Zac Efron was among the celebrities in attendance at the 2024 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix on Sunday (March 24) in Melbourne, Australia.
The 36-year-old actor was joined by his brother Dylan Efron (not pictured), and was even seen chatting with Sam Worthington inside the Red Bull Racing garage.
At one point, Sam was also seen talking with Red Bull team principle Christian Horner.
It was an unfortunate race for Red Bull as Max Verstappen‘s car faced a mechanical issue and was out of the race on the third lap. His teammate Sergio Perez landed in fifth place.
Winning the race was Carlos Sainz, who just had appendicitis surgery two weeks prior. He was followed by teammate Charles Leclerc, in a big 1-2 win for Ferrari, and McLaren’s Lando Norris in P3.

Recently on social media, a battle has been brewing about which version of the long-running reality TV show is better: U.S. “Survivor” or “Australian Survivor”? Well, one of the current Aussie contestants, Feras Basal, is challenging the American host, Jeff Probst, to let the two countries duke it out Down Under. “Cmon @JeffProbst we want Au Vs US,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Let them play with the big kids in Aus, we’ll sort them out with 47 days.”

Feras mentioning the number of days is important, because it’s perhaps the biggest different between the two versions. One season of “Australian Survivor” takes place over a whopping 47 days, or about a month and a half. Meanwhile,...

Exclusive: The team behind Binge’s newly-crowned biggest original, Strife, are headed back to the writers’ room.
The drama series — from Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers and Anatomy of a Scandal producer Made Up Stories in partnership with Fifth Season — has quickly usurped Colin From Accounts as Binge’s best-performing original for its first day and first week, according to the Foxtel-owned Australian streamer. The writing team, led by Sarah Scheller (The Letdown), are now reteaming to pen scripts for a second season.
The show stars Asher Keddie (Nine Perfect Strangers, Offspring) as imperfect, modern woman and magazine publisher Evelyn Jones, following her journey from lounge room blogger to becoming a force in women’s media. It launched on Binge on December 6.
In an interview with Deadline last year, Alison Hurbert-Burns, Executive Director for Binge and Foxtel Group Content and Commissioning, described the series as “the story of...

‘Top Gear’ Steers To Australia
Top Gear is returning to Australia for the first time in more than a decade. Paramount+ has ordered a local version of the British motoring series, which BBC Studios will produce. Hosts are music composer and car enthusiast Blair Joscelyne, Amazing Race Australia presenter Beau Ryan and actor Jonathan Lapaglia. “Top Gear Australia promises to deliver everything fans love about the show but with an Aussie twist,” said Daniel Monaghan, SVP Content & Programming, Paramount Australia & New Zealand. “We can’t wait for Jonathan, Beau and Blair to get behind the wheel of the world’s biggest car entertainment show.” Top Gear aired on Sbs in 2008-9 and then moved to Nine Network from 2010-12 before being canceled. The UK-originated format is produced in multiple territories and has been a big success around the world. The news comes, however, at a tricky time for UK Top Gear,...

The season finale of “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains” aired on March 27, and fans worldwide are overwhelmingly pleased with the results. Indeed, in Gold Derby’s recent poll asking if the right person won, a whopping 82% of viewers voted that yes, Elizaveta “Liz” Parnov deserved her title of Sole Survivor. The other 18% of poll respondents were split between Gerry Geltch and Matt Sharp, who both failed to impress the jury on finale night.
Did the right person win “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains”? Here are the complete poll results:
82% — Yes, Liz played the best game
11% — No, Matt should have won
7% — No, Gerry should have won

After 47 days, 24 episodes and countless twists and turns, the winner of “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains” was finally crowned by Jonathan Lapaglia on March 27. Heading into the finale, there were just four people remaining in the hunt to win the $500,000 grand prize: Gerry Geltch, George Mladenov, Elizaveta “Liz” Parnov and Matt Sharp. Did the right person win? Or did the jury get it wrong? Vote in our poll below.

When George failed to claim the final immunity challenge, he knew his head was on the chopping block. But in the end, the King was voted out by a three-to-one vote.

The Final 6 players of “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains” have been named and, as luck would have it, they are evenly divided between three original Heroes and three original Villains. A recent twist from host Jonathan Lapaglia prevented anyone from being voted out, and instead the two people who received the most votes (Nina and Gerry) were sent to “Survivor” Isolation. Think of it as Exile Island, only they have to rely on the other contestants to give them food, water and information.

Spice Girls, unite! Gold Derby recently conducted a poll asking viewers of “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains” to name who played the best pre-merge game, and it’s a tie between two members of the so-called Spice Girls alliance — Shonee Bowtell and George Mladenov both receive 36% support. These members of the original Villains tribe have deliciously played up being baddies all season long, and it’s clearly paying off when it comes to fan admiration.
No one else in our poll results earns double digit support, though honorable mentions go to Elizaveta “Liz” Parnov (the third Spice Girl) at 9%, followed by Alanna “Nina” Twine (aka the daughter of America’s Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine) at 6%, and then Hayley Leake (the only Australia winner competing) at 3%. Here are the complete poll results for who fans think played the best pre-mere game:

The premiere episode of “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains” ended with a shocking tribal council in which the Villains truly lived up to their name. To recap, two of their 12 tribe members, Jackie Glazier from “Champions vs. Contenders” (2018) and George Mladenov from “Brains V Brawn,” ended up getting seriously injured in the immunity challenge. They were both sent to the hospital, where they would be able to remain for 24 hours, per the show’s rules, before being permanently removed.
After the Villains tribe lost the challenge and attended tribal council, host Jonathan Lapaglia had them vote as usual, without announcing Jackie or George’s conditions. The votes were cast and then Jonathan revealed that Jackie’s fractured collarbone was too serious for her to remain on the island, so she was officially out. George’s injury was less severe, though he would still be kept overnight at the infirmary as they monitored him.

The rumors are true. Sandra Diaz-Twine‘s daughter Alanna “Nina” Twine is back when “Australian Survivor” returns for its 10th season on Network 10. The iconic duo played together last year on “Blood V Water,” but Nina had to be medevaced when she hurt her ankle. Now, the show is producing a “Heroes V Villains” installment with Nina on the Heroes tribe (Queen Sandra is not participating). Scroll through our gallery above (or click here for direct access) to see the “Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains” cast photos for all 24 participants.
This “Heroes V Villains” installment is scheduled to premiere on January 30, 2023, with 11 returning players and 13 new castaways divided into two tribes based on how they live their lives or how they previously played the game, either as Heroes or Villains. For the first two decades of “Survivor,” host Jeff Probst frequently welcomed the contestants into a challenge by shouting, “Come on in, guys!” However, the iconic catchphrase is no longer used on the CBS reality TV show. What gives?
At the start of the 41st season, the first to air during the Covid-19 pandemic, Probst asked the 18 cast members for their guidance regarding his continued use of the phrase, which some people may find non-inclusive. “I love saying it, it’s part of the show, but I too want to be of the moment,” he admitted at the time. The players at first agreed that it was okay to use and didn’t need to be retired. As a queer woman, Evvie Jagoda confirmed she didn’t feel excluded by the saying. However, when Ricard Foye got back to camp, he thought about it more and decided he needed to speak up.

Earlier this week on “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water,” Mark Wales was declared the winner of the 500,000 grand prize by a unanimous 10-0-0 jury vote over co-runners-up Shay Lajoie and Chrissy Zaremba. It was a decisive victory to be sure, as only a small handful of “Survivor” winners can brag about winning over the entire jury. But some fans aren’t feeling the love.
In fact, in our recent poll conducted after the finale, only 27 of Aussie viewers voted that Mark deserved to win. At 65 support, Shay earned a vast majority of the votes. Chrissy trailed with 8 of the poll results.

On April 4, the 10-person jury of “Australian Survivor” voted unanimously to award the 500,000 grand prize to Mark Wales. Co-runners-up Shay Lajoie and Chrissy Zaremba both received zero votes. Host Jonathan Lapaglia live-tweeted the finale, and he suspects Shay’s poor jury management is part of the reason why she failed to earn a single vote. “Damn….the Jury were clearly not happy with Shay’s self appointed 8/10 for game play….but adding an extra half point was the salt in the wound,” he wrote.

Heading into the season finale of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water,” only four players remained in the running to win the 500,000 grand prize: Mark Wales, Chrissy Zaremba, Shay Lajoie and Josh Millgate. Kj Austin had been eliminated the previous night in fifth place, and then Josh soon followed her out the door in fourth place. That resulted in a Final 3 tribal council, a first for the Aussie version of the reality TV series. Amazingly, Mark won every single jury vote, making him the season’s unanimous Sole Survivor. “Australian Survivor” returned to Network 10’s schedule on January 31, 2022. This time around, host Jonathan Lapaglia welcomed 12 sets of loved ones for a “Blood V Water”-style competition, which was first popularized in America’s 27th and 29th seasons. This particular Aussie cycle began with more buzz than ever before because it notably featured America’s two-time champ Sandra Diaz-Twine as a contestant. In addition, former Australian castaways Andrew “Andy” Meldrum, Mark Wales and Samantha “Sam” Gash all returned for another shot at winning the 500,000 grand prize. Day 40 on “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water” proved to be the end of the road for Samantha “Sam” Gash, one of the most cutthroat players in the history of the game. Talk about #JusticeforJesse!
To recap, Sam and husband Mark Wales had two hidden idols between them, plus Mark had the immunity necklace around his neck, when they stepped into tribal council in the 20th episode. Despite being warned by alliance member Josh Millgate that Mark should play an idol for Sam, the married couple rolled the dice … and Sam ended up being blindsided. Following Sam’s elimination, the surviving players all exited the tribal council area and then host Jonathan Lapaglia broke from tradition and asked jury member Jesse Hansen, who had previously been betrayed by Sam, whether he “enjoyed” her blindside. “That was flipping epic,” the kid stated enthusiastically.

In a recent poll, Gold Derby asked “Australian Survivor” viewers to name the person they most wanted to win the current “Blood V Water” season and the results were, well, all over the place. Five contestants earned double-digit support in our poll results (see below), with “juicy” David Goodchild coming in first place at 25%. He’s the father of superfan Briana Goodchild, who was eliminated way back in the second episode. Editor’s note: this poll was conducted prior to the “Purgatory” twist that sent several voted out cast members to a deserted island in the hopes of one day returning to the game.
Here are the complete poll results for who “Australian Survivor” viewers claimed they wanted to win “Blood V Water”:
25% — David Goodchild
19% — Christine “Chrissy” Zaremba
13% — Shayelle “Shay” Lajoie
12% — Samantha “Sam” Gash

Phase two of the competition has officially kicked into high gear, with the Red (Blood) tribe and the Blue (Water) tribe merging into one group. Khanh Ong and Melissa “Mel” Chiang were the first two boots of the Purple (Lava) tribe, and they’re both now members of the jury that will decide who ultimately wins the $500,000 grand prize.
Of the remaining 11 players, only Mark is holding onto a hidden immunity idol. Amazingly, he decided to keep that information from his wife Sam when the tribes merged, claiming he would have told her at a later date.

Host Jonathan Lapaglia revealed this season’s theme to be “Blood V Water,” and Sandra brought along a secret weapon in the form of her daughter, Alanna “Nina” Twine.

The season premiere of “Australian Survivor: Blood V Water” aired January 31 on Network 10 and 10play on demand (but sadly not in the United States). Among the 24 castaways were former Nrl player Michael “Croc” Crocker and his sister-in-law Christine “Chrissy” Zaremba, and Chrissy shocked the fandom during Episode 1 thanks to her true lack of knowledge of the long-running reality TV show.
“I’m learning as I go,” Chrissy admitted at the start of the season premiere. “I’ve got to cram in how to play this game.” She’s a stay-at-home mom who “keeps it all together” for her three adopted kids, but she hasn’t really seen a lot of “Survivor” — like, almost none at all. “I don’t know the game enough yet, but I think my competitiveness will get me over the line,” she hoped.

If the opinions of members of the international chapter of Aacta are shared by Academy Awards voters, there could be a few upsets at this year.s Oscars.
Birdman won the gongs for best film, screenplay, direction (Alejandro G. Iñárritu) and lead actor (Michal Keaton) at the 4th Aacta International Awards presented at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Sunday.
That.s contrary to the Oscars bookmakers who have Boyhood at short odds for best film and its director Richard Linklater and The Theory of Everything.s Eddie Redmayne as favourites in their categories.
Julianne Moore was named best actress for her performance as a Columbia linguistics professor diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease in Still Alice, whom the bookies rate as the frontrunner ahead of Wild.s Reese Witherspoon.
Whiplash.s J.K. Simmons took the prize for best supporting actor and Boyhood.s Patricia Arquette was best supporting actress.

I'm on God's path.
Det. Robbie Green (Jonathan Lapaglia) drinks vodka out of a shampoo container. He's got a drinking problem. His old friend and colleague, Jason (Luke Hemsworth), is mysteriously murdered in his car with the only clue being reams of digital footage on a Sd card. The footage was made by a runaway, Rachel (Hanna Mangan Lawrence), who is tracking down her sister's killer with the aid of internet pal, Aj (Alex Williams). As Green and Det. Jane Lambert (Viva Bianca)--clichéd backstory alert--follows the clues in parallel to this footage, things show themselves to be more obvious than they at first appear. Australian mystery, The Reckoning (2014), is a lot like a decently cast BBC series except without the character quirks to justify more than one episode. So, Like Thorne (2010), then.
