As summer nears, we’ll likely continue to see less of Kimmel. The longest-tenured late-night host has been handing his show over to guest hosts through the months of July and August early since 2020.

Famed for his acting prowess and deep, intimidating voice, Josh Brolin has now turned his guns straight at Jimmy Kimmel along with Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski after a successful combat outing with Dune: Part Two, a few weeks down the line. The 56-year-old actor boasts a wide-expanding career, with his co-stars being some of Hollywood’s most well-established and popular faces. Furthermore, he has taken it upon himself for the task of documenting these experiences thanks to another of his lesser-known skills – writing.
Ranging from sharing the screens with almost the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s cast in the last two Avengers movies to working on a host of adventure and biopic movies, the actor’s content bucket stays full.

Bert Kreischer made a joke involving his bag of nicotine patches during The Tom Brady Roast. Then it morphed into an accusation about cocaine, he told Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday, taking things into dangerous territory.
Kreischer had nicotine patches in a can in his pocket, but he was informed by the director of the roast that they were too distracting. “So I said, ‘Okay, and I put them in a little bag,'” he said. But that led ridicule by comedian Sam Jay.
“She started calling me a fake party animal, that I don’t even do drugs, I’m not even dead like the best ones.”
He continued, “So, I went into my pocket and pulled out my nicotine patches and I just wiggled them.”
Comedian Andrew Schulz chimed in. “Schulz goes, ‘You got a bag of blow on you?’ And the camera’s on me in the Forum and the Forum goes nuts,...

Joel Edgerton revealed on The Playlist’s “Bingeworthy” podcast that he failed his audition for Star Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy” because he just couldn’t nail down the tone writer-director James Gunn was looking for. Chris Pratt ended up getting the career-defining role, which he’d reprise in two “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequels and various other Marvel movies, including “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Don’t Cross the Stormy

And from all accounts it did not go well for team Trump, as the defiant Daniels responded to Trump lawyer Susan Necheles’ predictable efforts at slut-shaming and her attempts to tar Daniels with being an attention and money-seeking opportunist with some unflappable comebacks worthy of what Jimmy Kimmel termed, “The Stormy Daniels Roast of Donald Trump’s Penis.”

On the set of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa seems unflappable, unless something really obvious goes wrong behind the scenes, but she usually embraces her anxiety and keeps her face neutral. Or, she laughs, jokes, and directs the negative energy away. Unlike some people, she’s not afraid to talk about her health.

Jon Stewart may only be hosting The Daily Show once a week, but when it comes to his beef with Arby’s, he’s all in.
Stewart has a long history of making Arby’s the butt of his jokes, dating back to his original tenure on The Daily Show. Where other brands might have sent “cease and desist” letters, Arby’s lapped up the free publicity, and ultimately took out ads on the show in response.
Now that Stewart is back hosting The Daily Show, it was probably only a matter of time before Arby’s would come up. This time, though, Jimmy Kimmel was the instigator.
Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! featured a pre-taped bit in which Kimmel picked up a hitchhiking Stewart and drove him to an Arby’s location in Hollywood.

Kim Kardashian made a lot of money with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians show on reality TV and her expensive outfit shocked and mortified fans who saw what she wore to the 2024 Met Gala. Of course, she shocked people in the past, but this time, some people think she went over the top and looked likely to pass out.
Kim Kardashian Stunned Reality TV Fans
Two years ago, Kim lost a lot of weight to be able to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s gold Jean Louis dress at the Met Gala. In fact, there were some observations that the reality TV star might have damaged the custom-made dress. If you don’t know, she borrowed the gown from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! stock. Perhaps that’s why this year, she wore a dress by John Galliano.

“The rest of the roast I got called some pretty awful things,” she said. “It makes you question your life and your looks and all that stuff.” “Does it, though? Does it really?” Jimmy Kimmel asked, to which she responded, “It does sink in.”

Jimmy Kimmel had Seth Meyers on his show last month, and now Meyers is repaying the favor.
For the first time ever, Jimmy Kimmel will appear as a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers next Monday, May 13th.
Kimmel has plenty of projects to promote. In addition to Jimmy Kimmel Live, he’s an executive producer on the Hulu reality series High Times, and he’ll host the newly revived celebrity primetime edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire this summer.
Plus, with Kimmel’s recent mention in former President Donald Trump’s ongoing criminal trial, one imagines the two will have a lot to talk about.
The pair appearing on each other’s shows comes after last year’s Strike Force Five podcast solidified bonds between each of the five major late-night hosts: Kimmel, Meyers, John Oliver, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert.

There are some moments when we all want to get some comfort in our lives and seek nostalgia. That is when the TV shows and movies from our childhood come into play. But while some of them have aged well and are still just as funny and heartwarming, others will only bring disappointment.
This list may seem perfect for any 80's and 90's kid, but if you take a closer look, you'll realize that none of these shows are actually good by today's standards.
Baywatch (1989-2001)
To say that Baywatch was bad would not even be a controversial opinion or a hot take. Despite its longevity, the only thing the show could rely on was the good looks of its cast, which is why it was so overly sexualized. The creators must have hoped to hide the lousy production and all the plot holes behind a bunch of conveniently attractive people.

The offices of Jimmy Kimmel Live! must be abuzz today.
For the second time in less than a week, Jimmy Kimmel and his late-night show were brought up in former President Donald Trump’s ongoing hush money trial.
Stormy Daniels took the stand at Trump’s trial today, where she was asked during her testimony about her January 2018 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
It was in that interview that Kimmel brought up a letter Daniels had allegedly signed denying she had an affair with Trump. When Kimmel asked whether the signature was authentic, Daniels gave a cagey reply that implied that it wasn’t.
Kimmel’s interview was first brought up in court on May 2nd when the prosecution entered into evidence text messages that Trump’s then-attorney Michael Cohen sent to Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Keith Davidson. In the texts, Cohen reacted with concern to Daniels’ appearance on Kimmel’s show.

For those who were wondering, “Where in the world is Jon Stewart?” when tuning in to Monday’s The Daily Show (which was hosted by correspondent Jordan Klepper), viewers only had to tune in to Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Stewart, who has been behind the desk at the Comedy Central staple on Mondays for two months, took the night off the desk for the Netflix Is a Joke festival happening in Los Angeles. On Friday, he headlined at The Greek Theatre for his “Jon Stewart and Friends” show, which saw him bring out Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman and Mike Birbiglia as special guests. Stewart is also slated to be a guest on John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A. on Netflix this week, a set of live talk shows that are part of the streamer’s fest.

Missed Tuesday’s late-night monologues? We’ve got you covered with our round-up of the night’s best laughs from across the dial.
We All Get 10 Practice Contempt Charges, Right?
As admirably as Judge Juan Merchan has scoffed at Donald Trump’s legal team and its increasingly ridiculous and sweaty excuses for their client’s flagrant flouting of the gag order against him, the fact that Trump was issued his tenth contempt of court judgement on Monday for attacking the jurors and officers of the court in his criminal trial had late-night hosts looking for new ways to express their incredulity. With the judge putting it in writing that the next violation will quite probably mean jail time for Trump, at least that mental picture seemed to jazz up the hosts, with Jimmy Kimmel looking eagerly forward to the inevitable, noting, “It’s like trying to get a dog to stop licking itself.

First on LateNighter: Jon Stewart won’t be on The Daily Show tonight, but you just might see him on two others.
Stewart was already set to appear tonight on John Mulaney Presents Everybody’s in L.A., the six-episode talk show streaming live on Netflix all this week.
But if Jimmy Kimmel’s latest Instagram post is any indication, it seems the Daily Show host may also be dropping by Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“Ran into a stranger this morning,” Kimmel captioned an Instagram photo of himself with Stewart. “Invited him on the show tonight.”The pair are pictured outside an Arby’s—the fast-food chain Stewart has had a, uh, beef with for years.

Jimmy Kimmel is set to return as host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire this summer as ABC celebrates the 25th anniversary of the landmark game show.
Originally hosted by Regis Philbin, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire first premiered on American television 25 years ago last month. It was an instant hit, and ultimately became so popular that at one point ABC was airing the show five nights a week. It finished the 1999-2000 season as the higest rated show on television with an average of 29+ million viewers.
Kimmel first stepped into Regis Philbin’s shoes back in April 2020 for a then-new network revival of the series, and returned later that year with a second season. It’s been on hiatus ever since.
ABC says the show’s new season will see two celebrity contestants playing together for charity.

At a comedy show as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest on Friday, Jon Stewart went deep on Joe Biden, antisemitism and the idea of “go woke and go broke.”
Stewart headlined at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles for his “Jon Stewart and Friends” show, which saw him bring out Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman and Mike Birbiglia as his special guests.
Starting things off with the upcoming presidential election, Stewart questioned, “Why are we allowing this? And now we’re going to have a president that’s [one of] the two oldest people that have ever run for the office of the presidency,” with Biden and Donald Trump breaking the record that they themselves set four years ago.
“I know liberals say, ‘Don’t say Joe Biden is old’ — don’t say what people see with their own eyes! You can say it, he can’t hear us,” he joked.

A revival of the long-running primetime and syndicated quiz show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is hosted by late night's Jimmy Kimmel. As in the original versions, contestants try to answer multiple-choice trivia questions for ascending amounts of money, with the hopes of winning the million-dollar prize. In this version, the lifelines are "Ask the Host" (replacing "Ask the Audience"), "50/50", and "Phone a Friend". Jimmy Kimmel could hardly contain himself Thursday night, opening his monologue by jumping right into the news that he was mentioned in the ongoing criminal trial of former President Donald Trump.
“I am very excited, I am very proud, I’m exhilarated even,” Kimmel told his audience. “Because from here on, we aren’t just following the Donald Trump drama in New York. We are part of it.”
Text messages entered into evidence by the prosecution yesterday showed a 2018 exchange between Trump’s then-attorney Michael Cohen and Keith Davidson, who represented Stormy Daniels in the hush money payment, discussing an interview with Daniels on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The interview in question took place on January 30, 2018, following the State of the Union. In it, Kimmel brought up a letter Daniels had allegedly signed denying she had an affair with Trump, pressing Daniels on whether the signature was authentic.

As we’ve come to learn over the last few months, Ryan Gosling is nothing if not game. He demonstrated that yet again Wednesday night, when the three-time Oscar nominee paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!
After Kimmel introduced Gosling as “a man from Canada who played Ken and got nominated for an Oscar for it” and the star of “the new rom-action comedy The Fall Guy,” the camera cut to Gosling emerging from his dressing room. As the actor made his way to the stage, he came under attack by a seemingly endless line of baddies who tried to take him out with everything from a baseball bat to their bare hands.
For his part, Gosling didn’t miss a beat. After taking out one attacker with his coffee cup and smashing another against a wall, the Barbie star even made some time to stop by fellow guest...

The Donald Trump election fraud trial in New York takes Wednesdays off, but that only left late-night hosts time to play catchup with the widely reported fact that the GOP nominee for President can’t keep his eyes open for ten minutes at a time. As reports came out that Trump’s madly spinning legal team is being forced to come up with unique “devices” to keep their client conscious during his criminal trial, Kimmel called his nemesis “Naptain America” before mocking the apparent projection of Trump’s recent 4 a.m. social media post accusing President Biden of being the sleepy one.
“Where’s Sleepy Joe?,” began Trump’s Truth Social post before concluding triumphantly, “He’s Sleeping,...

Of President Joe Biden’s myriad quips and Dad joke-level zingers at Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner — including around the thorny issue of his age and aimed at former President Donald Trump — one joke, in particular, referenced a notable, recent move by his campaign.
Speaking to a crowd of media figures, A-list celebrities and Beltway power brokers who’d just wrapped up their dinner, Biden started serving up one punchline after another. About halfway through his tight 15, the president referred to his recent sitdown with talk radio host Howard Stern.
“I have higher standards,” Biden said from the podium. “I do interviews with strong independent journalists who millions of people actually listen to…like Howard Stern.”
Goofing on Stern’s journalistic credibility landed with the audience, which, despite the spectacle of the star-studded event, is meant to honor the bravery, tenacity and grit of some of the best reporters in the nation.

Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Jr. are going their separate ways after being linked for some time. So, what’s the real reason behind the famous pair calling it quits?
The Kardashians Date Other Famous People
The Kardashian brand is associated with a lot of things. One of those things is dating other famous people. Whether it’s other socialites, actors, comedians, musicians, or athletes, all of the Kardashian siblings are known for dating other famous people.
While it’s true that every once in a while, a major celebrity dating an everyday civilian can work, that has never been the case with the Kardashians. Many of them are known for dating NBA players, for example. This is also true of the Jenners as well. So, in many ways, it’s a family trait.

The original Spider-Man films could’ve changed the career of one Yellowstone star but he chose to turn down the offer. Tobey Maguire’s Spidey role was reportedly first offered to Wes Bentley, who now plays the despicable Jamie Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama. Bentley revealed that he rejected the offer since the comic book movies were not performing well at the time, especially with the two subpar Batman movies from Joel Schumacher.
Wes Bentley opened up about his Yellowstone role and the role that he missed out on
Before he turned down the Spider-Man role, Bentley became a promising young star with his role as Ricky Fitts in American Beauty. Bentley went on to star in other movies like The Hunger Games, Interstellar, and Mission: Impossible 6.

Blunt walked the carpet at the premiere of ‘The Fall Guy’ at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and she spoke with etonline.com about a special gift of roses Gosling gave her daughters earlier this month.
“The roses are still in their playroom at home,” Blunt said. “It’s this massive box of roses that spells ‘Ken’ and they’re just so happy about it. I mean, they bring their friends over just to show them, you know?”
The actress has previously revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that her daughters Hazel and Violet got a chance to meet Gosling after their mom made a cameo appearance on his recent episode of Saturday Night Live.

Jimmy Kimmel, ABC, and Disney have filed a joint motion to dismiss the lawsuit that former congressman George Santos brought against them earlier this year.
The suit stems from a series of Cameo videos that Kimmel commissioned from Santos and broadcast on his show in December. The videos, purchased for $500 a piece, saw Santos reading from outlandish scripts and were aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live! under the rubric of a feature Kimmel dubbed “Will Santos Say It?”
Santos alleges that Kimmel’s on-air use of the videos violated the disgraced former representative’s copyright, and broke Cameo’s terms of service.
In a 32-page motion filed Monday with the US Federal Court in the southern district of New York, Disney lawyers argue that the broadcast of Cameo videos purchased from Santos falls under the Fair Use provision of copyright law, which permits a party to use a copyrighted work without...

Asked to recall her favorite moment on Jimmy Kimmel Live this past year, Molly McNearney answers without hesitation.
“I really loved Jimmy’s response to Trump’s most recent Truth Social post,” she explains, referring to Kimmel’s blistering monologue on Wednesday April 18th, in which he fact-checked a post from the former president in which Trump criticized Kimmel for an Oscars ratings drop that didn’t happen and a Best Picture presentation that he didn’t give.
McNearney is co-head writer and an executive producer on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She’s also married to Kimmel, giving her unique insight into the host’s thinking when he first saw Trump’s post early that morning.
“I had dropped the kids off at school and came home,” McNearney explained in a roundtable discussion with GoldDerby.com this weekend. “He was like pacing—’have you seen? Have you looked at your phone?’ And I was like,...
