In times like this it’s crucial to be aware. Not only of what is happening currently, but to be fully aware is to consistently remember what has happened in the past. “Baltimore Rising,” an HBO documentary film directed by Sonja Sohn, will illuminate the death of Freddie Gray and the aftermath in the city of Baltimore.
Premiering on HBO and HBO Now on Nov. 20, “Baltimore Rising” seeks insight in those with concrete ties to the city of Baltimore: the police officers, activists, community leaders, and gang affiliates. The film explores how to make change after the community had erupted into “deep divisions between authorities and the community — and underscoring the urgent need for reconciliation.”

Among the many insights into the system itself, the doc will spotlight key figures in the community, ones particularly invested in the reconstruction of the city.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ description of Hawaii as “an island in the Pacific” on Thursday understandably upset lawmakers from the state. As did his comments that a Hawaiian judge shouldn’t be able to overrule President Trump’s Muslim travel ban. “We are confident that the president will prevail on appeal and particularly in the Supreme Court, if not the Ninth Circuit. So this is a huge matter,” Sessions told radio host Mark Levin on Wednesday, in audio uncovered by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski. Donald Trump overrated After her Golden Globe acceptance speech, Meryl Streep was the latest person to be called “overrated” by President-elect Donald Trump. It’s not easy to get Donald Trump‘s stamp of approval.

Have you heard that the government is buying up billions of bullets in bulk so that when the feds inevitably go to war with the American citizenry, we'll be totally unarmed? If so, you're probably listening to a bit too much right-wing talk radio espousing this theory, which was popularized after the whackadoodle NRA convention in Texas.
The likes of Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones and Mark Levin have convinced Sen. James Inhofe (R-ok) to introduce a bill that would prevent federal agencies to limit their ammunition purchases -- even though Fox News has debunked the conspiracy theory (the Department of Homeland Security simply buys ammunition in bulk to save money on bullets used for training).

Sarah Palin announces she will not be 'seeking the 2012 Gop nomination for President of the United States.' How sad. Sarah Palin made a big announcement today, saying she will not be attempting to get the 2012 Gop nomination for President. But is there still a chance she'll run as an independent? The answer is no. She told radio host Mark Levin she won't be "seeking the 2012 Gop nomination for President of the United States" and reveals she thinks "a third party would guarantee Obama's re-election, and that's the last thing that our republic can afford." Palin also sent a letter out to her supporters. Here's an excerpt: "After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 Gop nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision.

The intersection of race and politics is a dangerous game that nobody seems to win; continued layers of allegations of insensitivity and finger-pointing seem to collectively lead us down a rabbit hole of despair. Yes, racism exists, particularly towards America's first black president. But that does not axiomatically mean that every criticism leveled towards Obama is actually racist, nor even a dog whistle towards racists. This seems to be the point made by conservative radio host Mark Levin, who turned the tables of racism towards MSNBC and NBC in the following audio clip.

New York - The second- and third-largest U.S. radio station groups could soon combine as Citadel Broadcasting said Thursday that it has agreed to exclusive talks to be acquired by Cumulus Media in a deal that could be valued at more than $2.4 billion.
Cumulus, which controls 347 radio stations in 67 markets, is looking to pay $37 per share - $30 a share of that in cash with the rest in stock - for Citadel, which owns 225 stations, the company said.
The merged entity would have a station count closer to that of top terrestrial radio industry player Clear Channel Communications, which has more than 800 stations, according to its Web site. It comes as radio groups have increasingly battled over advertising dollars with online and other competitors.
Citadel, which last year emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, also owns Citadel Media, which creates and distributes such programs as The Mark Levin Show and The Huckabee Report.
